  1. I'd be shocked, because logically that's what I'd assume, when I had an outside perspective. However in my experience that's giving the majority of staff, waaaay to much credit, which I'm sure by now you've all realised they don't deserve 🤣 (Not all however, staff member if your reading). Covered myself there for sure! I really shouldn't be this candid 👀 not sure I'm actually letting a cat out of the bag here. They have been given 12 month deals with a club option 12 months extra. 👍🏻
  2. They (older academy boys) need (an opportunity ) to go and play "proper" football, and they will develop and have a chance at career.
  3. I think you will find these "offers" have already been accepted, I've no idea why they have been reported like this when they were done in April. Edit: I'm a liar, I wrote I have no idea when in reality they are incompetent. Apologies for the lack of clarity 👍🏻
  4. One may say, not me obviously, that of all the clubs to be bemoaning how the system works, Wolverhampton Wanderers should probably take a look at how the operative when bringing in their own talent, Rather than playing the victim when one of their prize possessions has been tapped up. Maybe (One may say, not me obviously) a big club like Wolves should say, stay within the current rules and not circumnavigate them with elaborate schemes in order to prove they are operating within the rules. Maybe other clubs local or localish to Wolverhampton might feel exactly the same as this chap because of how WWFC operates. One may think, not me obviously, that one possibly respects the hell out of how competitive WWFC are willing to be when doing their damnedest, to get the very best players into their academy, and wishes maybe less than 1% of the time, that other Academies would have a similar outlook, yet when you consider that the commodities being discussed here are minors, then the rules exist to protect them. Not the pockets of Billionaires abroad. Regards the Brexit mention I believe he is explaining poorly, that the bigger fish now have to concentrate on their much smaller national pond, not a global one which effects WWFC more than it did previously. However you dress that up, it was and would again be child trafficking. But it's ok because Fabregas was a quality player....... Boo hoo
  5. Martin Taylor made the initial save from Ormondroyd and it fell to Walshys left foot.
  6. Outside of Betis he has a very good record with his teams. Also has won league one with Brighton. Unlike another big name, RVN.
  7. Listened to Gus Poyet say he would take on a League 1 team if the project was right, on the managers podcast. IMO he would be a very good appointment.
  8. I think inevitably there will be a huge overturn in players. Winks, Vestergaard, Choudhury & De Cordova Reid. I image will be free's (I can't imagine who would pay for them, on top of their wages) unless we simply have no offers, then a last resort is, a season long loan with a % of their wage to be paid, to encourage the wage reduction required to rejuvenate the playing squad. Other than that, they would have to be bought out of their contracts. Players who would generate a fee: Mavadidi Skipp Kristiansen Okoli Fatawu Coulibaly I would be unsure about Souttar, he hasn't played much football to justify a new team much confidence to spend on him, but if we are desperate then maybe we would give him a free / low fee to leave. Academy players who would be of interest to sell due to the PSR rules: I'd say any or all of them, fee dependant but: Monga, Stolarczyk, Thomas & Nelson would be most likely. Without sounding too positive, this terrible event must be looked at as a time to wipe clean the years of mismanagement and embrace the Academy talent. There needs to be a structure of sound first team professionals (hopefully new ones), to give the first team a back bone and positive culture at the club, to win the 3rd division at the first attempt. It is a massive job, but one that is very doable (as we already experienced).
  9. Meetings are happening this week re budgets and spending for next season. I'm told there won't be any academy cuts, we will see. Back end of the week there will be a clearer picture.
  10. Have been informed that there are no plans to cut academy funding.
  11. Hopefully it's not just limited to on field employees. The clubs footballing staff NEEDS a root and branch review as promised previously.
  12. If we are relegated, you would have an increased chance of this!
  13. Since this game I've always disliked / but respected Bristol City, but what a player you had on the day, Dariusz Dziekanowski. This was the first FA cup game I can remember, and we were always crap in the cup until 2021. Also Russell Osman here after he was at Leicester. I can also remember; Chris Weale, Neil Danns, Danny Simpson, Julian Watts, Nathan Blake, Filip Benkovic (unsure he actually ever played for us?) Andy King, Matty James, Ade Akinbiyi & Chris Wood.
  14. He certainly has made us more difficult to beat, and has lifted the general feeling. There is hope 🙏🏻 I like how he places importance on defence. He is the most NP manager since NP IMO. Some may find him meat and potatoes, but the fundamentals of winning are very much meat and potatoes 👍🏻
  15. He speaks well, Good news on JJ & JL.
  16. I just saw this news and I said out loud "oh my god" What the **** are we doing? Is this what we are about as a club? What more needs to be written about the decision makers at the club? I don't want to be associated with such actions. It's not that difficult to run a business and keep within your financial constraints. It's not...! I don't care what you thought, or how unlucky you feel you are. Then getting a light slap on the wrist 6 points deduction, and now we seem to be again feeling hard done by??? I'm utterly baffled and lost as a fan. I hate their sheer incompetence.
  17. Failing to notice your manager had checked out. Let it go that he went skiing rather than taking training when we were in a relegation battle. Then don't have any back up plan to rescue the situation. Oh we can't sack him, what about the finances? Well look as us now 👀😂😭 Fail 3
  18. Allowing your manager to bring his mate because he seems to like football, so appoint him Head of recruitment. Even though he had a poor rate of success previously. Obviously give that guy the responsibility for spending multiple millions. Mistake two.
  19. In 2016/17 we changed our football philosophy, because they didn't like to upset our domestic footballing betters. Epic fail number one.
  20. I agree re the tactics, but we can only presume with what would have happened with Pearson after. Managers can be judged on results and their transfer record. Pearson was successful in both. Ranieri much more on the pitch, bit less so off it, if we had to compare. I'm not suggesting it's a high percentage it's Claudio's fault, or lack of his ability. The main players were recruited under Pearsons tenure or played for him. Pearson created that culture here which won us the league. Claudio chang d our tactics after Arsenal and we caught lightening.
  21. We had success in both of Pearson's spells as manager. As I see it, that both times he left us better off, than before he arrived. It wasn't just the results, or lack of them when he was in charge that was important to me as a fan. It was more the feelings I had about the club overall, including how I felt that the first team staff and players exemplified a culture I could positively identify with. When the bigger success came after I was riding a crest of a wave with positivity about my club, however it felt like a bewilderment occured, along with that success. Within the club. I think when Pearson and Walsh left, we lost competence within our first team player recruitment, almost like we now have these results which has risen expectations, now that we aren't repeating these successes, we don't know why, so maybe throwing more money at it could bring the answer... It's not their money they are spending, it's Tops, but who proposes and then agrees to the budgets? Ultimately Top, but having seen the recent interviews, at best he seems a naive man.
  22. You are passionate about the club. Stop thinking others feel the same about their job. It's a sad reality.
  23. Foul yes, red never. Really unlucky with that decision.
