The Arbitral Tribunal considered whether the PL had jurisdiction. The Commission also found that because of that, LCFC were bound by that decision. And even if that wasn't right, the Commission ruled on it in the recent hearing against us. I can't see us succeeding in now arguing that somehow it gets rerun, but I can't see anyone being impressed by more jurisdictional points when we have had two bites of the cherry to knock out the PL's case on that basis. All we're left with is arguing that the Commission got it wrong as a matter of law. They must be extremely confident - a lot more than I am!
-
That was the deadline for issuing an appeal.
-
I think it's more likely we appealed and so the PL thought that they may as well cross-appeal. If we didn't appeal I doubt whether they would have bothered. I certainly wouldn't assume that the PL started this appeal and so we, poor things, felt we had no choice. I reckon we started it because the recent results mean that if there is any chance of a reduction, however remote, they think they have to go for it. So given the Commission thought 7 the right figure and knocked one point off because our financial position improved; didn't give an additional point for the failure to file accounts and neither increased it nor decreased the overall figure for cooperation, unless the Tribunal knocks out any part of the case on a point of law, I don't think it will interfere with the actual end number.

And to be fair (goes against the grain, but still) most owners loan their clubs huge sums that get paid back when the club is sold. Top/King Power International have converted around 318 million from loans owed to them by the club into shares/equity, so effectively writing those loans off. Doesn't make the club's present financial position rosy, obviously. But it is a difference from owners who borrow money to buy the club and hold a material chunk of the shares, and then have the club take on debt and the responsibility for servicing that debt through interest payments on those loans while taking huge dividends from their shareholdings..... Still, financially speaking we seem to be up the creek in a barbed wire canoe and without a paddle.
-
Next years payment around 40 million but then goes down to 20% of the share, so more than halves. Also haven't we earmarked then as security for the loans? In which case, we've already hocked those future payments so they won't be available for rebuilding.

Well that went "whooooosh" didn't it!
-
Nailed it. It would have to be a huge amount of money for a 3 month bet. And we don't have that money. And the odds aren't great. None of the guys like Dyche have any need to take that on. They don't need a temporary job to fill in and pay the bills! They'll realise that the owner and DoF are impossible to work for and there's no transfer budget. The only realistic manager who is going to be interested will be one who doesn't mind managing in League 1 but with ambitions to get us promoted and back to the Championship and put that on their cv, or if we survive, want to establish their credentials at managing at a Championship club. So a present Championship manager but not one at the top end (why waste the potential chance of going up to the PL to go back to us) or one for whom having Championship manager on their cv (even if briefly) is a step up - so lower leagues or from abroad who wants to break into the EFL.
