  1. Certainly looks this way. Should have been sacked ages ago. It won't have been a surprise to anyone so they had plenty of time to have worked out who they wanted before being left without a manager. If something was close you would have heard whispers by now. My guess would be the new manager announced the day after the transfer window closes.
  2. Just had a look and you're correct. But you have mortgaged future payments to keep going with your astronomical wage bill for the Championship and an owner who seems unwilling/unable to put new money into your club. If you still couldn't shift the players on stupid wages it would be a bigger problem than it is now. And if they haven't got the heart for a battle in the Championship what chance have you got on a cold, rainy night in Exeter?
  3. You may feel fine about it now but you haven't hit the bottom yet. You now most probably have a relegation battle on your hands with a points deduction and lost at home to the team still in 23rd place. Relegation would be a disaster because you wouldn't get the final Prem money that you've already mortgaged as League 1 sides don't get the payments. Imagine also getting relegated with players getting paid the same amount as the full team they face with your opponents putting in 100% every game. It has taken us 25 years to get to this point from our financial mess. Football debts must be paid or you get hit with more points deductions. You would then also be limited on the players you could sign. You would end up with the players nobody wants. Loans? No loan fees allowed and limited on what you put towards their wages. Some of your fanbase need a massive reality check.
  4. The players were, and are still not good enough. If they were good enough other clubs would be happy to pay for them.
  5. Isn't it good when someone as clueless as yourself makes such a comment knowing they're correct without having a clue. The sellout is every seat being sold without segregation. That won't happen. We have halved the away allocation and still could sell much more tickets. Tonight won't be a sellout as Millwall won't sell their allocation. I suppose that's our fault.
  6. Wait another season and if you can get a proper boycott together they will start giving them away with packets of cornflakes.
  7. I take it you didn't go to the game then. We sell out every game now.
  8. We went nearly 50 years without a top 6 finish in any division. Try to imagine most seasons in a relegation battle. Then we did what you're trying to do and most of us stopped going for a few years. It eventually paid off. We now have a limit of 26,000 season tickets which sold out. It's amazing what not finishing in the bottom 6 nearly every season does. That's why I'm not too bothered about the Premier league. We're now selling out every game with a new generation of supporters to.add to the rest of us.
  9. You're in for Diabate from Sweden for 2m. A proper striker. It's how we normally play but you had us on toast the 1st half. Second half Lampard tweeked it at HT and your players are not fit enough.
  10. Goals win games. The only time you had players in the 6 yard box waiting for the ball was in set pieces. For our 1st goal we had players in the 6 yard box and Simms scored off the back of his calf from a foot away. For our 2nd goal once Thomas decided to do the dying fly it was 1 v 3. If Ayew is playing as a striker he should have been aiming to get into the box.
  11. The difference is you've admitted to being on there to wind people up. I'm here to honesty talk about football. My family is half Coventry and half Leicester. I do have a clue what's happening to your club.
  12. I love you too 😘
  13. Have you considered they might be waiting to see if a points deduction would mean you're relegated or not? If not then start next season with a points deduction? Might also be waiting to see if you make the playoffs for the same reason.
  14. There's a fair few decent managers out there without a job....
  15. I agree with most of what you say. The difference between the two sides is the ownership. No need to mention the problems with yours. Our owner doesn't throw cash at our side. But he is a wise businessman and we're run totally different now. We're a few million in credit with transfers since he took over. We don't sign players just because we can. They must fit in with every way. You want one of our players? You pay top price. We started this season with a small squad. It has cost us in the last month as most of our players on the bench have been defenders and GK's. A couple of games ago we couldn't even fill the bench. But the players we do have give 100% all the time. Our second goal showed the difference. We had 3 players against 1 defender with 2 other defenders just watching. But you do have to separate the players from the ownership. It isn't their fault about the ownership. Your players played very well in the 1st half, the best I've seen all season. I would guess a big problem is fitness and this is down to the manager. Your GK isn't very good, Thomas has gone backwards in his development and Ayew is a very good player but as soon as a breeze comes along it blows him over.
  16. Certainly would be a better player if he didn't fall over each time a player comes within a foot of him. He seemed to be in competition with Thomas on who could go down the quickest from just a small bit of contact. But he caused us problems each time he decided to stay on his feet.
  17. Unlucky today. Same as the previous game as if you could shoot better you would have been out of sight at HT. I really enjoyed the game, even the 1st half. What you did to us in the 1st half is what we normally do to others. Very high intensity and we couldn't live with it. The problem is keeping up with the intensity. Our players are the fittest I've ever known for us and we still needed to make changes half way through the second half to keep it up. Luckily our players are coming back from injury and our 2 new players have added to our midfield. Your players must have been knackered after the 1st half. Good luck for the rest of the season and I hope something can be done about the way you're run.
  18. I agree with this other than the money needed to sign players. Normally these days transfer fees are paid over 3 years. You have been taking the loans to get this money early but you still need to pay for the players you sign to replace them. So there's a good chance these loans are now being used to pay the transfer fees for players signed in the last few years and also to cover the wages. This leaves nothing for new players unless your club goes further into debt. The problem with this is these payments need to be kept up to date or serious points deductions start.
  19. I don't want to constantly see clubs in a financial mess. It has taken 25 years for us to get to here since relegation from the Prem. 1 You say FFP. I say change FFP. A rich owner? Let them put the money in but as a gift and not loans. 2 Stability of contracts comes with the financial stability of the clubs paying the wages. 3 What you're saying is clubs should be allowed to have loans they can't afford. Take the average wage and stick to it for loans. Let the Prem sides that hoover up all the promising players take the financial hit. These players will still go out on loan as they need game time. At the moment FFP is designed to help the big clubs and hinder the rest. It needs changing.
  20. I'd put proper spending restraints on clubs that constantly overspend. 1, 2 or 3 seasons depending on how bad the overspend is where all new players would be free agents. The only loans allowed would be without a loan fee. A limit on wages for new players, maybe the average wage for the level the club is at. This includes loans.
  21. It still doesn't change the fact that they changed the rules for points deductions on administration after you went into administration with massive debts. I don't agree with the way they deal with it now. A club that's skint loses 10 points so their attendances get hit costing them money. On top of this the club would then be in danger of getting relegated. It's kicking a club when it's down.
  22. It's difficult to name our side. We've had a lot of injuries and the flu had a big effect on us. We couldn't even fill the bench last game. Thomas is out suspended and Kesler Hayden is injured so not sure what the defence is going to be. Esse should start. He played well against Stoke in the cup. Our midfield has had injuries but a few will be back for this game. Too early for Thomas Asante as he is just back in training after being out injured for ages. Might be Simms up front as our normal main striker Wright hasn't scored for 14 games 😆 He has been unlucky though. We haven't been playing Simms much but he is getting a goal a game when started. Sorry I can't help much but we just don't know who will be ready and fit enough.
  23. You have more important things to talk about than the football itself.
  24. ITV digital? Our club was hit the hardest by it. When we went down so did ITV digital at the same time. It's a lot better for me on here since it was noticed I'm not here to take the p1ss. Half my family are Leicester and the other Coventry. Both sides have their idiots. Look on here how many hate Coventry. And for what? A local rivalry that lots say isn't local rivalry?
  25. And this is my point on why I'm not expecting an easy game. The players for my team give 100% every game. Van Ewijk had to play 2 games as soon as he could after getting the flu virus that went through our squad as we had run out of players. He was sick at the side of the pitch both games but stayed on as long as he could. In one of them games you could see him telling the bench 5 more minutes a few times. But then you come to Ipswich and yourselves. When the players want to play they can. You were the better side when we played at your place. It was our hardest game of the season until Ipswich did the double over us last month. We've only lost 3 games all season. We were W9 D2 L0 at home when we played Ipswich. You're straight after them. If your players are like last game it will be a good game. I can see them putting the effort in for this one.
