  1. We should have got Skinner when she was sacked from West Ham.
  2. I think if we are honest, we didn’t play too badly today. There's not a lot anyone could have done about Lauren James' goals, though the 3rd shouldn't have been a freekick in the first place. We looked somewhat of a threat when we actually pressed and played positively. We've certainly played a lot worse at least. I do think we should have enough against Charlton, but unless we're actually going to take the league seriously next season, there's no point.
  3. I hope that the club treat this similarly to the way they treated the FA cup semi final and try to encourage attendance, offer free bus travel, or something along those lines. Would also be interesting to see how many away tickets Charlton will make available too. Are they likely to fill a stadium?
  4. In fairness, Leicester do actually do that, but it is very limited numbers.
  5. You would be surprised by how many girls have no idea about the WSL generally, they won't get interested if their local team is getting whipped constantly
  6. With how this season has gone, does it count as self-harm?
  7. Heads-up on the match tonight, if you wanted to put yourself through the torture and have a VPN, you can watch it on the WSL YouTube channel on a Japanese server. Is it worth the effort? Probably not...
  8. A lot of teams are essentially selling their football teams to a subsidiary of the club. Chelsea and Villa have done it, means they are financially distinct and pours a bit of money into the parent company. This might he the direction if KP had a bit of money in the account. I highly doubt the women's team would fold, people don't realise there is still an academy system and things like that which still sit behind it, even if not at the scale of the mens team. It's still not a simple decision of winding them down.
  9. Wow, Quorn have even less of a stadium than Hinckley's Leicester Road... I think I'd rather play in the sparsely attended KP than there. I think even I've played on the Quorn pitch a couple of times...
  10. Were did the team play their home games when they were in the WSL2? I only started following when we got promoted to the WSL... Surely we're not playing at the KP if we're not in the WSL.
  11. It's a shame the team are cowering in those trenches rather than putting up a fight.
  12. This is something that I am considering too, i think the cost of running the women's team is about £5m, similarly to the cost of the mens academy. When you compare that to the expected income with the men's team in league 1, there's not much room to maneuver. So it's not about it being an encumberence, more of us just having the money to float the team. Whereas the cost to run a womens team in WSL2 is much, much less. As this season has gone on, there has been a strong feeling of managed decline. And so, feels like they are hoping we get relegated to WSL2 this season. It seems like everything the club has will likely go on keeping the lights on in the training ground!
  13. What have they been "reflecting and reviewing"!? Come back from nearly a month off and nothing has changed.
  14. Completely forgot we even had a game today until about 20 minutes into the first half... Wish I'd stayed blissfully ignorant. There's just nothing about us and hasn't been particularly since Christmas. Yet to pick up a point since the winter break, I'm sure. Mouchon is the only one that drives us forward, but she can't get a touch of the ball as we've constantly got our backs to the wall and unable to get a grip of the game ar any point.
  15. Almost scored as many goals in those internationals than our team have scored all season.
  16. You'd maybe expect it, she'd be too good to be in the WSL2, though I don't think she's had a great 2nd half of the season when she has played. I feel like Las is probably also not much longer for these pastures. Isn't getting game time at a bottom of the league really poor Ipswich. And I've seen on her socials that she also now has a new agent.
  17. Shouldn't be too concerning, there's a long time until the next game unless it's something serious.
  18. Good to see Denny is capable again, was really worried. I had a feeling Liv maybe had an underlying injury that was keeping her out the starting 11, but her continued inclusion in these squads puts that to bed and makes it even weirder. Liv hasn't played as well recently as she did at the start of the season where she was outstanding. I do think that Jansson serves a purpose as a CDM and hasn't been too bad, Tierney is then your typical playmaker and Liv is your box-to-box. It means we lack creativity, but none of our players have that anyway, so we just have to play with what we've got. Playing Lehmann as a 10 just doesnt work as she doesnt have the physicality to compete.
  19. Another subject to moan about. How on earth are we going into another stint whereby we have pretty much another 4 weeks until our next game!? I get the expansion of the WSL should help, but with how many huge gaps there is constantly, it's not going to resolve it. International breaks are going to kill any momentum the WSL has.
  20. I get what you are saying, but the inclusion of Mayling, Neville and Lehmann are a net improvement in quality compared to pre-january transferwindow, it's the style of play and tactics that are holding us back, not necessarily the personnel. Personally I really don't rate Tierney, she was our best player yesterday, but not because of quality, she was just one of the only ones to put in a proper shift and showed fight. Ironically, Lehmann and Neville had shockers yesterday. Mayling also didn’t have her best game, but they just don't seem to be given the licence to overlap and make those runs forward like they had on their first couple of games (in which they all looked promising).
  21. I just had a bit of delusion and thought to myself that surely he would get sacked at the end of the season even if we don't get relegated. But I snapped myself out of it, I doubt he will, will he.
  22. That would be bonkers if it's true. When our players are lucky if they get a 2-year contract, how can you offer a manager (that kind of got the job on a technicality) a 3-year. We were desperately poor today, probably our worst performance at home this season. Brighton aren't a great team and they just dominated us the whole game. Definitely could/should have been 2 or 3-0. Genuinely can't see any way forward. I don't want to see us relegated, but it feels like it will do us some good in a way. Similarly to when the men's team got relegated to league 1 (history repeating), it allowed the team to turn over a new leaf and refresh. As a side-note, the level of officiating in the WSL is horrendous and i know Bompastor raised it, but i don't know how more isn't being discussed about it. Almost every game I've seen this season the ref is dreadful, sometimes we benefit from it, but just as often we're the victims of it. Certainly the ones that benefit from it the most are the top 4.
  23. I agree, it wouldn't be impossible, we could win today and potentially against LCL and Everton, winnable games, but 2 out of 3 being away doesn't give me hope. Unfortunately, it's just a case of there not being a lot to write home about. Signing Lehmann and the FA cup semi final has probably been the only notable events since being promoted. Oh and Willie Kirk... But probably not something positive we want to remember...
  24. Would love to be optimistic about today, but I can't see 3 points. If we play like we did for the first half against Villa, there's a chance, but I don't see a 90 minute performance like that in us either. Predicting 1-1.
  25. Would there not be a expiration date of the covenant? Genuinely don't know...
