It's what nearly killed Coventry - years of dealing with multiple stadium owners, rent disputes, having to borrow Northampton and Birmingham's stadiums. And it's why no good ownership of LCFC will work without the club + ground package. Forget the training facilities. Can't be a coincidence that Coventry are doing so well under the kind of ownership that meant the club owned its own ground. It's this disconnect that worries me most about LCFC's future. It looks ripe for asset stripping, and if that happens, the club's gone. I was always amazed that Coventry survived at all.

I'm pleased Hull got promoted out of the many in and out of contention in the play offs, but it was a painful watch. I know it was boiling hot and the stake (and the pressure) means playoffs are often very poor, but it pretty much showed how limited in any quality much of the Championship is. Sunderland did surprise, but I also keep forgetting that they broke all spending records for a newly promoted club. They had very little (if any) operating losses, players on sensible wages and did sell a some players for decent sums. So without a PSR inflicted cap (or not one that got in the way) their net spend was over £140 million. I agree with you, I can't see Hull staying up unless they do the same.

I hope you're right, but it feels like our squad isn't as good as it was last year, it's not just the difference in quality between the two divisions. We didn't nail the overseas recruitment, and I think this squad would have difficult getting promotion out of Div 2. It'll have a knock on effect on the T20 too. Looks like this will be a very learning lessons year, so I just hope that some success is had in good recruitment.

@everton carrBen Mike reminds me of something someone once said about Agnew - and he told it against himself, that he went from promising young shaver to wily old hand without being really good in between! I don't think there's much improvement to come from Mike anymore. Hull (and to an extent Green) may be should be kicking on more, but at the moment they're being compared to some very experienced County bowlers and you can't coach experience into a player.

Tbf, our strength of squad isn't all that great. We're weak on the bowling side, and inconsistent in the batting - and we didn't make the rights calls again on overseas players. At this level, that's enough to mean you will struggle to get a win. There's only so much a coach can do. It will be interesting to to see how many wickets we take as they bounce to their certain victory.
