Brendan Rodgers Resigns from Celtic

I don’t think it was her, I think people were mistaking her for Sharon Brown who is a NED at Celtic. There’s lots of rumours Whelan is going to be the new CEO though. -

I think the fans were split on his return overall right from the start, from my standpoint in terms of match going fans anyway. Lots never forgave and never accepted him and knew it would play out this way, we’d all seen the movie before at Celtic first time around and at Leicester and Liverpool too. In the last few months it’s benn pretty unanimous across the board that he needed to go. -

Hes a busted flush now imo. I don’t think any EPL side would touch him now anyway but especially after Desmond has rightly torched his character in public. Hes a pretty powerful figure with a lot of friends in high places so I imagine he’ll be doing his damnest to make sure Rodgers doesn’t find a new job on these shores very easily. He threatened him with this first time around, in the summer window before he left, describing him as a “terrorist”. I also don’t think Rodgers ego allows him to go and take a middling championship type club so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him slither off without a trace. Maybe end up in Saudi or Qatar or somewhere like that to be reunited with his first love; money. -

Nope not joking, a decent source tells me he passed up any compo so he didn’t have to sign an NDA. I assume he’ll bite back at Desmond but he’ll have to be careful if he does as Desmond has very deep pockets. -

Depends what you term a £30m player tbh. A fair amount of worse players, with less potential than O'Riley have changed hands for that sort of money by clubs in the premier league, players who you could barely class as a regular professional footballer as yet, the boy Anderson at Newcastle being one example of many. And for the CL, for context, he was awarded UEFA MOTM in 2 of the 6 games last season, looking beyond the stats he had an excellent campaign for us and was a shining light, hence Atletico's interest in him off the back of coming up against him 6 months ago.
-
Word on the street up here today is that Atalanta have now offered £20m+ with a 20% sell on. Makes sense given they offloaded Miranchuk for decent money midweek. I reckon that'll be enough for us to part with him now unless someone else comes in and sparks a bidding war.

Yeah both

Yeah tore his hamstring early on in the season and then tore both calves at the Asian cup.
-
This is pretty much spot on. His biggest weakness is he gives the ball away a fair bit which could be exposed in the EPL. That said, you take that part out of his game he isn't anywhere near the same player as most of his effectiveness comes from the risks he takes in the middle of the park. He's a great wee player overall but has really struggled with injury the last 12-18 months. If losing Hatate meant us getting to keep hold of O'Riley for another year it would be a no brainer of a decision for me. In terns of style he's an energetic, attacking, creative midfielder, not really like Winks imo.

Yeah, has unfolded as exactly as most thought it would, crap, sideways pedestrian football, horrific transfers and latterly he’s gone full David Brent in the media due to the pressure we’re under at the moment.
-
Hopefully, and soon!

Off to ruin his next club in Saudi with Al Ahli. Never has one man been rewarded for such a consistent level of incompetence. An @rsehole. That is all.

Who do you want for next season in the PL

Could do worse, still very rough round the edges but potential is there. -

An ex city player too so Maresca should know a fair bit about him already. -
Thin this is exactly it.

Wouldn't be surprised at 1 or 2 decent loans from the City group next season. -
Yeah it’s a strange one, knowing Rodgers though it was purely an ego trip coming back, in his head he’ll have thought, watch me make all them love me again. He’s a busted flush as a manager.
-
Exactly, it’s embaressing. When Clement came in we were 7 points clear, so he’s had a 7 point head start and made an arse of that too. Furthermore, the two victories against Rangers have really saved his skin so far as if even one of them went the other way the league would already be over. I said it on here when he was appointed Leicester manager (being selective with my words I’ll admit to not upset anyone) and once again when he came back to us in the summer, the guys a fraud and the majority of proper fans saw through him right from the start of his return.

We get 1200 tickets for tynecastle Then when you consider the green brigade are 200 of that who have openly opposed his return with banners and protests from the start then, to answer your question no, 1200 isn’t representative of the 60,000 that go every second week. I'll also add in I had a few family members in that stand that day who also hate Rodgers and have been consistent in never wanting him back
