  1. The big difference is Madders thrives in a slower possession style of football. Barnes is by far our most hampered player as it cuts off all that grass in front of him to run into. That is something that will stop Harvey from making the England squad regularly and being a top, top player sadly. You could argue that Barnes himself needs to adapt his game but imagine Pep got his hands on him, you’d see noticeable improvement (like Sterling) - so come on Rodgers, let’s see your coaching ability.
  2. Are we still saying that Potter isn’t a good manager? They’ll def finish above us this season.
  3. If Rodgers hadn’t been calling out Cags for a lack of aggression, I’d tend to agree but one thing you wouldn’t associate with Tarkowski is a soft under belly. Realistic, he’ll probably go to Newcastle to earn a huge wedge anyway.
  4. A serious question - at any stage yesterday did it look like the players were “playing for Rodgers”? Not a single player put their head above the parapet - could you alternatively ask has Rodgers started to lose the dressing room?
  5. So how can they not coach/encourage Kasper to use his advantage of using his hands? When he punched the ball from the next corner it completely changed their next couple of corners as all they kept doing was putting it right into that area between the 6 yard box and the penalty spot knowing he’ll be rooted to his line.
  6. Agree with this but it makes you question why you wouldn’t start our best defensive and tallest FB in Castagne. I also feel that if Brendan is going to stick with 1 up top that he needs to identify a taller/mobile vocal point. Not at one stage did their 6ft + CB’s look at all threatened when we aimlessly looped balls their way.
  7. When you wake up and still have the same frustrations it’s pretty annoying isn’t it. I can hold my hand up and say I’ve been Rodgers out for some time but happy to be proven wrong as that would mean that Leicester are performing and most importantly learning from the same continued mistakes/flaws. A comment that I do want to throw out there is the suggestion that we as fans can’t want a manager out without naming a ready made replacement. Did any of us suggest Claudio and look what happened there? I’m pretty sure that Liverpool fans weren’t waving Klopp in banners/flags before he joined. Could name many more successful appointments recently that weren’t ideas directly from fans so can that very awful excuse please be put to bed?
  8. Agreed. By a huge margin our best FB at defending and particularly in 1 on 1 situations. I genuinely feel quite sad seeing Ricardo now, one of my good friends (for his sins) is a Chelsea season ticket holder and said when Essien did his ACL that he was a shell of a player afterwards and can’t get that thought out of my head about Ricky.
  9. Sadly it’s all about his PR. I said it earlier we need to ignore his post match comments, I have for a while now and feel much more “meh” about him, he could write Jose love letters during the 90 mins for all I care. However, making us not look inept at defending OR attacking corners would be a much more area of focus for me. Binning off this passive and quite frankly anti-football brand would also be bigger things to hope for than who he flirts with after a match for future job prospects/boys club etc.
  10. I must block out some of the OTT comments or I just appreciate that we all love football for the highs and then dissect what causes repeated lows. Roma in Serie A have lost 10 in 35 games and 5th in the league so of course you could argue that with our recent investment, considerably higher net spend and Rodgers very handsome salary (to name a few) that if all the stars aligned we could have hoped to get a result there.
  11. Great point. Watching Jose and his Assistant (couldn’t work out who it was) pacing the touch line is something clearly missing under the Rodgers regime. I’m not foolish to say passion guarantees results/performances but you could argue that looking from the outside in that it’s all too comfortable/dictatorship with Rodgers the only voice from our coaching set-up and he’s gone on record 100’s of times about he believes in positive affirmation from his youth playing days. I’m sorry but sometimes a complacent/lack of urgent performance could be quickly lifted with a rousing call to arms, similar to a KDH sliding tackle etc
  12. Now that I totally agree with. Emotions are flying high and we should rightfully look forward rather than the odd “12 years ago we were playing Rotherham” as that’s what my non City fans say who can’t see our clear business model which has been extremely successful. However, having a healthy debate about what Rodgers or any future manager could do is a good thing in my eyes. I just want to see much quicker passing for one thing - my head hurts trying to fathom how we can go from that pressing style of football to a disjointed and obsession of sideways pointless possession club. Rodgers needs to consider what our identity is as part of this “refresh”
  13. One thing I will say though is that we ALL need to stop getting worked up by post match comments from Rodgers. It would be career suicide for him to say what he would privately say to the team/coaches. The lack of learning/same continued mistakes (goals conceded from corners, 60% toothless possession, no style of football right now) is a much more damning issue.
  14. Yet this all started by your antagonizing comment about fellow Foxes fans comments on here? That in itself is sadly more of a bizarre comment if ask me. I typically agree with a lot of your posts having been a reader for years and new member but strongly dislike how comments dismissing valid faults with our performance is “throwing a tantrum”.
  15. At what stage did my comment suggest Rodgers out though? I get it, every single post of yours is clearly Rodgers in but surely you can admit the performance was similar ilk of a plucky lower league side against a giant. This Roma side are not world beaters and should feel disappointed with the lack of press/urgency in our passes. All whilst we conceded yet again from a corner.
  16. I’m sorry but how was my comment bizarre? You do realise that the definition of fan is - A fan, aficionado, or supporter is someone who has an intense, occasionally overwhelming liking and enthusiasm for a sporting club So rather than acknowledging that fans are entitled to question decisions/tactics we’re supposed to just accept losing to an extremely average, quite frankly unimaginative Roma side that aren’t getting into the Champions League places in Serie A btw.
  17. Don’t forget the pathetic Spurs collapse too.
  18. So true, 2 up top was expected but why not go 442?
  19. So you’re happy with us conceding our 101st set piece goal? Happy with a performance that at best is turgid but clueless and pathetic is a more fair description?
  20. Rodgers is at fault for the majority of the failed game plan but do the players not appreciate the size of the game? European semi final with a final at stake 😡
  21. I kind of see where you’re coming from but it’s very, very simple. Rodgers and his philosophy has run its course with us. We have zero players breaking the lines, gone are quick one touch passes into space/triangles and replaced with turgid possession obsession with every player taking an additional touch. Why go 2 up top and then not have Iheanacho make a CB worry about where he’s going? Could argue that Vardy was even more isolated in the second half, hindsight is a beautiful thing but imagine Daka and Vardy keeping their CB’s questioning what to do rather than constantly doubling up on Vardy!
  22. Probably minor in the scheme of all the faults with this performance/Rodgers decisions but how much would we have benefitted from Soyuncu’s raking passes. The whole team are devoid of ideas
  23. Ricardo has lost possibly two yards of pace hasn’t he?
  24. I’m so torn as been in the Rodgers out camp for quite some time - I think the Forest game kept me firmly in that camp. However, as others have mentioned he isn’t going anywhere as 1) the money, he’s simply too expensive to get rid of 2) The media backlash (rightly or wrongly) but Rodgers has spent years cozying up with them so doubt they’d write/say positive things on the situation. With this in mind, I think I’d be more willing to get behind Rodgers if he also refreshed his coaching staff, would love to see a Joe Jordan aka no nonsense, ex pro coach involved. I don’t know why but that Chris Davis screams brown nose and a yes man to me - completely unfounded claim just my gut feeling whenever I see him.
  25. This is the reality for me. Throw in a languid central midfielder with little game time equals an expensive mistake. Taking a small hit whilst he still has that Lille reputation and going back to the well seems the best bet.
