To be clear I would prefer people not to be prosecuted in law. By using the term criminal I mean that there are a lot of parents not doing anywhere near what could be called their best. Surely it can't be good for society for children having under age sex?

I agree about the difficulty and you can't be sure 24/7 but some parents I think are naive or too complacent in their attitudes towards children and are happy to accept any excuse

It may be very difficult but I would suggest parents (I am) take more notice of what their children are doing. Only last week the majority here were saying that Adolescence highlighted how ignorant they were

Just reading BBC News about the Romeo & Juliet clause. Have I understood correctly that for example 2 kids having underage sex at age 14 will be viewed as OK? I find this as another example of early sexulization of children aided by adults alarming. Perhaps I'm missing something?

He has attacked prison officers before. His previous punishment was time added to his sentence. Not much point when already looking at a 55 year minimum. There must be surely a drastic reduction in any privileges he still might retain. Minimum contact with staff and other prisoners with no access to cooking facilities. I too despair. He is the one who should be in despair permanently
