You can respect King the player but have doubts over his ability/intentions as a coach. He’s inexperienced but has been part of various coaching set-ups that have commented on the “culture” yet done nothing to change it. The biggest thing for me with our next appointment, clear the decks from a coaching perspective as they’ve underperformed, if King is deemed good enough to keep on, great! If not, thanks for the memories but let’s move forward.

Fatawu was extremely frustrating for most of last season but before his injury in the PL, didn’t he have the highest numbers of completed successful take ons? He will have a very good PL/top European career, whilst we’ll likely be bouncing around League One/Championship during this time period. Some people on here need to give their head a wobble about Abdul - he’s our only senior player, who will make us even a smidge of profit.

I completely agree about pace not being the deciding factor, you named some very special players though. For every Hazard, there are 4/5 (if not many more) less technically blessed professionals but they’ve made the cut due to their athleticism.

I’ve said numerous times about Monga’s lack of pace. He’s definitely more in the mould of Stephy rather than Abdul from a pace perspective. Monga’s ceiling is still a mystery but one thing for sure, he will be playing at a higher league level than us for the majority of his career.

Might as well just close this thread until half way through pre-season. Whoever the manager is, if they don’t have their full support of coaches and our fitness coach (if you can call him that) is still here, we’re cooked.

Just so I can keep up (logging on here a lot less lately) but people are now genuinely calling out Enzo because of the dosser and pub player Coady? Yes, we had a huge slump under Enzo and I was vocal about it BUT name another manager in recent history who does what he does when first comes in. Morale on the floor and he won what 16 out of the first 17?

Weren’t their reports that he didn’t feel safe around the city? Clearly not condoning violence but that statement alone, would suggest that he knows that there is outside pressure on him. The standard radio silence is what winds me up the most, we don’t have one sensible “football” person at the club!

Such a weird take on here about Monga. He’s the poster child for academy players over the years - lots of hype, probably hasn’t lived up to it but I will appreciate the fact that he’ll likely be one of our biggest sales. Will be interested in how his career pans out, genuinely have no idea which way it will go. Good luck lad when you play for a team that aren’t filled with dossers.

How Blackburn didn’t capitalize on our awful start to the second half is beyond me. We are such a hideous team to watch/like aren’t we? If we have more than 2/3 players still around from this season, then it’s too many!!

I loved Ricardo like most but I can’t separate the pre-injury Riccy to the one who comes out as Captain with absolute weak waffle. If he had an ounce of leadership quality, we surely don’t get relegated in such a bang average league. Our downfall is way more than one player but the lack of standards/effort from the players needs to be scrutinized so much more.

Spot on!! Rodgers then did away with the last successful elements and brought in his mates. How Top/Rudkin just gave him the keys to the club, should be more documented.

Agreed with all of this until the Under comparison. The lad was rapid and under utilized whilst here IMO. Under’s assist for Vardy when they broke at pace and squared it, should have been a common feature under Rodgers!

This is what winds me up so much. Our record transfer fee (Youri) is roughly £10m less than Palace’s FFS! Yet, we went out and still offer obscene wages to dross. Whilst also appearing to do zero homework on their character. Brentford have their “no dickhead” policy yet we seem to only want weak, spoilt mercenaries.

If he goes for that, that’s the same fee that League One Birmingham paid for Stansfield. 🤯

We’re going to take such a hit on our players aren’t we? Fire-sale at the King Power just to pay for Jannik and co’s PL wages in League One. Realistically, we’ll make a small profit on Abdul and couple of others. Nelson and Monga will make us a few million each too won’t they?

Jannik sums up why 99% of professional football clubs don’t offer players over 30, long contracts. Not only is the lad physically ridiculously slow but he somehow seems to be getting worse physically and mentally. Awful signing and dread to think how much he has cost during his time here. One good season under Enzo, five anonymous/turgid other ones!!
