Most of our defenders like to bomb forward, so probably a good idea to have someone who likes to stay back and defend but keeps a tight back line so doesn't play opposition forwards on-side. It seems he can head a ball as well so, that could be useful.

He has had to oportunity of a move in this transfer window where he is likely to play but turned it down. So you have to assume he prefers to sit back, do nothing and take the money because he very often isn't even on the subs bench.
