  1. No! But disappointing. We’ve still had a great season so far. Clearly Rehan wasn’t ready to bowl yet and I don’t understand why we played Thomas if we were going to bring him on so late and then for just one over.
  2. Most importantly, we are back to winning ways after a worrying run of losses in recent weeks. A much needed confidence boost for the boys.
  3. -0.13 Northants are -0.1
  4. But we’re still in fifth! Very close behind though.
  5. Josh Thomas. 20 years old, has played second eleven T20 for Somerset this season with figures of 8-84 off 78 balls. Economy 6.46, Average 10.5 and Strike Rate of 9.75!
  6. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/articles/c0q85wlwqyno What an absolute gent! I presume this means he won’t be coming back to us? 🤪
  7. Hull is over rated in my opinion and we are expecting too much of him. He should definitely not have been given four overs after the start he had. I was screaming for Scriven to be given the ball!
  8. What do six Dorothy’s make??
  9. Not enough imo. But I hope I’m wrong.
  10. Absolutely dreadful. Not so much a stream as a stutter! Missed all the shots and just showed the moments in between.
  11. Who would be a bowler in T20? The batters let you down and you have to come in to try and make up for the mess they’ve made, and then they expect you to bowl out the oppo with nothing to defend?
  12. Is it just me or does it look like Hull has got a bat that would suit an 11 year old?
  13. Last time I tried the bar staff didn’t even know what bitter was and asked if I meant lager!! 🤣
  14. 2nd Xi playing at Notts today. Headley’s first over went for 23!
  15. Salisbury can bat! Normally when the chips are down. 1) Durham v Derbyshire 2018 when he got 25 off 147 balls in a 99 run 9th wicket stand while his partner hit a ton. 2) Durham v Essex 2021, scored 44 in a 94 run 9th wicket partnership, 3) Durham v Middlesex 2022: scored 45 coming in at no 5 while wickets tumbled around him including Stokes, Borthwick, Eckersley. Came in as night watchman at the end of the day and was still there at lunch the following day.
  16. Don’t expect any of them for Friday.
  17. Worcestershire have published this helpful summary of the options facing county cricket. https://wccc.co.uk/shaping-the-future-of-county-cricket-together/
  18. And after almost two whole days in the dirt under a scorching sun it’s unsurprising that they’ve struggled this evening. I haven’t even ventured outdoors today! We’ve probably lost this one but we still have the advantage thanks to a fantastic start to the season. The injuries are a worry though.
  19. I’ll rephrase the question. Dukes or Kookaburra?
  20. Fantastic report on yesterday’s play at Grace Road from George Dobell. And his view on the Kookaburra ball: “It may even be the worst thing to happen to bowlers since bats were invented.” https://www.thecricketer.com/Topics/county-cricket-premium/miscarriage_justice_schedule_revamp_keeps_leicestershire_out_top_flight.html?utm_campaign=1794050_29%2F06%2F25 Newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_source=The Cricketer&dm_i=7T5X,12GAQ,3ELK2Y,2SM5D,1
  21. Roman Walker you beauty!!
  22. I wonder if a further dip into the loan market might be on the cards? Goldsworthy hasn’t played in the CC for Somerset yet this season.
  23. I think you’re over reacting but it is certainly a blow. With the Kookaburra ball there is every chance of a draw on this one but there’s still a long way to go in the season.
