There's been no reports of anyone being to blame - it could be either or both. If they are demanding a deal that we can't reach because of FFP then we obviously aren't able to proceed, therefore it's Inter who have caused the problem. I'm not sure what we could have done to make it unworkable because of FFP, other than not be able to meet their valuation.
-
That's a completely different debate that i've no interest in having - you asked only about this deal, and my answer is a perfectly rational and reasonable take on the sensi deal.
-
because we lost Casadei? Really? Watch us free fall now, as a result.
-
Casadei was poor and ndidi was only good because we had no one else better, but he was/is not a #8. I've been more than impressed with Yunus, and now we have shown that Raikhy can step up - it's not like we lost any significant quality, or that we didn't have excess to start with.
-
It seems more than reasonable - there's no reason why we would sabotage something that benefits us, whilst every reason for inter to try and call our bluff and ask for more than we feel is right, or that we can afford.
-
How about: he was a luxury signing who wasn't worth risking breaching FFP for, who will still probably be available in the summer on a free. People in meltdown because we haven't seen it through, but maybe that's because the club aren't idiots who are prepared to føkk everything just to have a player who we don't really need coming in. It's not exactly a mystery.
-
That wasn't the point i was discussing - the OP said Rudkin should be aware of the legal ramifications, but, not being a lawyer, he can only follow the advice he is given.
-
With lawyers, not with DoFs. We haven't breached FFP, which would suggest we know exactly what we're doing as far as FFP is concerned.
-
Well, not necessarily - the plan was always that we'd sell someone first, because we haven't done that, maybe we're trying to rejig the deal without needing to sell?
-
Is it not possible that the original plan was that we'd sell someone and that the sudden recalculation is because we're trying to find a way to do this with out selling anyone?
-
he's a DoF not a lawyer - i'd be very surprised if they don't have a legal team involved at this stage - we're talking about million pound deals and super complex FFP rules. I think everyone is massively oversimplifying these things.
-
If that were the case then i doubt we'd have spent 40-odd million in the summer.
-
And yet we are.
-
Yes , i'm sure they were sitting there thinking - we can't afford this, but let's just go through with it anyway. The fact that he's over here for a medical suggests that they felt that they could afford it, none of the latest reports have said anything about money.
-
Well connected? So literally sitting in with the recruitment team right now? It's all just guess work - none of us know. But most of the media seems to be pointing to a 'legal issue' which is perfectly reasonable, unfortunate, but these things do happen-
-
Yeah, I mean it's not like they had anything to do with rebuilding the most dysfunctional team in our history and creating from the rubble the most successful championship team in history....
-
You could understand it if we were desperate and our entire future depended on it, rather than it just being a possible boost to our already boosted squad.

isn't he about 40?

Simply not true - most games teams have played so deep we've had 10 players in the opposition half for long periods. Naturally there are times, from goal kicks etc, where we start deeper, but then that's right at the start of each possession, but gradually we'll work it up. Sometimes, high pressing teams put us in trouble, but 'plenty of chances' is surely an exaggeration.

because it's a formal document - you have to know you're going to need one before you get one, probably have to supply contracts etc.
