  1. Not sure if already mentioned. I believe the Lord Mayor was Charles Edward Worthington. He was an ace pilot in ww1
  2. For anyone that doesn't know and wants a flower in their garden with a Leicester connection. The perennial Potentilla otherwise know as the Cinquefoil as per Leicester City crest and county coat of arms. A very hardy plant in various colours like white, pink, yellow etc. Good plant to attract bees and butterflies from spring to autumn.
  3. Would be great for our youngest FA Cup winner to rebuild his career with us and progress as we hoped back then
  4. Us oldies remember Shilts scored in a 5-1 win at the Dell in 1967 though unless you were there you missed it as no cameras. I for one didn't see it
  5. Banks was my childhood hero. Shilton was too as I went into teens and early adult. Wallington was very good too. Unfortunately Gordon had an off day in 1963 cup final though he was brilliant in the semi final. Honourable mentions to Keller, Flowers and Poole. Kasper of course is the man that combined long service with the major honours we all craved or thought simply impossible to win.
  6. As long as Jamie never plays against us be it league or cup. Must admit I like the idea of him playing in US or anywhere overseas. Be very odd watching him play for another English (or Welsh) side
  7. I'm going to be more optimistic and give it 10 minutes
  8. Await the mini boost to Saints morale
  9. Brilliant post imo
  10. Just to recall that wonderful sense of wonder, relief and realisation that a Leicester City side had won the most unexpected title ever. It may be tough now but I remember telling myself this is forever and can't be taken away.
  11. In my simple way the points you make about taxes, law and general politeness is the level of integration I hope for
  12. Tend to agree with this. What are the facts concerning social integration?
  13. When are the Democrats going to sort themselves out?
  14. How many that voted Brexit are no longer with us and how many that were not considered elderly in 2016 now in that bracket and will do so as time goes on.
  15. Trump comes out with such nonsense it is almost impossible to counter with a reasoned truth. He and his supporters just ignore it. Only hope is to persuade those with less closed minds.
  16. This oldie not voting Reform
  17. What a twit!
  18. But you suggest that older people vote only for what affects them directly. Many of us also take into account the welfare of their children and grandchildren beyond our lifespan.
  19. Have you seen the amount of free childcare provided by grandparents therefore relieving working parents and the state of a financial burden.
  20. In the words of George Formby "turned out nice again"
  21. Living down south my area is split mainly between Arsenal and Spurs fans with Chelsea in the mix. As you can imagine the Spurs mob have been quiet these last number of years. Of course we helped this in 2016. Assume I will see more Spurs shirts if they wangle a win.
  22. Yep. I think Spurs have a good recent record against Man U. 17 years since Spurs won a trophy. There will be fans about 23 or 24 that will struggle to remember their last pot.
  23. I still think the recent convictions of others for incitement is why the question of this group is under the spotlight
  24. Also at time when others have convicted for incitement to violence via tweets. Therefore people will draw comparisons and expect the law to be consistent
  25. What an awful thought
