  1. I haven't noticed Chris Popov anywhere recently, is he injured? Had a lot of praise last season I hear with his similarities to Vardy in how he'd press from the front.
  2. Not done my research, but I remember how well he made his RB Salzburg team, especially in Europe, but bringing that German way of playing football to Leicester is something I'd love to see with this squad. Despite losing Haaland for a lot of the season and against a superior Bayern, he still finished second I think he's worth a punt to refresh the squad environment a bit, if we felt Rodgers has hit the end of his tenure.
  3. That's the beauty of football, you can see the same game from all different points of view.
  4. I'd replace tielemens for praet tbh, it's just not been the best of days for him. But KDH and Madders performances have been really πŸ”₯and showing their importance.
  5. As we've shown there, if your gonna recycle possession, then doing fast can really allow an opportunity to arrise through finding a gap. We've just got to take those opportunities just as quick.
  6. I believe if we were to get money for youri, signing a winger needs to be first priority as I believe Praet and Soumare can fill in there. While having more wingers available would allow us to be collectively better and more aggressive on the press and in advanced areas.
  7. This is true, and from what I've seen is that I'm sure Rodgers ideally wants to play with wingers in a 4231 or 433 but the lack of wingers sees 3atb with wb's is the only way to provide appropriate width to the system in terms of stretching play and attacking from angles.
  8. Considering Everton's new defensive crisis with injuries of Godfrey and Mina, I could see that being a possible avenue to sell him, even though Vestergaard and Tarkowski would be a slow CB partnership.
  9. But that still means we need to remove the mistakes of giving heavily inflated wages to some players i.e. Bertrand. However, I think the great thing about Top tho is he's learned all the lessons from his father and at only 37 leading a billion pounds worth company, he's gonna become a even more experienced businessman and added to that love for the club the family has shown, I believe we are in the safe hands for the present and the future wherever such tall ambition takes us for example that new stadium concept looks bloody brilliant. The achievement of even coming close of competing with the financial and established powers of the top Manchester and London clubs is remarkable and should never be forgotten and if we someday have a change in manager or set of players, I believe we will get back competing again.
  10. I personally think smart move to keep him for this year. Despite no signings, we are coming into a season with a very strong first eleven with less games possibly providing the competitive advantage arsenal had the year prior. They finished 8th and the season without europe they managed to climb 2 extra places to 5th, granted a higher expenditure but collectively our first eleven is still superior to their 21/22 side. If we get top 7 which if we are better with injuries, I still believe so, then the value of our players will increase such like Fofana. Therefore, the smartest decision would be to hold off for a higher windfall later on.
  11. Hmm that is true, there's definetly places we can do that like Vestergaard for a U21 CB or even Choudhury sold/loaned. Would Stolarcyk count as U21 to replace one of last year's GK's?
  12. I kind of hope Wright sticks around due to the limited recourses on the wide areas. If he's willing he could really work into that spot like KDH did when waiting to around December time.
  13. I believe the success of Martin Glover replacing Congerton is a big indicator of what success we have in recruitment. We have all heard the failures in recruitment of Congerton at Celtic and those same errors kind of happened here. Glover and the new head of medicine can really set us back on the right track onwards to an upwards trajectory again so there is reason for optimism in our structure as long as we begin to cut our wages and utilise the loan and youth systems to our advantage. The fact he sold us Vestergaard for £15m from Southampton shows he might even improve us selling off deadwood e.g. Vestergaard and Bertrand again pls. 🧐
  14. I think it's a good level to start as he's already starting much earlier than Callum Wright and KDH in LG2. Plus, I agree about your point of being next to pros every week as it's experience next to senior players possibly working for their families where you need to perform in the present for a living and at 18, that could really elevate him to the next level in terms of maturity for example.
  15. Hmm I dunno about this one, as Fofana and Ndidi settled instantly from their respective leagues as well as Soyuncu and Mahrez eventually. But I agree there are a few that something hasn't gone completely right.
  16. This is a brilliant viewpoint over this. The constraints of any attack in a possession system is starting from the foundation of defence. If there is no foundation, there is no build or at least confidence in that build. And as we all know, confidence can play a big factor in this squad.
  17. If we can get a decent fee for him I think it may be best to sell him for the greater good of our potential recruitment plan. There is a chance he may adjust but that is a risk to our season overall considering the issues he had in that previous season as well as filling tielemens void dependent on his departure. At the very least it allows us to recoup from that poor last summer window and frees up funds for a move for Colwill if the opportunity arises.
  18. There is discussed talk on Hojberg available for transfer from spurs. Whenever I've seen him he offers a bit more steel, tough in the tackle and shows a fair bit of ball playing in his locker. Lastly, he seems personally someone who'd fit in a Rodgers team with him being comfortable maintaining and retrieving possession. Only if Tielemens left but I see the value he'd offer, potentially as someone to support KDH if he stepped up to fill that Tielemens shaped hole. What is everyone's thoughts on Hojberg?
  19. It's possible that the need of trimming the squad could be phrased as opening up the wage bill due to high percentage of turnover equating to this very financial outflow as well as the need for a smaller squad in response to no european football. This is likely as you've mentioned thus may temper the worry about whether we are strapped for cash, plus as we've shown if the right player comes available we are able to go the extra mile giving me confidence in our ability to recruit i.e. going higher than we were likely initially willing for Fofana at Β£32m. In the end, the number of personnel in terms controlling incomings and outgoing is also important for squad balance as well as financial feasibility to meet the 28 man squad size. I'd be very happy to let go off Perez to open up for Lookman as I doubt Perez will develop any further than the standard he is now evidenced by his spell here, while Lookman could still very well develop further with the reduced pressure of securing a permanent place supported by the development he's shown in stages over the season.
  20. I think it's evident he's got the work rate and athleticism combined with the instincts of a defender. I agree though the physical side of the game he hasn't fully developed into yet as well maybe lost that willingness to attack in the advanced areas in his initial days. Can't forget it took Justin and Chilwell a little while to become the players they are, and I remember it happened by something suddenly clicking. Nonetheless I believe Thomas will continually improve, and at his age I still have a lot of faith in that.
  21. I agree, the bad start of the season didn't help. Fofana injury in the last pre season game, Soyuncu Euros, losing the top 4 for a second time etc lead to negative circumstances surrounding the side starting the season. However I do feel this camp has difficulty dealing with that adversity considering how these circumstances can easily turn into extended drops in form.
  22. To be honest looks like we went there not to be beat which was delivered so not too bad. Felt a bit meh about the game though. Defensively strong but constantly isolated in their side of the pitch. However looking strong for Southampton, with Wolves likely to lose to Liverpool thus 8th is a strong possibility.
  23. Am I remembering wrong, but I can't remember going 5 at the back to match the opposition working often. Prediction we change the formation at half time. Nevertheless we have rewritten the script many times so let's get those three points to go 8th. 🦊🦊
  24. The fact that Barnes has had 24 G/A's in all competitions despite the number of question marks made over his performances this season is worthy of a lot of credit. Top performance today, him at his peak level may just be a joy to watch next season. πŸ‘€
