  1. Feel sorry for people like this who can't fully enjoy a match like tonight.
  2. Thought it was interesting to see who fans of other clubs have voted for as their player of the season. This is a list of the results so far. Aston Villa: Emiliano Martinez Brighton: Lewis Dunk Chelsea: Mason Mount Everton: Dominic Calvert-Lewin Fulham: Alphonse Areola Leicester: Youri Tielemans Liverpool: Mo Salah Man City: Ruben Dias Man Utd: Bruno Fernandes Newcastle: Callum Wilson Sheffield Utd: Aaron Ramsdale Southampton: James Ward-Prowse Tottenham: Harry Kane Wolves: Pedro Neto
  3. The Dearden LBW was a very dodgy call by the umpire. Thought he was a bit unlucky.
  4. Pretty sure Spurs have still got to play Saints?
  5. I think Tielemans is one of the main improvements from last year. The combination of him and ndidi in holding midfield is appearing to allow us to control and dictate play in the majority of the games we are involved in.
  6. Having watched Palace's recent matches they will spend most of the match camped in their own half looking to catch us on the break. I don't think their fullbacks will be getting forward too much. This formation however relies on one of the three midfielders helping out the fullback for attacks down the wings and so it would be possible to play it against a team with attacking full backs if your midfield is able to cover large distances. Also its not like some of current wingers e.g Barnes provide much cover as it is.
  7. For me I'd like to see us play the diamond formation that we used at Villa away in the league. It is a formation that suits the players in our squad and is one that Rodgers has used previously at his past clubs. Schmeichel Justin Evans Soyuncu Chilwell Ndidi Praet Tielmans Maddison Iheanacho Vardy In my view this team will play to our strengths and is a system when Ricardo returns that will work even better in the long run.
  8. I agree completely with Laporte being as important to Man City as Van Dijk is to Liverpool. However, Sane is nowhere near as crucial to Man City as Mane is to Liverpool. Man City have got massive depth in that area compared to Liverpool who have nobody who can get even close to replacing Mane.
  9. I think what we need is a player exactly like Mahrez. Someone who is left footed can play on the right wing and doesn't mind cutting inside/linking up with the forward. We have Pereira who gets forward well and provides the width on the right so someone like Brooks who can play slightly off the touchline at times and link up better with Vardy, like Mahrez did, would be the perfect fit for us. Add to the fact he is young with lots of potential and British, he fits into our transfer strategy and Rodgers strengths as a coach. If Bournemouth go down hopefully we could get him for a reasonable price. This is true and the major risk. However, he did look Bournemouth's most dangerous player yesterday, although 90 minutes is obviously too early to judge anything definitively.
  10. For me if Bournemouth go down David Brooks would be a perfect signing for us. He would fit perfectly as he is a left footed right winger and young British player. The only question mark over him for me is his injury record.
