  1. It’ll be a close game. United have a bit of confidence, but those wins have come against the leagues bin juice in Wednesday and Pompey. I think we’ll sneak this one 2-1.
  2. It does. I look back to 23/24 and you had four teams who were miles above everyone else, this season it’s certainly more open. I still have a feeling Coventry will have a wobble too, I really can’t predict who will finish where.
  3. He was up against Fellows on that side. Who was certainly faster than him and was the reason for the second yellow. Certainly Southampton targeted that side, Skipp was blowing massively during the second half when he slotted in over there.
  4. I understand. I don’t think a fanbase really gets over a 9-0 drubbing, plus we’ve put 5 past them and arguably got lucky with the ref at their place last season. Living down on the south coast, they are a rather pessimistic bunch and I think I would be too if I’d only seen 6 league wins in 50 odd games.
  5. Plenty out injured for Newport, going to be tough for him.
  6. The last few games Southampton have really used the wingers. They’ve got Fellows on the right with Scienza on the left, the latter looks a real threat. We’re going to need a lot of pace on the right to keep him quiet..
  7. It was mentioned recently that it’ll be early next year but that’s regarding any punishment.
  8. All based on assumption. There could be a claim of loss of revenue but whether it would have stopped us from going the way we did. I’m not so sure.
  9. I suppose that will depend on whether they beat us tomorrow. If they do, I think Eckert will get it
  10. 😎
  11. Southampton won’t go for Gary O’Neil, not with his links to Portsmouth.
  12. It would, but watching the first half against Albion they were very poor and still a bit of a bomb scare at the back. They’ll drop off a bit, but I still think they’ll make the top two with Ipswich when they finally get going.
  13. I missed the 9-0. The last time I got to a match at St Mary’s was back in 2014 when we lost 2-0. That Southampton back line is still a bit vulnerable. Manning struggles to defend against pace and Wood is rash at times. On current form it’ll be close and I’ll settle with a draw.
  14. My local game. Can see it being a draw Tuesday, although for the first 20 minutes today Saints looked very impressive.
  15. Who knows with Southampton though. Some rumblings on the south coast they are looking at someone with a reasonable profile in Germany.
  16. I can’t see relegation happening unless we get hit with a hefty points deduction. The teams at the bottom are dross, I watched a bit of the QPR vs Southampton game last night and both sides were absolute shite. We’ll finish mid table. Chin up!
  17. Nope. Saw in the local paper down here they are looking for a new manager in Germany, so who knows what target that will be. I suppose outside the top four or five clubs in the German top flight, even a Championship team like Southampton would be offering more money than they could afford.
  18. Some strike last night. Living down on the south coast, he’s about the only player the locals aren’t pissed off with yet.
  19. I agree with that. Coventry are an average team who have managed to achieve a bit of consistency. I still believe we’ll have someone from lower down the league surprise us with promotion still. There’s hope for us yet!
  20. And Southampton had more points than them at this stage last season…
  21. Wagner would be a decent shout. Didn’t he get sacked after getting Norwich into the playoffs too?
  22. Have to admit, the Norwich forum makes entertaining reading. Proper meltdown going on.
  23. Would be funny, but I can’t see it happening. I think it shows that the markets have no idea on where Southampton are looking…wouldn’t put it past them appointing the U21 manager who is taking charge of the next couple of games.
  24. Just realised the mistake! Corberan is decent, very good at this level.
  25. It was reported a while back he has issues with his tax status after the Saudi gig. Probably why he didn’t take the Rangers offer… Talking of Rangers, Rohl should have been the choice for us in the summer!
