  1. No, the ex Villa womens team DoF took up the role about a month ago now. But no doubt there's a level influence in there from Rudkin somewhere.
  2. Interestingly Boureille and Payne are represented by the same agency. Surely can't be a coincidence. Just something ive stumbled upon... Useless bit of knowledge for the day.
  3. Yep, thats my issue, fortunately my daughter plays in the Leicestershire league, so we wouldn't we too far out the way and kick offs tend to be a bit earlier, it will still be cutting it fine!
  4. PSA... The first 2 home game's kick-off times have been moved to 12:00. The Spurs game has also changed days! Originally scheduled for The 27th of October as an evening kick-off, now moved to 28th. Love the communication from the club... I only realised as I needed to check a couple of fixtures. Someone had previously mentioned that kick-off times could be to blame for declining attendances, well having games start at 12 is definitely not the answer!!!
  5. Signed *midfielder Heather Payne on a free after being out of contract with Everton. Can't say I know too much on her, but seems to be a regular starter for Ireland and Everton. Good to see another player through the door. Interesting its another Irish player, wonder if its coincidence or purposeful scouting. *looking further into it, seems as though she is more of a right-back/winger. Which is more aligned to what we need.
  6. I believe @SK3Blue mentioned that they didnt think she'd return, but she doesn't seem to have officially left yet. To be fair, wouldnt be a bad squad player to have around, but who knows if/how she's developed whilst being on loan. Made 12 appearances for her loan club (according to Wiki), so quite regular play time. Though the season seems to run until November, so I guess may stay there until the end of their season.
  7. Great news about Rantala, would have liked to have seen a new signing as well, like they said they would, but Rantala is as good as a new signing anyway!
  8. Things getting into shape a little more now. There was also the additional 2 signings for the kit release event on Thursday. But thinking about it now, maybe thats Bourielle + 1 more to be announced at the event.
  9. Sounds good. Obviously weird timing for the kits in regards to the mens team, but otherwise glad to hear that we've sealed a couple of new signings, good start... few more sooner rather than later too please. Also, happy to hear we are continuing with the KP shirt sponsorship rather than the rubbish betting company that the mens team will end up with. They did something similar last season if I remember rightly? Wasn't Mace one of those unveiled?
  10. CJ Bott has also joined Wellington Phoenix. Gone back home, probably a great move for her personally. I believe her husband is maybe a professional footy player in NZ or Aus too.
  11. Shot in the dark maybe, but has anyone else seen the "Leicester City Women Season Ticket Benefits" page on the ticket site? It mentions that there is an opportunity for kids to be mascots and also kids events & Christmas party. Was this also on last season as well, or is it a new thing? Certainly don't remember seeing it last season, but they don't appear to have marketed to boost season ticket sales this season either, so easily missed. I've emailed the club for a bit of info on it, haven't heard anything yet, assume I probably never will...
  12. Las and Sherwood have signed pro contracts. Good news, particularly for Las, excited to see what she does this season.
  13. I am looking forward to see what she will bring after a full pre-season with us. You can tell that she's got a great work ethic and attitude, and from some of the pictures I've seen of the clubs pre-season training, she appears to be getting a bit leaner, so hopefully she has a bit more mobility.
  14. Get in! Another member to the Hlin fan club! Welcome, its pretty empty in here at the moment, just me and you, but I think things will start picking up soon.
  15. I'd like to think that maybe she is just seeing how the backroom staff takes shape under the new DoF before making a decision, who can blame her for that. She didnt really get much time at all during the euros (understandable again), so I'm not sure how much she will have put herself in the shop window. After such a serious knee injury clubs tend to be tentative to take them on as those injuries easily reoccur and often aren't quite as good as they were before. So this might work in our favour. Off topic a little, she is younger than I thought too! I thought she was late 20's to 30.
  16. My daughter was playing an exhibition match at whetstone not too long ago, which I believe is Leicestershire football HQ, has King Power sponsorship all over it too, was surprised they don't play there instead of Burton. Hinckley's Leicester Road stadium would also be an option, but i think there's financial stuff going on with that club that may hold it back.
  17. They could open it up for season tickets holders to just book their match day tickets as and when they are going though, rather than reserving a whole seat for them for every game. Similarly as to what they had to do when we played the odd home game at Burton.
  18. Yes, i agree. Playing devil's advocate though, you could argue that Bristol was helped by geography there as well. They practically have the audience of the whole of the west/south West of England as an audience whereby there is no local reasonabley high profile teams about. But that might be a minor point. I don't think there's a real right or wrong answer on how they increase attendance optimally, we just want to see them do something.
  19. I think one of the biggest factors in attendance numbers for us is the fact that Leicester City in general has a relatively small fan base, particularly when you consider those top 5 clubs in the EPL. Its hard to ignore that when the likes of Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool and man U's womens team play at the KP, the stadium is far busier, and not with Leicester fans, but are from Leicester/surrounding areas. I myself have a few friends that are fans of Man U & Liverpool (men's teams) and only really have a passing interest in the WSL. We need to convert those people.
  20. Likewise, I also agree with points made there, particularly with the behind the scenes aspects. I guess we have to sit back and see in terms of incomers that will build on the current squad.
  21. Don't worry, no offense taken. Happy to agree to disagree. Of course none of us know how the season will go now, as you said, we can pull points from any game, this is also down to the unpredictable nature of the WSL, outside of the top 4. Which also adds to the point that you can't apply realism when there is no definitive answer because it hasn't happened yet. Your assumption that I have no deeper understanding of the WSL past Leicester is wide of the mark to by the way.
  22. Im a glass half full kind of guy and those are certainly my expectations. I do expect we will stay up still as despite there being an overhaul in the squad, aside from Momiki, we haven't lost anyone (thus far) that would have been 1st team regulars going into this season anyway, meaning that purely avoiding another injury catastrophe would put us in a better position than last season. Yes we want and need them to strengthen, obviously. But I really don't understand the level of pessimism the team gets given. Also, London City are going to throw money at it this season, but it doesn't guarantee results, and though yes they got promoted, they werent absolute stand-outs to win the championship, so again, I think people still need to be a bit more measured about the perception on them. I understand that generally the club is in disseray right now and the mens team relegation has hit everyone in the guy. But its really not all that bad when it comes to the women's team in perspective. I hope my grammar and spelling above is acceptable, I would hate for you to have to correct me again. Particularly with how sorry you were about doing it last time.
  23. Indeed, thats a very literal way to look at it. They could loose, they could draw or they could even win. But looking at it with the lense of last season, the latter 3 fixtures I listed above are ones that we should expect to take points.
  24. Potentially tough start to the season. Man u away Liverpool at home Chelsea away Liverpool are in a bit of disseray at the moment, so hopefully we can get a result there. We then have; Tottenham at home Everyon at home Villa away So all games we should get something from and pick up points.
  25. Fixtures to be released at 10:00. Season also now starting a bit earlier than usual, 6th September. Surprised considering the Euros.
