If there wasn't so much at stake I would agree, but a win today is very important as we're away to Sheffield United next.
-
0.9 points 😂
-
Couldn't be bothered to check but I knew their last 2 results as we play them today 😁
-
I don't disagree. Like I said we've been poor away from home for months. In this run we've dropped 17 points from winning positions. The only thing that's kept us where we are is our home form is excellent. But as I said Onyeka will make a massive difference. It's been ages since we've had a player with the vision he has.
-
3 clean sheets all season yes I agree with you. But you failed to mention 2 clean sheets in the last 2 games 😆
-
The Oxford game was one of those where we were camped in their half for nearly the whole 90 minutes but they managed to somehow keep everything out. We've been poor away from home for ages, but the difference now is the signing of Onyeka. He is absolute class in the Championship. He came into the side for his first game for us against Middlesbrough, and their midfield who had been running games recently just couldn't get going. Can see them putting on a defensive display today.

Charlton are safe. 7 points ahead with 14 games to go. That's half a point a game. Blackburn are safe. Northern Ireland boss O'Neil took over 2 games ago and they've won both. That's the difference a decent manager makes. Portsmouth look safe. 4 points ahead and a game in hand. W2 D2 L2 in last 6.

Protest march vs Norwich - Sat 28th Feb 2026

The problem is that it doesn't surprise me. I remember when we were taken to Northampton for our 'home' games. Our 'chairman' stated in an interview that about 10,000 to 12,000 would still turn up for each game and he got an instant round of laughter. But 2,000 to 3,000 still went in. There were physical attacks on those demonstrating outside the ground. How about being in League Two and having Accrington Stanley do the double over you. Being mid table and knowing that you needed a good run to try and make the playoffs but losing at home to Yeovil 2-6. No matter how bad it got we had those who couldn't separate our club from those who nearly took us to non league and out of existence. We were lucky. Robins came back and took us from League Two to challenging in the playoffs in the Championship and having that VAR decision that cost us the win against Manchester United in the FA Cup semi final without any money. -

Sounds like you need learn how to separate those ruining your club from your club. People are not attacking your club. They are talking about what is needed to save your club. Burying your head in the sand and hoping it will all go away won't work. How bad do things have to get before you seriously consider who and what has caused such a massive fall in just 10 years?- 856 replies

Good post. But I would add to the final sentence in massive trouble if you don't stay up.
-
Don't be so sure that you would know the outcome of going into administration would be. My club got put into administration in a situation that didn't look good. The company that took us on was a company the hedge fund in charge of us started so they still owned us 🙄 You would need someone with deep pockets with the ability to lay their hands on cash knowing a lot of money will just evaporate. There's not a big queue of people like this. Creditors are presently being paid, but it is with money due from future payments. Where is the money coming from for next season? Your outgoings are still miles above your income. You're still spending well above what's allowed with FFP rules so there could well be more trouble coming from that direction.
-
You've borrowed on every future guaranteed payment. Ticket sales are not guaranteed so you're OK there.
-
And you've already spent that. https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/leicester-city-handed-financial-boost-10355889

It's fine having a large property portfolio but it is cash that's needed. From what I can make out of the situation you've been losing about 5m a month all in one average. This has been mainly covered by taking your Prem payments early. If the cash was available and those in charge were willing to put it into your club they wouldn't have been taking the payments early which costs a few million ago year. Because of the business reorganisation King Power don't have full control like they used to. We will find out at some stage how much of a difference it has made. But the problem you do have is are they looking at reducing their costs. The big loss maker in the group is your football club. Have they got the cash to continue to keep your club ticking over in the hope of getting back to the Prem? Would getting relegated be devastating for your club and that's the only reason for belatedly appealing the points deduction?
-
I feel your pain. Ours went on so long that it's difficult to pinpoint our lowest point. Maybe when we were taken to Northampton for our home games and refused to go into the ground. Supporters fighting with each other. Those who went in were called scabs. But it was a good view from a hill outside the ground where you could see about half of the pitch 😁
-
Have you watched the video I put up? The person in it took over Sunderland in League One when they were in financial trouble and theirs was nowhere near as bad as yours. Your overspend every year was massive. Covid brought an end to the money source that was constantly wasted. The rules were supposed to stop this from happening. I'll explain myself again. My club fell from the Prem to League 2. We had financial difficulties from our attempt to try and stay in the Prem. This was just before the big money came in and no parachute payments. We ended up having a hedge fund ruining our club just in the search of getting our ground for free. It took 29 years to turn our club around. I don't want any other supporters going through what we did, especially your club that half of my family support. I go to some of your games with family members when we're not playing. We got to know the football rules very well.. but it wasn't the playing side of the game.
-
Top doesn't have the money to continue the total mismanagement at your club. He hasn't had it for about the last 5 or 6 years.
-
A long listen but for those that don't understand the situation it will be a real eye opener. To me this is why the appeal has been put in because the options are running out.
-
Hi Hackers good to see you again 😊 And yes you certainly are 😂
-
It isn't the rules that have got you in trouble. It's not following the rules that have put you in serious financial trouble. You would be in at least the same trouble if the rules didn't exist.
-
I would put it more simply than most. When the 6 points deduction was given you looked quite safe because of the poor teams near the bottom and you looked like picking up points. But the other clubs have been picking up points and you haven't. You're now 2 points from safety and don't know where your next points are going to come from. Relegation from the Championship with the expenses accrued constantly could easily lead to your club being liquidated. Top hasn't got the cash to save your club if it happens, so this appeal could be the difference of your clubs survival or not.

I am. But I was replying to someone who thought we would need more PPG than anyone has got so far when all the sides in the top 5 have to play each other so many times in so few remaining games. We had that against Oxford a couple of games ago. We could have played without a GK it was so one-sided. But every one of their players gave 100% and we couldn't find a way through.
-
We're top and on less than 2 points a game. If we need 2 points per remaining game the teams below us would need even more. Current PPG Coventry 1.93 Middlesbrough 1.9 Millwall 1.75 Ipswich 1.8 Hull 1.74 There's a long way to go but we only have to play Hull away from those. Hull v Coventry Middlesbrough v Millwall Ipswich v Middlesbrough Hull v Millwall Ipswich v Millwall Ipswich v Hull There's a lot of guaranteed dropped points there. Never mind. You will be hoping we win our next game no matter how much you want us to fail in the chase.
-
We have been taking the game to them in away games and losing. The problem we have is all of our defenders love to attack leaving us open at the back.
-
Most likely 2nd place on GD.
