  1. I hated the idea of Martin in the championship and prem and I hate the possession for possession's sake style but surely he will be fine in league one and at least has a decent track record of playing young players.

I'm not usually one to play devil's advocate but I think he'll be ok for us given where we are at.

  2. Going to racing Santander apparently, will be interesting to see him against Barca and Real Madrid.

Also surely people aren't calling Vardy boring personality wise, considering his personality on and off the pitch is probably as iconic as his ability on it. Don't think anyone has ever come across well in an interview.

Getting relegated is the bigger problem. A 15 year old who isnt ready yet is not getting first team mins in a relegation battle.

Being a L1 club, there is no pathway for them anymore, as they have to break the first team to feature in L1. When he is ready, Motsi will get loans and it may be L1, and if he does well he they can bring him back.

Would rather be in league 1 having played the academy players a bit more with the upside of them potentially coming good at championship level in the coming years than having stayed up last season and been looking down the barrel of relegation next season with minimum future prospects and the academy players leaving.

Sadly we have gotten the worst of both worlds, the pathway wasn't shown to the youngsters so they will leave and we also got relegated.

Motsi should have been in and around the first team going into next season whether we're in championship or league one anyway.

  4. I genuinely believe the lack of game time for young players last season was worse for the club than relegation itself.

It was the best opportunity to flush the rubbish and bring back some direction into the team and we wasted it. Now young players are looking at their prospects here and realising that older players will always be prioritised.

A return to London with West Ham has to be on the cards

Imagine being a West Ham fan getting relegated from the PL because of mismanagement/players not being bothered then signing Harry Winks who has been a key part in us going down to league one.

    There would be riots.

I think you see one of the ones that said Jakub was better, feels like you are grasping to try and prove something.

Not trying to prove something, could just see that Hermansen had lost something at the end of our last PL season and was happy for him to leave for a fee.

Had he been with us this season we wouldn't be able to get any where near £15mil for him and I don't think he would have kept us up.

Stolarczyk has been disappointing though, felt that certain fans were unfairly on his back after a good start to the season but he let his head drop too easily in response to that. The talent is there but the mentality isn't.

Sorry man but you're talking out of your arse

I think West Ham who have watched him every week this season would agree with me.

Good goalkeeper for us but that injury has killed him off.

He's 25 no were near the prime age for a goalkeeper, has plenty of time to turn things around.

6 cleansheet in 17 games in a poor West Ham side isn't to shabby.

Danny Ward also had 6 clean sheets in the first half of 2022/23, I don't think you would find many people saying he wasn't too shabby then.

He had actually been on a very good run of form for a couple of months or so when he came back in and was a big part of West Hams form improving

Danny Ward had a decent couple of games before the world cup.

Across the whole season Hermansen has put in a lot of stinkers. The kind of games you would forgive a PL level goal keeper for having once or twice in a season has been every other game for him.

He almost single handedly kept us in games before getting injured in 24/25

Sadly he's finished now, not just at Premier League level. Been a complete liability for West Ham this season and was bad for us after his injury.

No matter how underwhelming Stolarczyk has been, getting a fee for Hermansen when we did was the right decision.

Kids getting agents so young is a problem too and get big for their boots too early.

It's difficult because you can't force a youngsters to stay with you but there needs to be greater compensation.

There is always a food chain though, I'm sure that Wolves academy has taken players from lower levels.

When you have clubs like ours that would rather loan a big 6 academy player like Mukasa than play our own in Page then players need to be able to leverage their own value in order to convince clubs to play them.

Whether we like it or not, agents give young players power in an industry that is incredibly cut throat. I prefer the reality where our young players are able to at least partly control their own future rather than leave it up to the likes of Rudkin who will always prefer ready-made journeymen.

Given that last season we were a premier League club, I can't fathom why we've kept braybrooke on the books when he can't even dominate a league 2 game.

Obviously now we're going into league 1 that maybe changes things but a year ago we weren't.

What does dominating a league 2 game look like to you? It's an 11v11 game, as a midfielder it's difficult to win games yourself if the others aren't up for it.

All you can do I be amongst the best on the pitch, which he was.

Lovely penalty to be fair to him.

Made me laugh listening to Chris Sutton on commentary talk about how great of a season he's had there. He's started 4 league games this season lol

Won them 12 points this season apparently despite limited minutes.

Celtic fans seem to love him.

Wasn't Prime Ricky P struggling to get into ghe Portugal team as they had 2 better rightbacks? Or am I imagining that.

Semedo was not better than Ricardo, he just had the benefit of playing for Barcelona. Cancelo maybe but he was also world class.

The ones apart from Aguero and Kane were well past their best to be fair.

Vardy was also past his best when he played against Cavani and Ronaldo. At the time they were still deemed good enough for their national team.

Van Persie, Falcao he played before his best.

  15. We've seen a lot of world class strikers playing for the teams against us in the last 10 years. Rooney, Aguero, Cristiano Ronaldo, Cavani, Lukaku, Falcao, Van Persie, Osimhen, Kane.

Apart from Aguero and Kane who battered us regularly and Osimhen who was brilliant on the day, Vardy was usually was better on the pitch than the others on the occasion.

I agree with you, but they’ve got to be good enough, and also ready.

Our current team aren't good enough so I don't get why the youngsters have to be better than players with more experience and on higher wages with no room left to develop.

Sadly with our fan base we can never actually play the young players as they are unfairly expected to be better than the senior players and get half the grace as the senior players for bad performances.

Look at Faes, when he was last starting for us we were conceding 3 before half time, but the second he leaves the narrative is that we shouldn't have let him go. Nelson on the other hand was nowhere near as bad yet has been written off by many.

  17. Genuinely think no one will want him, he's absolutely trashed his career.

He's a £5k-£10k a week player on £45k a week, the only we could get rid of him is if we subsidise the majority of his wages.
