It’s one of them appointments that you know he’s only a bad couple of results away from fans turning on him all the time.

He could go on a 20 game unbeaten run and follow it up with 3 defeats on the bounce and the fans then only remember the losses. He’s got a heck of a job to get the fans on his side.

Our crowd were at Marti at half time on the first game. We will be on Brussels back at the first back pass. And rightly so.

1 we had a premiership budget for the championship last season .... look how that ended

Hmm. We didn’t. We were paying inflated wages for bad performers. We made no signings, apart from Lascelles on a 6 month free. A PL budget would have been brining in some top talent.

Squad will be decimated this time around, so we have to be bringing people in and will have to embrace the academy. RM wouldn’t be considering it if he didn’t get some assurances we will be dabbling some how.

    And it begins…

Because all the labour, modelling, testing, investment and technology that went into to this was only American right?

Maybe we should have done this with the ARM processor once we realised it started to get popular and could have been a threat by non UK nationals.

It's funny how the modern way with the philosophy of if plan A doesn't work, just do plan A better is seen as progressive. If a manager was like that 30 years ago they wouldn't last very long.

Pep showed you if plan A wasnt working, then just spend £200m of your filthy oil money and it suddenly will.

Every guest they've had on Radio Leicester in the last week seems to think he's great. Glad that the beeb are representing the public opinion so well as always.

This is the way of the world with modern football. If he was a 4-4-2 merchant all the media would be portraying him as an old fashioned has been not fit for any club. But because he is mashup of all the possession styles, he is some sort of visionary who is either not given enough time, or just doesnt have the right tools at his disposal.

Brussel loves both full backs inverting doesn’t he? With a nice big gap between his CB’s to leave his sides vulnerable at the back.
You just know that means Hamza inverting from RB again rather than Aluko 😬 and probably means a new GK needed as I don’t think Jakub is good enough on the ball for this system.

                          Stolarczyk

                   Nelson   -   W-Brown

             Hamza  -  Skipp  -  Thomas

                  Braybrooke - Page

    Joseph              Evans                Alves

We arent buying a super duper ball playing keeper in L1.

Hopefully someone will want to buy JV from us.  We can’t have another season of him stinking out the games with his walking football, shit pass and get countered.

I think he has too much say over the style of play and control.

Yeah. Russell martin gonna be all in with JV, especially in L1. Expect another year of him standing on the ball inviting the press.

    Hate the appointment.

But pains me to say it that i would rather have Martin.

But its like saying i would rather have Syphilis than genital warts.

Agreed, I find it grossly negligent that we hear rumblings of key figures being away from the building year after year around this time, with the justification that people need to take time away. It's farcical. As an example, you wouldn't expect emergency service workers to routinely take time off over weekends or refuse night shifts. It comes with the responsibilities of the job. The key figures at the club are paid handsomely to make sacrifices, why can't they simply take a break in the 2 week window immediately after the campaign ends, so that everyone is back ready to go again from mid May?

The planning is horrendous. Yet again whoever comes in is going to have a huge job to do, not only in terms of clearing up the mess, but even in terms of player conditioning. I fear once more we'll be entering the season with a group of players who are simply not up to speed physically and will not be able to compete at the required levels both in game and over the course of the season.

Are these rumblings just made up stuff on here, or do we have proof that no one is working?

I said V2. Not sure why you’ve pivoted from LLM API calls to real time bidding.

I cant find any specs on V2 that make that claim. My comment was about data centers, thought made it clear that more goes on than just LLM calls.

  11. 1 hour ago, danny. said:

Latency isn't an issue at all. APIs are nowhere near instant now, even the quickest models have perceivable delays of seconds not ms. Starlink V2 latency is < 5ms, assuming AI satellites are in that ballpark or even double that - it wouldn't be noticeable for gaming let along LLM API calls.

It is. We are talking data centers here that may need to communicate with each other. The latency between you contacting an LLM and getting the result isn't the only thing going on.  To get results from an LLM requires communication across a huge amount of nodes, and when these are hit at scale there needs to be fast, transactional compute ensuring the huge amount of requests can happen in a timely manner. Then there is all the transactional logging going on, and also some more traditional steps happening across lots of different aps.  Also, there is black magic i dont understand with saving thought requests from LLM calls, hence why you can resume conversations over long context periods.

Not seen anything to suggest Starlink latency is <5ms. Their own docs suggest 25->60 in 'good' areas. God knows what node to node would be like. https://starlink.com/legal/documents/DOC-1470-99699-90

Data centers do more than just output LLM requests. I spent several years working in the digital ads space. Real time bidding requires a huge number of request across supply/demand nodes to complete all steps in 100ms. Sometimes this arms race meant Demand Platforms paying big bucks to get the physical infrastructure as physically close to the supply sources as possible to gain an advantage. Can't see anything like that happening when the latency of one request is 60ms in the best case scenario from satellite to earth.

Any manager would have been expected to get them promoted with the team they had, like what a lot of fans said about us under Enzo

He still had to get them up via the play offs though so hardly inspiring, they actually finished 4th in the end.

Interestingly, they had the opportunity for automatics and after we battered them they blew it.

Leeds had fallen apart - what a great time to play them.

I imagine his salary has taken another cut

We are talking about him being probably 10x what a L1 player earns after the cut.

Seriously, no one paying him the wages we are offering.

If we sell, we will be paying his wages. Russell comes in and tells the board he would be essential - he stays.

I think Top being so in love with Maresca plays a huge part in his decision making, Maresca’s style got us promoted before, so how do we go back and try and replicate it, unfortunately Russell Martin becomes a realistic option in that conversation.

But we all know how this will go if appointed, it’s just possession based football to another extreme.

You’re then relying on pretty much a 10/10 transfer window to make it potentially work, with so many specific players that have technical qualities, you fail to get in the right ball-playing goalkeeper, defenders and midfielders, then the style will just collapse like a house of cards.

Cardiff managed to get promoted last season by being possession dominant, but it begs the question, why on earth didn’t we just appoint Brian Barry-Murphy last summer.

Someone needed the balls to tell Top that Russell is actually different to Maresca.  Russell is like a joke tribute version of all the possession managers on steroids. Southampton uses to pass sideways across the defensive line in the premier league whilst pinned back near the goalkeeper - against top opposition. It was almost self harm.

Brian Barry-Murphy suffered from being involved in the era where anyone who wasnt Enzo was put on the sh1t list by our players. They didnt like his training - which makes sense really because our players are largely not fit enough.

Is anyone surprised who else would this regime target? McCarron wasn’t going to deviate from what Rudkin and Aiyawatt want..

Unless McCarron is also in the 'they've just got to get Brussel out of the way' camp.

I cant imagine anyone at Man City thought that Russell Martin was anything other than a joke.
