  1. I agree completely. And whilst i dont usually use Twitter to verify anything factual, i think it does still prove that there ARE Israelis celebrating right now, even if they are the worst kind..
  2. oh I wouldn’t say that’s quite true…. But I understand your point .lots of Israelis celebrating on Twitter, though.
  3. So wouldn't it be factual to say Hamas is a terrorist organization due to general human experience of terror or as we have clearly defined internationally recognized definitions of what a terrorist group is? Requirements that they appear to have met?
  4. Would you say that it is fact or opinion that the Sahara desert is hot?
  5. It a shame we don't have an 'agree' button rather than just a like button..
  6. It Breaks my heart. It really does. And people could discuss all day long on social media who's to blame and many people throughout social media seem more preoccupied with point scoring and 'proving their point'. But @leicsmac is absolutely spot on. it can be a bit of both. My personal opinion is that The Israelis are completely justified in going after Hamas and wiping them out. What i'm upset about is that civilians are being caught up in the middle of it all. What i'm very very upset about is the cutting off of food, water and electricity as this will directly and unequivocally affect every day Civilians and Israel seem to think that's an ok part of all this. I don't believe its fair to complain that your citizens have been targeted when you go and target someone else's citizens. I know that people will point out the brutality of Hamas as a justification for it but to me, in my simple brain, it call comes under the banner of unjust suffering. And Israel lose all claims to a moral high ground now. What troubles me more is that I don't have a solution other than everyone should ' love thy Neighbor". I think its unlikely though and too far gone for that, unfortunately
  7. Many Western countries and their allies have designated Hamas as a terrorist organization, I don't think the BBS are being objective. Just using legitimate appropriate terminology afforded to them by the countries who have designated Hamas as so.
  8. Please don't take my comment as insinuating that The Israelis are void of blame for any humanitarian concerns - just re-emphasizing that Hamas are a brutal regime.
  9. Everyone is rooting for you, Shakey! We love you!
  10. Definitely read a book called Son of Hamas if you get a chance. It’s about the son of one of Hamas’s founding members turning on them because he was so disgusted with how they treated their own people.
  11. I think the hope for some people is that time can bring in different politicians and peoples will to be dragged into a cycle of perpetual violence can soften over time. I was more being hopeful for a resolution but it has to be said that neither side of the controlling regimes right now want a 2 state solution..
  12. its unfathomable for them to be able to do that..
  13. So just watched a very interesting interview on DW with Ehul Olmert ( former Israeli PM), who stated that right now a two state solution would not be feasible as it would likely involve Hamas on the Palestinian side.He mentioned that if Israel were successful in eliminating Hamas, they would only have to deal with the more moderate Palestinian Authority who are more likely to be able to push through and stick to a 2 state solution..
  14. So those Pesky Israelis Palestinians Iranians Saudis Americans then eh?
  15. I’m a little confused that talking about The Israeli- Palestinian thread was considered politics.. maybe it was because some people had MADE it political… it would be super helpful to find out if discussing the conflict WAS considered political.. or maybe a couple of guidelines on what is considered political would also help
  16. Just to add a point… I hope the people who ( rightly) complained when Russia targeted the energy infrastructure in Ukraine due to the effect on every day people are also in disagreement with Israel cutting off energy food and fuel supplies due to its effect on every day people. sure, some civilians might get caught in the crossfire when targeting Hamas. I think most of us can ( begrudgingly) see that as a sad part of conflict. Gazas last electricity station ran out of fuel today and cutting off food, fuel and electricity has a direct affect on civilians and there can be no ‘ accidental ‘ part about it..
  17. I created it to stop us from overtaking this thread, but… oh well…
  18. I think someone just threw them a flag from the crowd and they picked it up. It wasn’t premeditated, I don’t think..
  19. I’d like to know your intentions for posting this?
  20. I dont think they see it that way.. i think they are more interested in avenging deaths/ suffering. A Music festival calling for peace? Bad target to choose if you're wanting to sway public opinion
  21. you also have to remember how many Jewish people have settled all around Europe. Literally millions and millionsI. Less so in traditionally Muslim countries of course. I’d also say there’s a tinge of sympathy/ responsibility remaining from the holocaust, In short, there’s a natural connection. not as eloquently said as I’d like to explain but I’m tired. It’s been a long day.
  22. just glad Trump isn’t president…
  23. you’re absolutely right. It’s very much in their interest to do that… Also, from the Chinese point of view, it would be a Very good time for them to have military action with Taiwan
