  1. If you go to the security gatehouse at the entrance. Explain who you are in relation the the player, and why you are there you should be fine πŸ‘πŸ»
  2. Whatever the result today. We will learn how this season will play out. We are failing: Was it the manager? Is it the players? I don't mind which, I will get a decent team to support, or I'll get more time to do something else. I would like to know if they can again be the very capable championship team we all know they were, or are they the half hearted adult behaving babies, stealing a wage they have been this season? I fully expect a commanding win. I can go back to the apathy lads don't worry πŸ‘πŸ»
  3. I would guess that over the period of time, and judging by performances at various levels, that the player would give you a strong indication to how a player would cope with each jump. Remember, that special talents are often played above their age group in every academy. Usually 1 up or down. To strive or struggle. This is part of development. However at the level you are wanting me to give you an opinion at, it isn't about development anymore, its about 3 points. The first team in any club, is the only age group where winning is the main aim. So with this may bring new pressures and unexpected results. Some will thrive, some wont, that's life. I'd suggest any player representing their country at various levels gives you the hope to justify including them at higher levels. Yet if you consider the players who can play for the u18s or u21s for their country but never "make it" big the chances really aren't lets say 99% anymore. So it is difficult to say as nobody has it right everytime.
  4. If I knew that, I would tell you, but I don't.
  5. Never any pressure from the club or staff, that would be highly counter productive. I'd say there are standards that must be respected however. I think the main pressures are usually from self or family wanting to succeed. Which is naturally understandable. Sometimes that can be a frustration as progress can be stunted by negative pressures. The club & Academy has a safeguarding team and staff to talk to for a plethora of issues.
  6. You can prove anything with numbers. I'd suggest over 99% of professional footballers have been through an academy.
  7. I think I drafted my first sentence poorly. I wasn't suggesting being cat 1 was of no significance. Keep calm, the conveyor belt will keep delivering I promise.
  8. I am aware mate πŸ‘πŸ» The PFSA are cowboys btw
  9. Having a cat 1 academy just means the minimum finances you must commit to each season. Cat 1 academies always play each other. Cat 2 academies play each other until u14 then they don't play cat 1 any longer. Cat 3 just play cat 3 All clubs have the same restrictions travel area wise. These are the basics. Finances, facilities and opportunity play a massive part in attracting players. The clubs with massive budgets can move a family in order for them to be within their catchment. It's totally unethical but it happens. We don't do this. When judging the players, please take in to account their ages, against their competitors. At Leicester we don't look to produce National League players for example. We have teenagers playing in the championship. They will be superstars!
  10. Gardening leave won't change the finances. πŸ‘€
  11. Just to be clear, I wasn't trying to start a topic within a topic here, however using obvious and random examples, some deliberately inaccurate to emphasis how we do have bias in our media coverage. From the BBC and others. πŸ‘πŸΌ
  12. People are often promoted into positions of incompetence. I can accept this, it's acceptable, but once found out you have to go, and people have gone. They didn't go with any grace but some astounding amount of pride for there belief in their own and their teams achievements. When we can't score and lose lots of games ultimately the Manager has to go, not the players, If this continues, then the directors. This has in some part happened here. Responsibility isn't what you do when your important in an organisation. It's what you allow. They allowed it. They are responsible. Are there a multitude of other similar stories with a BBC bias on different topics? Climate change for example. Are we globally cooling today of was that just in the 60s? Are the BBC reporting about how NATO has consistently ignored their promises to Russia that they won't move east? Are they reporting about how amazing western democracy is whilst banning / improsoning politicians and overruling democratic elections in valuable European countries? Are there reports of various assaults by Buddhists on Pagans? If not why not? Obviously they aren't happening. Nothing to see move along. It's not just the BBC I admit.
  13. It seems every conversation these days has to be dumbed down to a binary choice, I have no idea why. I am tired of this never ending simplistic train of thought. It turns me off contributing to the majority of discussions that become A Vs B. I don't understand why it is difficult to report all relevant facts for each story. That doesn't mean I need to know the wind direction, it means crucial details. We are simply getting lied to. You can dress it up as you wish. That's unacceptable. People lose trust, then they will resent having to pay for it hence the surge in unpaid licence fees.
  14. I have no sympathy for the BBC news team here. They don't seem to be able to report on news stories of significant interest without being biased, which is the one thing they constantly claim not to be. In this case they are demonstrating exactly why they have lost the trust of those who once believed them as a premier organisation for understanding what is happening in the world. Why did they decide to use this story to create a new narrative? Seriously what were they thinking? It was a decision so arrogant, one could question weather the people making the decisions are stupid they believed nobody would notice, or care, barring in mind this man has taken numerous media organisations to court for similar reasons and won. Those people who decided to make the changes, are the ones people upset that the BBC may be finding it's viability under question, should be upset with. Not Trump because his team noticed and got upset. It would be like me getting upset at the 17 other Premier League teams because they can run a football club in a somewhat professional manner and complain about them. Rather than critique my team that gets relegated. You may like or dislike the target, that isn't the issue here, as what if any media organisation was to target you with the same tactics? There has to be a precedent. A standard which must be adhered to. They didn't care about the truth. You guys may quite rightly point out some flaws, why didn't they highlight those instead, of creating disinformation? Was it their intention to bring the BBC into a situation where it could potentially be destroyed? I am disappointed as a member of the public, as I believe the BBC has some local services that are of use as a community good. I believe we should find a way to retain the local services it currently offers, however it's lack of credibility in national and world news seriously endangers it's future. It seems to me there is a culture currently very radically different to what it was say 40 years ago, that I don't recognise or trust the BBC that I have not used it's services for at least 5 years now. It a sad state of affairs.
  15. Possibly one of the most ridiculous posts I've ever seen in FT and I've been here for a while.
  16. MON has never coached. He manages people.
  17. Could have had massive attack.
  18. I like the positive coverage, but as an insight it isn't (from my perspective) the reality. It is just a building! There are grass pitches. We had exactly the same at Belvoir drive, it just didn't look as modern! I don't know what else I can tell you in regards to the facilities. In regards to player recruitment, player coaching & handling the various different relationships an academy player and with their stakeholders, there are some key staff who have worked very well over a sustained period, working as a team, and working to a very high level of competence. That's the real reason why we have had a few successes over the last decade. It isn't as sexy a story, but it is the reality. To demonstrate the pathway, the 2 players mentioned in the article were first brought into Belvoir drive around 2014/2015. A member of staff once told me that nobody ever realises that this young player one day might become the next Messi. They (Board) just don't see it. I'd like to believe that now, considering that Academy player sales have helped to aid the financial disasters over recent seasons of mismanagement, the comment above, is now more commonly accepted within the club hierarchy. I don't believe it however.
  19. The NHL & IIHF organise the 2 separate tournaments, generally they do not serve each others interests, so you get a schedule like this.
  20. Yeah a team in Hamilton makes a lot of sense or even a 2nd Toronto team, but it would just get vetoed as you mentioned. Probably wasn't worth going unless it was between 2008 to 2016. Or before when Roenick was there with chelly. Blackhawks will be much improved next season. Maybe 15 points better πŸ€πŸ€žπŸ»
  21. As a Blackhawks fan, (I mean this in the nicest way possible) Your teams stink! & we stink, but for a reason! Buffalo should have been competitive by now, and they decided to show up this season, when they had guaranteed no playoffs, so they just hurt their own draft position, doh. The Islanders are the most negative hockey team, and I like defensive hockey! I think The Sabres need a new GM (palm trees), and probably a new coach, although I do like Ruff. There is something to build around but the Sables are so inconsistent. Thompson should be a beast, he can look like Mario one night then a bum the next. You need to make a trade on defence, and IMO Power is the guy who you should trade for a scoring forward but I believe he has a NMC. Good luck however, it must be tough.
  22. Correct, they will not be a part of the a Academy system, but I guess we would pay a fee plus bonus payments for player progress and a sell on %.
  23. I don't know the answer, I think you would need a huge data pool, which I don't have, also I don't know how you would measure such events. In my experience, when a player is extremely talented, the parents realise this, when ALL of the clubs are offering training. This leads to, Agents, private elite coaching, many trial offers with academies, that they never not intend to sign at. Essentially using the academy system (and clubs) to train their son for free, its within the rules so there isn't anything to lose unless injury. This is the case as long as the talent remains throughout. The club obviously is hoping to convince the player & parents that they are the right place for their son to play and develop at. I am not suggesting this is the case in this example, but it has happened in rare cases before. I'd suggest to you that the football part of football clubs generally are not well organised when compared to modern business standards. Just an opinion. I mean look at the information you already have about football.
