  1. I really, really hope you’re right but even an improvement on points and style of football would make me happy.
  2. I have asked this question numerous times but never had an answer - good luck with that one mate. A “refresh” including coaches is a must surely. Look at history how much the elite managers changed their back room staff to add a new voice - Fergie as an example was excellent at this.
  3. With our limited budget - surely not a single part of Leicester’s recruitment is thinking let’s ship out Thomas and then have to replace him? Look how the last back up LB option worked out?
  4. Sadly this is spot on. Even when Chilwell was slight, he was physically more advanced than Thomas currently is. That doesn’t mean Thomas won’t be a solid squad member for the foreseeable though.
  5. 100% agreed mate. Playing devils advocate though - both sides of the fence typically already have their answers ready and this forum/debate is best when the comments are read and not generalized. We all want Leicester to succeed, playing high pressing football (that we have previously done under Rodgers).
  6. So we only answer questions based on history? Nice. But out of courtesy, I’ll answer your question. 100% at the time, with the progress made under Rodgers (huge contrast from the Puel style/squad harmony from the outside) on top of the league table (as of the 6th December so not all season) it was NOT naive to do it. I don’t know the exact numbers but his pay rise/length of contract given could be deemed excessive rather than naive. But the moment that contract was signed it meant (rightly or wrongly) expectations were raised - or is that naive to think?
  7. I wish I was that deliberate right now mate. Sleep walking is accurate. As a sensible poster but also a fan of Rodgers, can I ask your opinion on what you think about Rodgers and us if we repeated this season again (obviously minus the European football). Surely, on the pitch - improvements need to be made/seen?
  8. Let me edit that but well done for proving my point of ignoring both my question and original comment. Clearly being up with my new born baby, means I missed a full stop. 🤦🏻‍♂️
  9. Hahaha. Come on now, I’m not discrediting what he achieved in those seasons. I’m questioning the repeated mistakes he has made this season. In 30 years of Premier League football we have set an unwanted record of goals conceded from set-pieces. Our turgid football (is it any worse than Puel ball) and much more. Feels like any time a Rodgers apologist replies on this thread it’s not directly to what other people say. I’ll copy and paste my question to you - but if next season ends the same as this season with repeated mistakes - does Rodgers still have such loyal supporters on here?
  10. Whilst I totally agree mate. Mount’s numbers this season have been class. I read someone stating it’s ESR and Grealish’s spots that should be under threat.
  11. If you’re calling out BS mate, at least give a factual narrative. As Ric said above it was a third into the season, I’ve gone and looked back it was December 6th 2019 so hardly top 4 all season. I’m not even loudly banging the Rodgers out drum anymore as it’s clearly not happening yet but if next season ends the same as this season with repeated mistakes - does Rodgers still have such loyal supporters on here?
  12. It’s quite obvious to me, Rodgers rightly or wrongly seems to have divided fans. He isn’t going anywhere this summer, but we have to all hope that this transfer window works out better than the last one. Some starting 11 players like Youri, Cags are likely to leave - which will see a challenge but also a “refresh” as Rodgers has said. The big question for me, at what stage would his “credit” in the bank of his first two seasons run out?
  13. Absolutely ridiculous. Will he be sold to Chelsea (other top 6 club) for £50m - most likely not. Will he be adequate (relatively cheap) cover, not cause any unrest in the dressing room etc etc? Most definitely. Surely Luke and the management team know he could bulk a bit but to write him off is madness.
  14. Hadn’t thought of that but a great shout. I still feel that we’re hoping to get beast Soumare but we’ll never end up seeing it. Similar to Gray, physically he had all the raw attributes just never clicked for him. If we can re-coup our money on Soumare, he’s got to go surely? Rodgers has made a couple of references to players that don’t run, that’s aimed at Soumare isn’t it?
  15. I have said this and totally agree. My only gripe is that Rodgers doesn’t just spout off the same nonsense - “We’ll go back again tomorrow and work on it” etc etc But often goes on the charm offense of the other club/offends us by saying stuff like we were happy being in the league he got there etc.
  16. Soumare is big, yes. As for not being slow - when I see him get ran past in every appearance my eyes tell me something different. I would say that he has shown glimpses of using his big frame since here but not to the level you’d expect. Compare how KDH with a much smaller frame uses his body to shield the ball. Soumare from this seasons showing is not physically fit for the Prem IMO.
  17. I bring up League One as you said about a fifth place finish being good enough for Leicester? Puel was SACKED after he didn’t fulfil the aspirations so WHY would you compare his reign if feel the need to belittle my League One comment? Rodgers media narrative for his first two seasons was “we want to disrupt the traditional top 6”, on a side note with 5000/1 odds we did win the league only three years prior his arrival but let’s forget that shall we? I’m actually baffled how the Rodgers in crew can be so blinded by his own media BS. Do I expect us to finish in the top 6 every season? No Did we have a genuine chance when spent 37/38 league games there? Yes I know that Rodgers isn’t going anywhere and I genuinely want to be proved wrong about him being on a downward trajectory with our club whilst also have this view - Even a rational BR out can credit Rodgers for getting us in that position but not also doubt certain decisions that OUR manager made that caused a shortfall when all is said and done. Also, well done for glossing over my second message about THIS season. Got to love a bit of bias on here 🤦🏻‍♂️
  18. My only concern about CDK is his physicality. Look at why Fofana has slotted in so easily? He’s rapid, aggressive, has a swagger about him (confidence) which in turns is a perfect fit for a very physically demanding league. Then look at Soumare as the other end of the spectrum - a players lack of pace/acceleration is shown up massively in the Prem as full of speedsters etc.
  19. Also, I think you’ll find mine and others frustration about Rodgers isn’t even the bottled top 5 positions but the unwanted record breaking set-piece issue. Turgid football, obsession with possession, losing to our rivals in a trophy we wanted to try to defend with at least some credibility, the last minute goals/defeats. Ohhh and some extremely deluded and irrational post match conferences. All of which have come in a season where we’re not punching above our weight financially as you commented.
  20. I think we’ll have to agree to disagree on this one mate. The club absolutely had to do something as at the time, we were flying high in the top 4 spots and it looked more likely to achieve that than the 5th place finishes (particularly in 19/20) - so losing Rodgers had zero positives, especially to a direct rival in Arsenal. As for your question about not being good enough for Leicester City, should we continue to remind ourselves of our League One tour? In all sports, clubs/individual athletes rise and fall at various stages whether it’s due to investment, infrastructure, luck, timing or a combination of all four. Before a ball was kicked, of course the board would have been thrilled but when put context into both top 5 finishes, they would surely be looked back in history as “what could have been.”
  21. Whilst I don’t fully agree with what @Master Fox was saying it’s hard to not acknowledge that Brendan and his agent didn’t play a blinder after that alleged Arsenal interest to secure that new and improved contract. Also, as a player who cost x amount compared to a free/cheaper alternative, that comes with greater expectations so is it not reasonable for fans to expect more from one of the highest paid managers in the league? Alas, less excuses for our awful defending of set-pieces (when x comes back, or lack of time, or even worse his ignorance to any issues earlier in the season).
  22. He is the polar opposite to Kasper in the sense he is a tall and commanding GK - Potter brought him in to replace a top shot stopper in Mat Ryan but a midget in terms of keepers. Could think of worse keepers but still hope it’s Pope just think he’ll be too expensive.
  23. Watching Keinan Davis not do a lot other than be a big nuisance up top, it got me thinking. Would actually be happy with Iheanacho going if get decent money and having a big physical/mobile striker to bring on if plan A isn’t working as his replacement. That’s another flaw in Rodgers if ask me, his philosophy of football has a snobbery about it which results in some very turgid performances.
  24. Looks like Berge has only got two years left on his contract so think a lot hinges on who gets that coveted play-off space. Brennan Johnson impressed me again to be fair.
  25. I came on here to just type this - for a big lump he’s extremely mobile and can play football too.
