  1. His ability to read the game is what marks him out for me. He'll direct players into position too, not just take up positions himself. He makes himself available for the easy pass, and will move the ball quickly on when he receives it. The guy's just class from beginning to end. Sure, he's not the fastest player on the pitch but he makes up for that by knowing where to be. Watch his runs sometimes, they look like an amble but he gets himself into the right area at the right time, again making himself available even if he doesn't actually receive the ball. There was a lovely moment against West Brom where, in the centre circle, he made a chump of one of their guys by beating him simply by shifting his body. Sold their bloke a cracking dummy just with his body shape... then calmly retrieved the ball. He makes the game look so easy.
  2. I agree entirely. I'm not quite sure what Dragovic has to do when, to my mind, he's the more suited player to our new style under Puel. I can only assume that Morgan's role as captain plays a big part in his selection. They are very different players and whilst I don't doubt for a second Morgan's passion and commitment, Dragovic has the edge for me. Added to that, since coming back, I think Morgan has looked clumsy and has given away free kicks, perhaps due to his passion.
  3. Generally speaking, I'm a supporter of political correctness.
  4. Ditto. Sure, they slow the game down, knock the ball back and forth, back and forth, but then they'll just stick a sequence of quick passes together that'll have you thinking 'wtf' The speed with which they can go up a gear is amazing. Their movement is brilliant too, they've always got a pass on in some direction... if not two or three. I think it's a joy to watch even when they are tikka-takking.
  5. Hello all. I'm new to the forum with this username. I've been lurking off-and-on with several different user names over the years. Nice to see some familiar names still here. First game watched was at Filbo in 1982, season ticket holder for a couple of years, irregular attender since but always kept an eye on results etc. These days, I watch only on the box as I can't afford to attend what with travel etc. Right, back to lurking but I'm sure I'll pop up in thread or two from time to time.
