  1. Maybe just don't post anything to get yourself banned. Having lurked for a long time before finally joining, pretty sure general chat threads historically have seen many on the other side from you banned. All I see on social media is reform types moaning about how they can't say what they want (despite doing it at the time and having the vast majority of UK media on their side) and talking about how down-trodden they are. Honestly think right wing culture at the moment is to basically be a bunch of victims complaining about how everybody else is getting something they aren't.
  2. Stop creating service stations that include either burger king or McDonald's, Waitrose or m&s, Greggs, Costa or Starbucks etc. Sick of visiting them and they're all generic branded nonsense. They don't need to be like Gloucester which is pretty expensive for many people, but just have good, normal wholesome food cooked on site and sold at a decent price. TBF I feel much the same about the towns and cities of the UK which mostly could all be each other with all the same shops etc. Let's have places that feel different from each other.
  3. Honestly don't get why it matters to anybody where somebody else's heart is. Why does anybody have to love where they live? Why can't they just live there and do their best for themselves and their families? We have an utterly dire society in the UK. And that isn't the fault of anybody other than the brigade that hates everybody that isn't like them.
  4. Unless we're willing to tax the richest far more for pillaging our economy we've been managing decline for a while.
  5. Denis Wise looked a good signing on paper
  6. Academies take hundreds of kids. Absolutely get a little excited, who wouldn't, but also be realistic that it doesn't mean much unless they're still there at 15/16. They'll go through a reassessment every year and can get dropped at any time. Enjoy it as an opportunity not all kids get, rather than treating it as a pathway to fame and fortune. Stay grounded, keep your kid grounded.
  7. In fairness to Top of went awry because we were really close to breaking that top 4 and he did the thing all football fans beg for, which was to take a risk and try to reach the unreachable. Obviously that meant we overextended by not selling that fateful summer and with PSR ramping up at a similar time it meant a bit of a gamble for the club. Let's face it, relegation was on nobody's lips at the start of that last Rodgers season, in fact Rodgers himself was the only person warning we hadn't done enough to refresh the squad, which hit hard combined with the earlier gamble. But who seriously wouldn't have wanted us to push that summer a few years ago, v when it really seemed we were on the edge of becoming a regular fixture in Europe. It's gone wrong, yes, but because of ambition and a chairman actually willing to take a risk. Id much rather that than what most other clubs have had.
  8. I think everybody thought he seemed like a great signing given what he'd done with England u21s and, to a lesser extent, Gillingham. I knew from the first few signings he was going to be calamitous though. Couldn't believe the rubbish we were spending our biggest ever transfer budget (at the time) on. And even when we were 2nd a decent way into that season it was obvious we were being carried by what MON had left behind.
  9. Did it to me once but I think the original post has been deleted which might have been the cause
  10. Fair enough, my point still stands generally, but maybe that wasn't the right place for it 👍🏻
  11. As soon as somebody pulls out the goals and assists stats I switch off. Football is not just goals and assists.
  12. The telegraph really is utterly abhorrent these days
  13. So long as we don't give him another contract it's great we know he won't be here by the end of July either way. Just get him out.
  14. Rich people don't just make money from their businesses like sole traders would. They have diverse investments and access to financial vehicles you and I don't.
  15. Nominations for the prize closed in January 2025, the same month Trump came into office. Surely the people forced to put out these soundbites for Trump must understand how ridiculous he is.
  16. I'm not sure there are too many people at the top with this kind of attitude. You work your way to the top of organisations to effect change and to lead. CEOs are responsible for business strategy and thought leadership. If you don't get to lead in your image then you leave.
  17. A world council would need to be the general assembly, not the security council.
  18. I fear people have grass is greener syndrome tbh
  19. Don't mind this sort of call as LB is an obvious weakness. Don't really know much about where his career has gone post-Spurs to know whether he can realistically still do that job now in the championship though. Do you know more about his recent exploits are are you going off name recognition from his younger days? Leif Davis btw I would love to sign if we went up.
  20. I tend to think of it as people happily coexisting, living and working together, despite potentially having didn't cultures, language and traditions. As a country we probably need to decide what we mean so we know what we're aiming for. Maybe that could be a first step in bringing together the different sides to see if there's a version of integration we can all live with.
  21. Having left wing opinions doesn't mean I exist in a left wing bubble.
  22. Initially GB energy needs to build up it's supply lines by bringing new energy projects online. Once done that will allow sale of energy without going through existing private sector energy companies, where their privatisation contracts allow sale of energy at the price of the most expensive energy in their energy mix (gas). Even if they get 99% of their energy through the cheapest route (wind) they can currently still charge gas prices if any of their energy comes that way. GB energy will get around this which is how cheaper energy prices can reach the masses.
  23. Happy to accept the error. VAR is wrecking football. It's not stone age to want the greatest game ever created to continue being played without five minute breaks for refs to still make mistakes.
  24. Why would you think I'm in a left wing bubble? 85% of British media is right wing. Social media is utterly filled with reform bots and fake accounts. It's kinda hard to avoid right wing talking points. Labour absolutely are economically wedded to similar economics to the Tories when it comes to following neoliberal dogma, yes. The same was true under Blair/Brown but it's pretty easy to see that their spending priorities were different to the Tories. And current labour have brought back sure start, are spending on school dinners, prioritising green energy, making different choices than we've seen from a Tory party that has lurched rightwards in recent years.
