  1. I've been using plane finder and flight radar for a few years now. It's amazing. As a kid I used to look up at aeroplane trails in the sky and wonder "I wonder where that is going?". Now, I can just point my phone at it and find out what aircraft it is, which airline, how many seats, origin, destination and a load of other useless information.

  2. An interesting development. The part number corresponds with a part from a B777. There have only been four other 777's in "hull loss" incidents (the British Airways crash at Heathrow, an on ground fire on an Egypt Air jet at Cairo, the Asiana crash on landing at San Francisco and the MH17 shoot down in Ukraine) so it rules out the part being from one of those.

  3. Am I the only one who can't stand him, always looks glum, always seems to be carrying some sort of injury when he's losing, and I don't get the hype and love the English media seem to have for his mum!! How did someone get so famous from sitting watching her son play a sport?

He's a great player. So what if he's boring no one's making you go out for a beer with him.

  4. The away stand is awful to watch football from though.

Considering the design constraints (to allow light to the houses behind the stand) and what it replaced (the old Bridgford open terrace complete with massive floodlight pylons) I think it's quite a nice stand. Overall, the City Ground is a pretty good football stadium. The Main Stand could do with some TLC (or ideally replacing altogether).

  5. To much going on in this game! I'm only level 3 and have no idea what I'm doing ha!

That's a bit how I'm feeling about it. I don't want to rush the main story but there are so many side quests (all good so far) that I'm losing track of what I should be doing!

  6. Been struggling for a few years now, mainly depression rather than suicidal thoughts. I just feel pretty numb about things now and struggle to feel any emotions about things. With a baby on the way I'm hoping this changes.

A few years ago my girlfriend (ex) split up with me and it out me in a really dark place. I even went on a forum about the best way to commit suicide, that was really grim.

Reading Darko's story makes me realise just how insignificant my problems are but sometimes I feel like I've got the weight of the world on my shoulders.

That sounds like a really depressing, negative and grim forum. Oh wait....

Sorry to joke; Congratulations on the baby - hopefully it will help. And I don't think you should discount your own problems just because someone else's are "worse".

  7. Well I have have been struggling with these thoughts for a while now tbh but not in an immediate way.

Im a single dad to my son (6 years old ) but he was born with a massively rare heart condition and as so far had 4 major operations one resulting in him having a stroke and some brain damage which thankfully he seems to have recovered from and coming incredibly close to dying on the last one .

He is life limited, The doctors have told me he will only live to so and so age through out his life the latest guess they said will be about 13/14 when he could need a transplant. So the last 6 years i've lived my life from month to month year to year but knowing that i will eventually lose my child early.

So for a while no i have had the thought cross my mind that i can not see the point of it all after he as gone the thing is i know this is wrong and intend to get help for it cuz at the same time i don't want to feel this way . I have very close family and friends and they say they are there for me but that will never be enough for me cuz it wont get rid of that dark cloud on the horizon waiting for me .

What a tragic situation to be faced with. That certainly puts my day in perspective.

I really don't know what to say and the risk of putting something in words here (rather than speaking face to face) is that things could be misconstrued or taken out of context - which is fine when talking about some bloody football team which in the overall scheme of things maters not one jot - but could cause offence with such an emotive subject.

I cannot even begin to imagine how difficult it must be. Being a single parent is tough enough, let alone with the added medical matters.

Do you get support from the health/social services? I can only say that when I hear of a tragedy, it makes me wonder how anyone could continue, particularly after the loss of a child - and yet people do continue through the most immense pain and although I presume they never forget, they are able to move on to some degree. I'm aware of how simplistic that must sound.

I can't really thing of anything to say other than you have to find some hope for the future even if it is to tell everyone about your wonderful son.

Best wishes and I hope you continue to enjoy many more years with your son at your side.

*my colleagues are probably wondering why I have a tear in my eye!

  8. If you're getting battered why don't you just tone the difficulty down? Section ems the obvious choice to me.

Yep, I'm on the second lowest difficulty. I'm not a masochist and I haven't got the time to get killed over and over. Still enjoying it though!

  9. This may just be one of my all time favourite games. Not even scratched the surface yet but I'm already immersed in the world. I'm just enjoying taking my time, doing the side quests - which don't feel like side quests at all and enjoying the scenery.

Unfortunately I don't get too much time to play at the moment but it seems easy to bite size chunks despite the scale of the game, and another small but useful thing is the way it gives you a brief recap of where you are up to when you load up a game. For someone who sometimes may go a week or two between gaming sessions, this is invaluable.

  10. You can buy it from the herbalist in white Orchard mate

Thanks. Sorry for my bird brained questions! If I ask another one to which the answer is "buy it from the herbalist in White Orchard" I will donate £10 to the charity of your choice.

  11. Just adding to that, once you brew them, you can automatically have them restocked when you meditate as long as you have Alcohest (I think its called). So its normally worth crafting every recipe at least once so then you don't need to worry about it afterwards.

Thanks. Where do I get Alcohest from?

I don't want to get too carried away about this game but it is incredible. It's not perfect but it's pretty close. Best game I've played in years.

  12. Go to the herbalist in white orchard. Any ingredients you have missing you can buy off her. I was in the same predicament last night. Found myself still with no potions or bombs. Went to the herbalist and brought the ingredients i needed and now i have 4 different types of potions. You should be able to brew a few potions providing you have found the recipes.

Bombs aswel any materials u need just visit shop keepers/blacksmiths they will sell what you need or take note on what materials you need and see if you can dismantle your weapons for them.

Thanks mate. Been wondering round picking every kind of flower and plant I could find! Will locate the herbalist tonight when I play.

  13. I had a good 3 hours on it last night. Did a bit more of the main story. I find myself still a low level though so ive decided to go back and just go exploring. Its crucial to explore so as to get the extra ability points. Found some great weapons and armor hidden away aswel.

I agree this is the best game ive played in a long time. Still hate the size of the text in the menus though. Find myself standing up in front of the TV when im crafting or doing alchemy.

Annoys me aswel ive got quests that recommends you to be level 30+ and im only level 4 lol

Yes, I had an explore around the first village and found some useful stashes. But I am still missing some items to brew useful potions. Any that you can recommend I try to get first?

  14. lol in no way at any point have i thought you were picking on me. You really are a strange one. Anyway back to the game. Getting a few hours into it now. Really starting to enjoy it. My main hate is the size of the text on the menu screens. I also had it crash on me once has anyone else had an issue?

Going to have a blast on it tonight.

I decided to re start last night mainly due to be being stuck by being under prepared. Going to take my time before rushing on with the main story. The game looks superb (PS4 version - can't vouch for X360 or PC). The world seems very well designed and begs to be explored.

  15. Having read up some more about the game, I'm considering a re start when I get a chance to play again. I feel like I may have missed out on stuff, and consequently I am now poorly equipped (or at least not as well prepared as I should be).

And I don't think anything I've put so far could be regarded as a "Spoiler" but I'll take care to be even more vague from now on.

  16. Had a proper blast on this last night. Great game. My original concerns with the controls went away once i turned the sensitivity down a touch. Still find the menus text to be rather small which is my only gripe but i can accept it when there is so much to do in the game.

One word of advice. Dont rush through the story as sidequests become unavailable when you progress

I think I may have been guilty of this and I've ended up stuck on a main mission ("Wandering In The Dark") where I can't get past a particular enemy and I have no potions or anything. May backtrack a little, but the last available save was meeting the Baron (which is a few hours ago). What to do? Oh well, no time to play over the weekend so will pick it up again next week!

  17. Played an hour last night. Had a slight lag in the scene with the Griffin but other than that its been fine. Really enjoying it and done my first side quest helping out the blacksmith.

The controls feel a bit iffy though. Sure i will get used to it though.

Little problem i have at the moment is the menu screens. The words are so small i had to get up and stand nearer the TV just to read it. I was playing late at night though so i may have just been tired.

Will give it another go tonight. Good start and i know once i get to the nitty gritty i will love it.

Anybody play the card game Gwent. Love card games inside a game. I will look to master that aswel

I echo much of this. Have really enjoyed it so far, the side missions are brilliant and the world is very immersive. But I am struggling with the controls a bit, especially in the heat of a battle and also confused by the updgrades and skill trees and stuff. But I suppose I'll get the hang of it eventually.

Had a glitch on a side mission where I got killed at the climax of the mission, but when I reloaded it went back to the start of the side quest but with no means of completing it (as if it had already been done?)

  18. Trust it to start hammering it down with rain as im about to leave the office to walk to Rugby town centre to buy this. Oh well a bit of rain wont hurt anyone. Anyone else picking this up today?

It's all ready to go on my PS4, but I've not had time to start it yet. Maybe tonight after the kids are in bed...
