  1. It doesn't matter if staff support other clubs they are professional people.
  2. There was nothing but good intentions when "upgrading" our training ground. The reality is it looks alot nicer. The facilities are slightly better. Was the 90 millions that was spent, spent as well as it could have been, no. Do we have alot more footballing facilities than we had? Not really.
  3. Nobody could have been worse than Rodgers and Watching Rodgersball.
  4. I am an eternal optimist! I do not leave anything to chance however. From what I have seen, our previous success was in most part by accident, ( we stumbled upon extremely competent key football staff members, Pearson & Walsh) I believe we want to win, given the choice, however there were no plans to be as successful as we were, and when we did achieve success, we had no idea how to capitalise on it, it seemed that some were embarrassed to be champions, after the fact as most were not doing anything different to pinpoint their role in it, because it was a minor role if at all. I always say people are people. What I mean by this is that, the standards which one holds themselves to range from exceptional to crap, and this is no different at LCFC or most clubs or business outside of football. Just because you have the privilege of wearing the club badge, some folk believe they are exceptional or special, they are treated as such because they are wearing the club badge... Its just a badge. Actions and results over a period demonstrate your capabilities, value, and overall competence. Rudkin like all of us will have faults, and strengths. When discussing his value to the club on here, the general uninformed posters will be negative when we lose and positive when we win. That's natural, but we must be fair and give credit when due, and critique when due, with the same neutrality. I don't believe he is exceptional, if he is, he somehow would have been able to keep the wages down, and get key players committed to the club again, this has not happened. I don't belive he is competent or incompetent, as we were able to achieve success with him, or in spite of him, irrespective if you are pro or anti Rudkin. So he is not the main issue. The accountability will not happen. Like you often write he has been at the club seemingly forever. What happens is that once you are seen to be excellent within your role, you will at some point be up for promotion, if one is exceptional then you will be successful whatever your role, as talent and work ethic will always find a way. However if you are lacking in either then you will be promoted into incompetence. Due to his length of service he is responsible for promoting people who are in roles, where they do not have the passion to look into accountability. So the operations of said roles just occur with minimal accountability. Why look for problems with x department when if any arise you can be responsible for the failings, even if a minimal % for the x issue. For example: Well you hired x person (who is poor) so maybe you are incompetent? Nobody wants these questions to be asked of themselves. So maybe for a real revolution, the club would need a very competent head person who is not afraid to shape the club into an efficient machine. This is highly unlikely to happen!!! Who will take such an interest, who will find the reasons why x department is failing, how can you proportion the % of blame to what staff? The time, interest and money it would cost would be huge, and the replacements.. Would they be any better? So when all is said and done, we are just left with... Hope that some key staff in key roles are highly competent and we once again will be successful.
  5. He was not selected against villa... So it's more than that. He has / had a value... So he was never going to be castagated or vilified as the situation requires careful action. He is a great defender.. Yes some flaws but he should be in the x11and definitely in the squad when fit.
  6. Try to be optimistic πŸ™‚
  7. I didn't see that against Villa.
  8. He had not beet training to an expected professional standard. It was telling that Saddler didn't include him in the squad!!! He must have alienated himself from the first team players not just BR and I am a huge BR critic.
  9. I'd like to read the actual tweet... If it even exists. It seems a long shot that the club are using an agent to screen comments and then scrutinise them.. Seems an utter waste of time and money.
  10. Absolutely! The bigger issue by far was Rodgers.. We have already seen how the team can perform with different tactics and playing our best striker.. We didn't get the result due to unusual circumstances. We could have easily won on another day. We have many winabke games ahead and we will win them. We can rebuild over the summer and future windows but we need competent consistent recruitment and we will be top 6 again.
  11. That is astounding!
  12. Haha In all seriousness, I only know a little but the little I do know, means that we sign certain players because of his personal contacts. That is a value to LCFC end of. Now if that can offset the inability to sign our best players to new deals, I'd say not. It's not all at JR's door, however he is culpable to a point of course. However we are not on the board, we do not know why we kept a dead duck as manager for way too long.. We don't know if JR wanted him gone, and if so for how long... I have no idea how poster's can write what they do with a lack of insight, but it just seems it is written in frustration, because we are less successful now than we should be, given the players we have, yet that is at Rodgers door. If I were Tielemans or Madisson I wouldn't sign here either because we are regressing as a club. I understand why we pay big wages to our own proven successful players, but some of our deals have crippled us on and off the pitch and JR put his faith at least somewhat in Rodgers and for that.. Yes he could end up losing his job because that decision has cost us hundreds of millions, and Top isn't going to blame himself is he.
  13. I am not suggesting we should ignore them either, however w also on the flip side of this, you have to recognise that analytics are a tool and not a magic bullet. Otherwise we would have a computer program deciding business critical decisions, similar to what recently happened with the Philladelphia Flyers GM when he defended his actions by elaborating about how he used an application to determine the value of tracmdes in ice hockey, which is just a dereliction of duty and responsibility. I was speaking with a club analyst recently who had studied analytics at university. Even they explained that analytics are valuable yet the balance is still in favour of your eye, rather than a spreadsheet.
  14. Good points I agree in the main. Everyones performances should be evaluated on a regular basis. There is an overall lack of an elite mentality at the club. This starts with the recruitment of the staff, and eventually leads on to the pitch. When we had elite staff in the first team we won the league, it's not a coincidence.
  15. Thats not my name. Are you able to explain why you don't agree?
  16. Please explain.
  17. I know for a fact that Rudkins contact book is very valuable. Just because we fans don't see it doesn't mean he doesn't have a value to the club.
  18. Are we really overlooking that during his tenure we won the league and fa cup? Did he have nothing to do with that success? Data driven.... No thanks if rather go with what I see and feel rather than numbers in a defined box.
  19. Won us a fa cup. Other than that a complete failure! Squad value has halved. Worse now than when he took the job. Don't let the door hit you on the way out πŸ˜‘
  20. I completely agree. I think he is a better man in terms of accepting negative responsibility however. It's not the Potter show like Rodgers enjoys the limelight. I do feel they have a similar style however and our squad doesn't suit possession based football, it never has!
  21. Yes yes yes yes yes yes😍 You don't know how happy I am to be able to fully support my team once again!!!
  22. Wow could be another long answer incoming πŸ˜‚ I guess in short all relationships come down to push and pull, and do I have enough pull (credit and respect) to push ( voice my opinions openly to decision makers) in the hope they listen and make changes. Everyone talks within their own circles same as in any industry, but do you knock on the directors door and tell them they we are shit, with a presentation breakdown of how you see it? What do you think would happen, would I / you be promoted or removed? We don't live in a fair world. If we did incompetence would be erased fast. There are 2 main reasons why! Internal football mechanisms, and the balance between competition and fear. Everyone has valid footballing opinions! We are in fact all experts, if you aren't after watching football after a decade then I'm shocked. The opinions on here re the first team are pretty much spot on, maybe a bit slow to mature / crystalize opinions on here but they come out about right in the end. Just my opinion again. Then there is the world of serious football where its about money and the fans which brings pressure. People value their jobs, and fear losing them if they are seen as incompetent. Then there is proving they are crap! That's a different matter entirely, especially with the employment laws in the UK after 2 years in a company. You can have all the qualifications (football mechanisms) and football friends, but it doesn't make you any good. It doesnt mean you have any passion for your role. In reality it's a job! To you on here its your passion. There is a huge gap!!! You don't have to support the club to work for the club, so it's a job. Are you passionate about your job like you are lcfc? If not, how can you expect someone to be passionate about your club? When there is no passion there is nothing, just average box tickers. I am not saying you have to be a fan of the club your work for, but be passionate about your role, then you will excel. This works in normal life aswell obviously. There are folk in roles that have no interest, so there is no mechanism to hold your subordinates to account. As they don't see the issues, because they don't look for them. Even if there was an issue flagged.. How do you portion out blame? Its such a subjective industry. Aslong as you tick the boxes you are asked to tick.. How can you be managed out? So you end up in a situation where you gravitate towards the areas that you can make a difference, and work with the passionate staff and help the people you can, and avoid the non elite people, as they are a waste of space. I belive it's called controlling the controllables, and not sweating the shit you can't effect. At the club there are very well defined boxes that you have responsibility within. If you go outside of that, it's just odd. If I tried to fix the copier it would be as odd, as the office staff trying to run a session. I hope that answers the question, but I am sure it is exactly the same as your business or social circles. People are people after all. Just that due to the interest locally, the football people are seen in an elevated position socially, but have a responsibility to the fans, but the individual is or isn't arsed.. But the fans believe you should be, once again its subjective. Now if I were in an elevated position I would like to believe that I was so competent within my role I would be able to allow an open forum to my subordinates... That doesn't exist at lcfc but maybe that's just my perspective? I could be wrong.
