Nice course, well worth playing. Usually kept in very nice condition and has some really good par 3s on it.

Even this "magical" run Bristol City are on......theyre 16th in the league, 3 of those games were FA Cup ties, and their last 10 league games theyve scored 14 points. Thats bang average. Just call it like it is.
-
Yes but you wouldnt though, because he has the personality of a been around the block fat kebab eater, a sort of joke figure, so you wouldnt. A substantial core of the Newcastle team were bought under Bruce.... Joelinton, Almiron, Wilson, St Maximin, Schar etc. Howe has sprinkled a few on top. Bruce kept newcastle up like Pearson did. New manager takes them on and does better. I guarantee there isnt a Steve Bruce nosh off thread every other day on the Newcastle forum that the little emo's get their winkies out to.

After Pearson had spent the previous press conference instigating the whole Ostrich conversation in the first place which to everyone outside of Leicester made him look like a monumental bellend, and had been displaying Billy Davies levels of paranoia and inferiority to every journalist for about 6 weeks leading up to that.

Its just a ridiculous view. Just because its held by a lot of people, it doesnt make it any less ridiculous. Its like saying the main reason we won the FA Cup was Claude Puel because he bought Tielemans. You wouldnt try and make that argument because youd look a right idiot, and no one likes Claude Puel. Is the reason Man Utd beat Barcelona Ole Gunnar Solskjaer? Is the reason Burnley are top of the championship Sean Dyche? Is the reason Newcastle are 5th because of Steve Bruce? Thats the argument you make, and its a rubbish one. Doesnt matter how many fan boys agree with it, because its wrong.

Can you explain why: Derby - Sacked after falling out with players and owner.... in a few months Watford - Sacked after falling out with players and owner....in a few months Leicester 2nd Spell - Sacked after falling out with owners whod already tried to sack him once and then had to sack him due to his gormless sack of shit son Bristol - Soon to be sacked for underachieving and board "not having him" as the insider on here points out (We dont know if hes right) Is reflective of a person who forms good working relationships, or is it always the owners fault? Suggests to me the bloke is a bit of a blockhead who cant understand the owner employs him, not the other way around. His job here will be the only good one he will ever do, ill go on record as saying that, and ive no idea why a person who is so people orientated as youd believe here goes out of his way to be unbearably rude in his public personality.

The usual suspects have got their little willies out.

And just to be clear on this, he is one of the best Leicester managers in recent history, he did lay the ground work for the title win. But lets also be clear that itll be the only job he will have in his career where he does anything of any note. Id be surprised if he even gets a job after hes sacked at Bristol, let alone do anything with anyone.

The reports at the time said there was a bust up and then an "exchange" with the owner. Maybe there wasnt I dont know but neither of us know beyond the reports we read, and at the end of his spell they were playing crap. Bristol are playing crap now, and have been ever he since he took them over. Hes cut the wage bill? bloody hell id better have a lie down, what an achievement that is, selling a few players. Genius. Everyone to a man on here would say Ian Holloway is a knut and yet he got Blackpool promoted on one of the lowest budgets in the league and had an absolute dick of a chairman to work for. Thats an achievement. Not being 2/3rds of the way down he league forever until being eventually sacked, just a matter of when.
-
Well the media reports said the owner thought that they were playing crap after lockdown, and that they had an exchange of views which must be a polite way of saying an argument, then that would suggest all wasnt well. Youre right, I dont know behind the scenes so I dont know all the details, no one will. The following season they scored what was it, 90 or 91 championship points and finished 2nd? So he was hardly missed by anyone.

They looked as good as down, rallied a bit, and went down anyway. Could say that about god knows how many teams before them. "heard nothing but good things from watford players".... youve got snippets in interviews and podcasts. Youve no idea what goes on behind closed doors. Hes the dictionary definition of bang average as a manager. By the end of his career he will have managed probably 12 clubs and the only one he will have done anything at was us.
-
He got a bit of bounce which basically everyone gets, and then fell out with the players who he needed to win the last few games to keep them up. They were going down. You could argue that they were a bit of a hopeless cause when he took them over, but thats what happened. He had lost the dressing room. Hes done nothing with Bristol other than sell some of their good players and trust a few youngsters. Theyve never looked any good, they concede a bucketload of goals, he plays people out of position, and eventually like most managers, he will be sacked at some point and probably replaced by someone else who will also achieve nothing.
-
Theyd just been absolutely smacked by West Ham with him in charge, and smacked the week before by Chelsea, and had Man City and Arsenal to play who would have smacked them because he fell out with some of the players at half time in that West Ham game. So not a weird take at all.
-
Of Millwall? absolutely disgusting club. Dont want them anywhere near the Premier League.
-
Was a fan whilst at Leicester for the magnificent job, but the way people bum him off now is funny. Its a parody. You know the sort.....weirdos with dogs in their profile pics, that sort. His stock is now that low that people consider almost certainly getting relegated with Watford before they spared him a relegation on his CV and his job at Bristol City where theyre always about 16th but hes sold a few players as being fantastic jobs. When the bar for success is set that low, theres a ton of managers doing great jobs. Id even go as far as saying the people who bring him up constantly just like the fact he is an awkward rude man.
-
The Premier League could do with more take the knee booing pitch invading racist hooligan fanbased shithole stadium based non entities, so on that basis yeah, why not. You can get your "clobber" on for that one when we play them.
-
Agreed. Hes done his job, time for him to move on now so someone else can win promotion with them and Pearson can have the credit rather than the current manager.
-
VAR isnt the problem. The problem is stupid laws implemented by people who have no clue. No one knows where to draw these lines from. No one knows where an armpit begins. No one scores a goal with their armpit. And the technology is not sophisticated enough to see exactly when the ball has been kicked. Add that to the fact referees draw the lines on the wrong players, or just dont draw the lines at all, theres your problem. And then after every cock up, the laws are re-written. So any decision can be right or wrong depending on the day, the person in charge, and the laws of that day.

Because Newcastle arent better than Spurs.

Hmmmmm.....im going to politely disagree on that one based on three factors i really dont like 1) A lot of blind shots. I dont mind if you have maybe one in a round like you see on a links, but this is an aspect of course design I really dont like. 2) The course utilises the lie of the land poorly. All the holes run the opposite way to the lie of the land. In summer this means the course ends up being ridiculously bouncy with everyone landing in the wrong spots all the time, regardless of the shot they hit. 3) Course is built on a piece of land that is far, far too small to have a good golf course on.

Best courses in the midlands in my opinion would be: EAST MIDLANDS Luffenham Heath Hollinwell Coxmoor Rutland Water (underrated imo) Rothley Park (very speedy greens in summer) WEST MIDLANDS Sutton Coldfield The Belfry (except the derby) Walmley Coventry GC Forest of Arden (arden course rather than aylesford) STAFFORDSHIRE Beau Desert South Staffordshire Whittington Heath NORTHAMPTONSHIRE Northants County GC
