At least TAA has some decent experience in European football. Mainoo will be eaten alive by elite players. -

Exactly. I can't understand what Fabregas is suggesting, Foden to start free roaming around the pitch because of his talent? These players behave like robots because the managers demand specific things from them. They even have restricted squares where they can move. The fact is that even in the "best" first 30mins it was the same sideways awful football without urgency. There were only 2-3 instances the whole game where the team played more direct football. Fact No2 is that the left side is awful. Trippier will eventually make huge mistakes. He's tired, unfit, whatever. If anyone believes this team under this manager and tactics has any chance to win against teams like Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Portugal or even Netherlands is absolutely deluded. -

Idk, I have a very bad feeling about this. This 3-5-2 can cause severe problems. Zivkovic on the right is a very underrated player and Trippier will have a mare. -

A national team can't find any other Danish player to call up for a major tournament and have Vesty playing as a LB? Absolutely madness. -

Is this Andrich lad going back to Guandanamo after the tournament? -

I think Scotland were brilliant in the first millisecond of the game. It went downhill afterwards. -
They did but they were still playing some good football during this bad run.

I can't really understand why we didn't go after Will Still, unless he was a totally unrealistic target. Lens had a decent season and they decided to appoint him. I guess I'm the only one here who rates highly this guy? 🤔

I'm not a big fan of Potter but I'd rather have him if the alternatives are Moyes, Corberan, Cooper or OGS "The Wheel". So if we can't appoint an ambitious, young and fiery manager, Potter is OK I guess.

I agree with you that everything it's just an hypothesis. There's no way he's getting the sack, especially now. What I'm saying is, if someone above there decided to sack him there are managers out there to take the job right away just for the tournament. If I was Klopp I would accept the job without any doubt just for the month of the Euro. Highly likely to become a hero out of nowhere. The talent is there, this team needs a decent manager not even a top one imo. -

If something's not working you're trying to fix it. Where's the desperation coming from? Did Southgate had all these players training with him more than 20 days all season? National teams are all about tactically clever and competent managers. You get your tactics right according to the strength of the squad and you can win it. It happened several times before. Every single team that won the Euro had managers with character and proper tactics. Here you are: Denmark 1992, Team was called to participate late. Nielsen was already known as a very decent tactical manager. Greece 2004. Needless to say how Rehhagel managed to have a bunch of nobodies win the tournament by spot on tactical masterclass. Spain 2008: Aragones, the "father" of tiki taka. Exceptional tactical manager. Spain 2012: Del Bosque, continuing the tiki taka but also expanding it by exploiting gaps and space between the lines. I can go on and on with all the years of the tournament and more in depth if you want. Where is Southgate standing? Wtf is this guy doing there? He's clueless tactically, he can barely speak with proper sentences. Do you guys believe there is a chance this team will win the Euro under Southgate? You can't be serious. -

I don't understand why we can't sack him before the Euro. It's not like these players are playing together week in week out all season. The defense is generally weak by default, you can't do much there, but a more tactical capable manager can utilise the whole team to play according to its strength even within 2 days of training. The system with just Kane will never work. You can scrap some results against Slovenia and Serbia but there's no way this approach will work vs teams like Spain, France or Italy. Either way having Southgate as the national team manager is one of the most bizarre things. There's no logic, common sense or whatever behind this. Even if you ask foreign fans about it 100% of them will tell you Southgate needs to go. I know a lot of them and not a single one understands how on earth Southgate is England's manager. -
Exactly. I think this result is disastrous. First of all, it's a result that may be demoralising for a lot of players just 1 week before the tournament. Secondly, Southgate's post match interview was shocking. The guy lives in his own universe. I'm certain he'll play right away the card of long season fatigue or whatever after the team fails to qualify from the group stage. Trust me, this team under this manager and his tactics will finish 4th in the group. It's bizarre Mainoo was even called. Palmer, despite his decent season, should be 3rd option at best. The defense is a laughing stock of overweight, unfit, slow players. Any creativity going forward was killed by the cut of both Grealish and Madders. This team is more flat than a McDonald's plastic burger. Bellingham and Foden can't carry on their shoulders the whole team. Kane is.. Kane. Going back and forward like Benny Hill without a purpose or with the only purpose to destroy any decent build up just to play the ball sideways. Sideways was a great movie, it's not working in football.

I'm struggling to recall a world class player in the history of football who didn't win a single trophy. I've never said he's not a good striker. I just don't believe any team will achieve anything significant playing with Kane as a lone striker.
-
It's not too late. Sack him and give it to Pep or even Klopp/Ancelotti just for the tournament. These players will never play like a proper team under Southgate no matter the talent.
-
Is this a sarcastic post?
-
I'm afraid it's not a coincidence Bayern didn't win anything this season with Kane. This player forces managers to tactically adapt the whole team around him. Bayern will fail next season again and I'm not quite sure most people will understand why this is happening. I would only start Kane on a 4-3-1-2 or even a 4-4-2, this only if I even picked him to start. I would probably play a 3-4-1-2 with Toney and Watkins.

These friendlies so close to the tournament are quite important imo. There is a reason all the "big" teams arrange friendlies against generally very weak opponents. Scoring many goals allows them to bond the team better, relax the tensions and stress before a big tournament. England struggling against Iceland or Germany struggling against Greece isn't a good sign. We knew Germany has serious problems but it seems we're not in a good shape either.
-
It's going to be a major surprise if we qualify through the group stage.
-
It will possibly take another 8 years until people realise playing with Kane upfront is the recipe for disaster. It's absolutely criminal other strikers have not been given a single chance so many years, including Vardy.

Win what? The group or the tournament? This group is very tricky. I don't know why everyone is so optimistic. -
Everyone would rather have Sarri than Cooper but Sarri isn't coming to Leicester.

On my way. Thank you.
