  1. Could be reading too much into this, but Yuka, Shannon and Missy have all been featured in a video on the clubs Instagram... potentially a good sign?
  2. Maybe a bid to get her to sign a new contract? Missy's expires this summer too, right?
  3. Off topic, but what had been discussed other day in terms of cross promotion between the men's and women's team. I have just seen the new Chelsea kit promo video... that's what I am talking about... Leicester aren't really big enough to do promos like that, but that should be what we look to.
  4. I think if we gave Hlin a proper pre season she could be really great, she's and absolute unit and holds up the wall brilliantly, has a great touch and seems to have a great eye for a pass. It does mean she hasn't maybe got a lot of pace, but I thought against West Ham, she seems to have picked up a lot compared to her first few games. She also seems to have a fantastic attitude, she's always happy to see fans and goes out of her way, always see her helping do things like carry the kit pre-match, ect... She has the hallmarks of what great strikers in the WSL have like Kerr, Shaw and Ramirez. But from what little we have seen from Mouchon, they do seem kind of similar and the bias you've pointed out before for French players might (likely) mean that she is in front of Hlin still...
  5. To be honest, I'd like to think negotiations may be still ongoing. But I guess if you wanted it to go under the radar, this weekend would be a good time to do it. But I don't think they really will think that the women's team fan base is big enough for them to think that deeply about it.
  6. Anxiously checking the clubs Instagram daily to see if they've posted a released list yet...
  7. Be great to see if we can get Draper and Las regular starting or just playing time next season.
  8. Feels a bit rubbish if they are trying to low ball players, particularly those that have been really great servants to the club like Howard. Appreciate that we need to find better, but they deserve more respect than that. I don't rate Howard that highly, but she's more than capable of doing a job.
  9. Bott is a weird one, shes a great leader and can be really solid for a majority of a game, but she is so incredibly error prone it is unreal, if she cut it out of her game, she would be really great. I'm not really to sure on what basis you could take Ale out of the team, she's been one of the most consistent performers, particularly during the 2nd half of the season. I think we're all worried about how the transfer window will go, if we're backed and we can offer decent contracts to key players and upgrade in other places, I think we will be okay. Always a big but though
  10. This is probably way too soon to know... But does anyone know when season ticket renewals may open up? And also, this season there was a need to re-pick seats... do we know if there may be a need for that again? I love our seats at the minute, would really hate to loose them.
  11. I believe that sky sports have extended the amount of games that they are going to be covering, so that's likely going to reduce the YouTube games. I am sure that I heard the YouTube coverage was a relatively short term plan with the view to get eyes on the product and in turn being able to sell the rights for coverage for more money. I don't think that the YouTube coverage will have much impact on attendance in the short term as I don't think many people know that it's there. If it was expensive to go to a game, people would be more likely to find an alternative, but as it's cheap, the only other big reason is going to be whether a game is away, in which most fans can't get there.
  12. I am surprised with how little cross promotion there is. Let's be real, if you are a fan of the Leicester women's team, you are probably a Leicester men's team fan, so even things like having separate social media profiles and things like that is a bit odd to me. It wasn't until the start of this season as well that I realised the women's team trained at the old training ground. It seems great they have their own space, but I am sure having the ability of sharing the amazing, state of the art new training ground would help this too. It can't be a space issue because it's huge!
  13. Off the top of my head, under 8's are free. But even after that I'm sure it's only about £15-20 until over 18, could be wrong on that though.
  14. It's not a bad idea, I think they would have to balance the operational cost of having to run a whole stadium, but maybe only a quarter of them are paying season ticket holders vs. only having a quarter full stadium open of paying customers. It's the least arsenal could do for their fans knowing how much they fleece them for season tickets... And probably covers the operational costs. I definitely do think that if the men's team used their platform to help push women's team games more, it would help build the supporter base. I just don't think it's really known about much. I rave to everyone about going, particularly those with young kids, people just don't realise how much more family and pocket friendly it is, whilst also seeing some of the best players in the world (obviously not our players...).
  15. Shame, I forgot she was on a loan. She's starting to shine for her national team, so I'd imagine she may be getting better offers to be fair. Would have liked to have seen her stay.
  16. I think the season ticket pricing is pretty spot on really. Me and my 6 year old daughter come, so she gets in free. And so for about £4 a game, you really can't go wrong. And yes we do also then spend £5 on parking now and again, but even still, it's a fraction of the price of a men's game. We've really enjoyed it and fallen in love with the women's game more than the Men's. Particularly disillusioned by the men's game and the price We've had season tickets for the past 2 seasons now and don't plan on stopping for the foreseeable.
  17. Unfortunate, she's one of my daughter's favourite players. Overall though, it was definitely one of those end of season games where it's just an entertainer. Didn't play amazingly, but got over the line nicely. Momiki is the outstanding candidate for player of the season, but Ale isn't too far behind her, she's had a pretty sensational season really. All eyes on contracts now, would make sense to have that sewn up before the Euros...
  18. I can handle those 3 going. I still can't shake that Momiki doesn't seem particularly happy, but would be by far our biggest loss if she was to go. Tierney also seemed to be giving off the body language of not being here next season. Cain, we already know will be going and was very much signalling that during the game. Rose also seems to be off from what I saw, in that she just didn't engage with any fans after the game really at all and was the first one to leave the stadium. Though I could be reading too much into it all...
  19. Yes, we have her until end of next season at least. So long as someone doesn't come and poach her.
  20. I don't think Miquel is a bad manager as the way she seems to approach games would tend to be what I'd expect (though obviously I'm not a football manager either, I just can't complain too much). I just don't think we've got the quality across the team to contend consistently. So the worry is that rather than building, we end up doing damage limitation. We had a really good run of form as we started to see player return from injury, but it's tailed off as we've secured safety, read into that what we will... Concerned Momiki is going to be one of those off, reading her body language recently, she doesn't seem happy...
  21. As well as Rantala and Leitzig, Goodwin is another that we should also really be tying down. I would also be very concerned if Momiki left, the thing that I think may benefit us with her is that, she's a standout player for us, but I'm not sure she would get into those top half clubs starting 11's regularly. I've liked Rose when she's come on, but it's so rarely that she gets more than 15 minutes in a game, it's probably not likely she will stay. I'd like us to also keep Takarada, Thibaud and O'Brien. Wouldn't be too upset about the rest...
  22. I find the Rantala situation gets weirder and weirder week on week. With how important she was/is for our season last year and often carried the team on her back, you would think they'd be more open with updates. I wondered if it was maybe due to a level of care she would get? Like, are the women's team going to pay for care at the same level as the men's teams? (Knowing a lot of ops will take place in places like America with world renowned specialists) Maybe there's a physiological reasoning? Not long ago it was mentioned on here that there is a ACL problem in the women's game, does it go further than that? Makes the women's game feel a lot more grass-roots than it should be.
  23. Missed the majority of the game today so can't pass too much of a comment. It is getting a bit disappointing now, even as a pretty staunch defender recently. Today should have been a relatively comfortable 3 points and set us up for a bit of a confidence boosting end of the season.
  24. I might be wrong, but I am sure I read that they decided against that in the meantime.
  25. It's not really doom and gloom is it... We're 2 points off what we ended with last season, so whilst we've not improved our points tally, we have been battered by injuries to the point of playing Takarada up front for a good chunk of the season and during that time we still had one of the best defensive records in the league. You could very much argue that without a couple of key injuries we would likely have picked up a few points at least. I've moaned about our wingers enough and I agree with points made above, directness is good, but it does need to be done smartly. I don't think O'Brien is cut out for going through the middle, she's rarely in the right positions when the wingers do need her and being slightly built, she's just not able to stand up to players. I've been banging this drum, but I would really like to see Eiriksdottir get a start up front, particularly against Palace she could get a lot of joy. Shame we haven't seen Swaby much at all this season, assume it's due to injury? She also went straight down the tunnel when she got took off and saw her pointing to her hamstring, so hopefully it's not a reoccurring injury if so. Overall I'm not too concerned about the performances recently as at the end of the day now, it doesn't really matter so much now we're safe. The biggest worry (by a country mile) should be contract status' and the amount of key players that are out of contract at the end of the season. That's what is effecting my optimism for next season...
