  1. Unfortunately open away ends are the flip side to the nostalgia of traditional stadia.
  2. Oldham's Boundary Park. I went twice in the eighties. Horrid stadium, dump of a town, always raining (open away end), we often lost and you have to go through Oldam to get there. Thinking about watching us lose 2-0 away to them on a very cold and wet day in December still makes me shudder. Then they make the audacious move of installing the very early version of a plastic pitch. I am happy to admit that I have no problem with the fact that while we are planning a trip to Manchester United, they are limbering up to take on Maidenhead United.
  3. Mmmm. Think of how bad the New Den is and double it.
  4. Quite right. It would be enough to burst an aneurysm for most people.
  5. Quite right. Our fall has been about our club's poor decisions and management. We should still be able to stand tall and fight back without being patronised. .
  6. Could it possible that we get a manager who's philosophy is a quick transition, with the forwards playing mostly on the front foot? Jamie would surely bag 10+ goals in that system and I'd be desperate to see the game where he hit number 200. I know that it's a lot to ask but I can dream
  7. That is one heck of a counter punch 👊
  8. Bring on a dramatic introduction of..... Tony Pulis. Yay! No? OK then.
  9. That is pretty much the point that I was making.
  10. Out. Why, oh why won't we employ someone who won't make changes to the system even we are in free fall. So sad to see.
  11. He definitely went for his pocket. I was in the home stand and their fans saw it alongside Enzo's reaction to it.
  12. I sat amongst the Hull fans today. I loved how parents were pointing out Vards to their kids. He inspired a mix of fear and obvious respect from them. I was in the upper tier and there was none of the venom he gets from fans behind the goal. I was a little surprised at how amused people around me were when our fans gave it the ' Jamie Vardy, he's won more than you' response to the 'grass' crap.
  13. I was in the top tier opposite our fans today. Our support was good and at times impressive. The Hull fans were really up for this one but they only got anything going at the very start and after their goals (hilarious that Vards had no respect for that 🤣). We had good volume and we came out on top throughout, barring a couple of their signature songs. A very new experience for me sat amongst their lot.
  14. I was there, watching from the family enclosure because like you said, the Shrewsbury fans had been given pen 2. When the third and fourth goals went in for us and after all that had happened; I went so crazy that I was sqealing with joy. I was 15 years old and had seen nothing like it. I was exhausted after watching that game.
