Outside of the 5 academy lads who in this squad is far too good for this league? Riis maybe but outside of that we have a lot of mediocrity. Burns, Faes, Watson, Okoli, Souttar, Cullen, Thomas, Chaplin etc is a team that on paper looks too good for this league but in practice has a lot of error prone players and players past their sell by date. We are very lucky we have the academy lads coming in otherwise this season would have likely been a horror show. Imagine having to rely on Watson as a starter if we didn't have Alves for example.

If he was playing the ball behind the opposition into dangerous areas and losing it that way it would be understandable. His biggest mistake was when he ran into opposition then did a silly no look sideways pass that almost resulted in their second. If it would have come off it wouldn't have created a chance as Thomas wasnt in a dangerous position, it was just routine recycling of the ball that Faes made much more difficult than necessary. Got rinsed by Kelly as well for another good chance. Horrible player and cannot start for us again.

Should have had a couple of assists yesterday. Gave Cullen and Riis two good chances that they should have finished. Should have scored but creativity wise he's our best forward by miles.

If they're all going to be shit then at least give Kangasniemi a chance. People blame the system for putting our centre backs under too much pressure but some of the passes from Souttar, O'Hara and Faes have been completely amateur.

It's the cycle of Wout Faes. When he doesn't play he's our best centre back. When he does hes a massive bombscare. When will fans who say that's he's our best centre back finally learn that he is rubbish.

Hasn't had a proper run of first team games. I think a run of 10 games and he will look a lot more comfortable. As you said clearly has loads of ability just needs to get used to playing senior football.

There's no probably about it. Burns has been terrible this season, Carr hasn't been exactly tearing up PL2 but this team desperately needs some with pace like him in our attack.

Thought Alves was class today but was stuck being a one man attack as Riis was off his game and Cullen is Cullen. Him and Braybrooke were the only two attacking players that troubled the opposition defence outside the goal. In terms of Watson he's not better than Carr let alone Alves.

He was good at some point as he managed 13 goals in the championship a few years ago. The issue is that we are signing these players past their sell by date

Can't be a worse attacking option than those we subbed on today.

Had a Jekyll and Hyde performance today. Some absolutely comical moments but for a decent portion of the game he was one of our better players.

Howell was not great when he came on today but has shown some quality previously for us so at least has some leeway.

Would have been better to keep Aluko on and risk the red card in hindsight.

Alves is so good. The difference in technical ability he showed from Thomas and Riis in that last play was stark.

7 subs isn't the problem it's the club's obsession with players that aren't good enough.

I think the one I gave already makes my point. Another one is I recall you saying that the reason Hutchinson hadn't stepped up to the u21s because he was only good for goals but when he made that step to the u21s a month or so later he got 4 assists in half a season. We all have opinions but you present yours on the academy as factual when they are often not.

Doesn't help him that he gets taken off before 60 minutes every game he starts. We usually looked worse after he was taken off as well.
