Development/Youth Squads 2023/2024 Thread - U18/U21

Apologies @Ric Flair I haven't been on here for months. There is a new coach incoming for the u13s I think. The u21s have new assistants. I think the quality of the coaching in general is excellent. I dont believe this to be any reason why x player doesn't reach their potential these days. -

The money the club invests each season in the academy. -
I was listing these as saleable assets, rather than suggesting they should be sold. 👍🏼

The saleable assets will go. I asume this includes Maddison Iheanacho Barnes Ndidi Ricardo Castagne Kristiansen Daka KDH We already know that Tielemans, Soyuncu, Mendy & Tete will leave. I highly doubt we will be able to offload Ward. We are left with a massive rebuilding of the first team, however it depends how we choose to look at this. Personally I would relish this task, as we can remove the fat as you call it (correctly) and bring in hungry players who want a chance at the Premier league. We have everything in place to be a success but the team. We already have a leader at the back in Souttar and up front in Vardy. If we can keep Barnes, KDH & Daka as they are all young enough and would certainly help us be a top side in the Championship. It would certainly help Daka if he was given time, to develop. I am not aware what focus has been placed on the recruitment team, for the challenge of the championship. We must have many options for players that we have scouted who would be willing to play for us in the champ. I have no doubt. This is a huge task, but it is also an exciting time to see such change, as it could be a great thing like when Pearson first arrived. It is just a huge shame that incompetence brought us here, but it's done now so let's focus on the progression.

You are referring to Rodgers?

She is the deputy managing director of King Power. Her role as ceo at lcfc is just 1 part of her job. Something for you all to consider!

I think everyone is disappointed. I think there has been an immense amount of ineptitude by those he has employed to do a good job for the club. He is ultimately at fault as he pays the bills. However let's not forget he has supported our club (but really his club financially) and he is carrying the financial can here. We live in a society where publicly making mistakes leads to the sack. For me you cannot be grateful for the ride over the years, winning the league, fa cup and going to Europe and then in the same breath complain at his faults and becoming a championship club. The only way we all learn is by making mistakes. He will become a better owner because of this, I have no doubt. He is not an idiot. He may not be his father just yet, but we must allow himself the opportunity for redemption, otherwise what kind of fan base are we?

Rudders & Whelan to review this season’s failings next week

I'm sure I could save them the time. Kept a culture of regression in place far too long, didn't regognise that the former manager couldn't pick his nose let alone a player. We have offered out contracts to players on huge wages given their talent and levels of commitment. Former recruitment systems that were astonishingly successful were abandoned because of 1 man. A culture of apathy grew even though it was obvious were were regressing. Obsessed with playing a certain style of football over winning matches. Over reliant on individual players abilities in certain situations to gain points. Couldn't defend! Sold a very good keeper with no replacement. -

Ok well it's not. He didn't. Note the big deal made by the clubs media department, when the academy kids and first team trained together, even Shakey and Terry were involved. This never happened under BR as he had no interest in the academy. -

Rodger shad nothing to do with the Acadmey ever! Probably 1 of his best traits to be honest 😂 -
I though he was MOTM by a mile last night.

@Ric Flair This is what I was referring to RE: JR & his contacts. This guy was guaranteed top 3 player to enter the MLS draft this season, but he plays for us now. He is only in Belgium to get a work permit & meaningful games. Definitely one to watch. Loved that Shoulder to beat their player and that pass!

Vardy, Daka, Nacho.

Yeah I've got nothing better to do.

Yes this can, and has happened naturally from abroad. Some unethical clubs engineer moves domestically so they sign players that moved into their catchment area, for players in the pre academy. Completely crazy! -

I don't think so. I'd be suprised to hear of any examples post brexit. Even Irish boys now have to wait and we have longstanding historical work agreements with Ireland. If you have an example, I am sure the FA would be interested. -

It's actually modern slavery / child trafficking so I highly doubt any club in the U.K now wants this kind of publicity. The old ways of for example Fabregas at Arsenal at 16 would now never be allowed and would be suicide for the clubs reputation / brand. -

A pre academy coach is going to Africa is completely pointless. Firstly if they are a pre academy coach they will (or should?) know the F.A rules regarding signing players under 12 years old, which is that they have to live within 60 minutes travel time of the training ground. I do not belive any location in Africa is within this time frame, so who cares where a random coach goes on his holidays? Also when one is successful within their role, you rarely have much interest in what your contemporaries are doing. Just take care of your responsibilites as best you can. I have as much interest in Manchester United as I do any random team you care to mention. My focus is solely Leicester City and our best interests. You may not agree, but it's not my chosen method of thinking and it's working for me very well.
