  1. The £23 million won't last us that long then, if we keep running with an increased loss every year.
  2. might have to get a bit funky with the batting order and promote people like Mike and LVB. Josh Inglis was quality when we had him. Only 5 1/2 weeks until the first game!
  3. Let's hope the young guys step up, Green looks a serious prospect and Dean Headley's son could be the next bowler coming through. We will at least have a very short tail most games with LVB, Mike, Scriven at 7, 8 and 9.
  4. Jordan will tear it up in the Championship. 20 goals and 10 assists.
  5. Played much better for Bologna last year, but that says more about the poor quality of Italian football at the moment. You can really judge what you are buying from Serie A.
  6. They also write this about LVB and he may have patchy availability: The Netherlands international will be available from the second County Championship match against Derbyshire, where he had stints in 2019 and 2021. Peter Handscomb is already confirmed to return for a third season and is expected to be the red-ball captain, taking over from Lewis Hill who stood down at the end of last summer. A third overseas player will be unveiled in the coming weeks. Allrounder Van Beek, 34, is also available for the T20 Blast, the group stage of which runs between late May and mid-July. His availability will be dictated by his international commitments with the Netherlands, whom he has represented at six World Cups. In ICC Cricket World Cup League Two they have matches scheduled in May, June, July and August. In between, the Dutch are scheduled to host a six-team regional qualifier for the next T20 World Cup.
  7. This is the article from the Cricketer: Shan Masood is set to join Leicestershire for part of the 2025 county season. The Cricketer understand Masood, the Pakistan Test skipper, is expected to join the club after leading Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League, in late May. He will be available for the T20 Blast and the final part of the County Championship season. The expectation is he will replace Australian Peter Handscomb who will be rested for the Blast and before his customary return to Australia before the end of the season. Handscomb is expected to captain, when available, in the Championship. Masood has copious experience in county cricket. He was captain of the Yorkshire side which won promotion at the end of 2024 (though did not feature in the last six games) and scored a double-century at Upton steel County Ground - Leicestershire's home - for Derbyshire in 2022. He averaged 82.61 in first-class cricket for Derbyshire that season and 53.91 for Yorkshire across his two campaigns there. He was less prolific in T20, though, averaging 22.11 in 25 games for Yorkshire and 42.69 in 15 for Derbyshire. Leicestershire have also announced the signing of Logan van Beek as an overseas player. The New Zealand-born all-rounder has previously represented Derbyshire (in 2019 and 2021) and Worcestershire (in 2023 and 2024). He is expected to arrive in time for Leicestershire's second Championship match of the season. It means South Africa allrounder Wiaan Mulder will not be returning to Grace Road after three truncated summers disrupted by injury, some inconsistent form, international commitments and franchise opportunities.
  8. Bargain basement! I would have thought he'll be better for the Blast, rather than the Championship, but he's certainly not a top 6 batsman and not a strike bowler either. One of these jobbing pros with dual-nationality that the Netherlands pick up.
  9. Hope the therapy goes well mate and look after yourself. I've been through something similar.
  10. The investors are thinking globally. If you get top Indian players that immediately gives you a bigger global audience and expanded media rights. They will aim to syphon off the TV rights from the current deal in a few years. I would say it will end up existing as a completely separate entity to the county game. County need to invest in facilities that will make them sustainable down the line with non-cricket income. Because the money they will be getting elsewhere will go down. Less form ECB, less sponsorship, less from the gate and agents will be asking for more. I do hope it doesn't get wasted on increased salaries all round.
  11. Would be best going into coaching, before the end of the season preferably.
  12. The 11 counties without hundred teams are reported to be getting £20-27 million pounds each from the sale of the franchises. This can be spent clearing debts and investing in infrastructure. I wonder how we will spend ours?
  13. I think this could well be the worst man Utd team ever
  14. You never had the pleasure of watching Brian Carey then, or Gary Coatsworth.
  15. Too many many of them just interested in their haircuts and instagram. I like Hermansen, hasn't got a fancy haircut
  16. should have started 5 at the back. A point here would been an achievement
  17. Fantastic. Soumare finally looks a player. Looked better with a back 5 - VK less exposed
  18. Kristensen is so bad defensively
  19. I'll also give you Keri Russell in The Diplomat. 48 years young.
  20. For us slightly more mature types. Katherine Waterson in The Agency.
  21. And the guy himself, wants to play every week, not sit on the bench here.
  22. Fousseni Diabate vibes.
  23. I've already had more joy and satisfaction from his two games in charge than the previous 13 with that miserable Cooper.
  24. I won't make a case for Kent, despite living here. Some lovely coastal areas such as Broadstairs and great historical areas like as Canterbury and Rochester, but it has sadly become very overpopulated for the size of the towns and infrastructural, which means traffic is often horrendous. Lots of quite deprived or soul-less towns as well like Ashford, Sittingbourne, Gillingham and Stood. It is the county of medium-sized towns with no real focal point.
  25. Cartwright. I was thinking the same.
