  1. Looking forward to blowing Man City away tonight and winning at least 3-0... In all seriousness, project "avoid a hiding" will be back on tonight.
  2. Lehman isn't the answer, no and it wasn't what I was insinuating, but it is an improvement on others. I agree with what you've said about Rachel Williams, it looks like she really needs to be playing as a 10 and then having mouchon ahead of her to do the running. I do think she's a good signing though and has brought some quality, we're just not playing her in the right way to get the best out of her. I've often said that I couldn't disagree with what Rick has done this season so far, or I at least can see the reason why certain decisions had been made. But the last couple of games, it is hard to defend him. I highly doubt he is going to be sacked before the end of the season. Would have liked us to bring in Rehanne Skinner, as her and Rick obviously go back. It really does make me wonder what position we might have been in if Beard had taken over, if not for his sad passing.
  3. I do think the fact that we have recruited well during January will save us one way or another. I really hope we dont have to go through the playoffs, but even if we do, we should be quietly confident. The new signings have made a positive impact. Lehman particularly played well yesterday, arguably our best player in the 1st half at least.
  4. I am well and truly eating my words... Those home games against Villa and Brighton are must win now, as well as the Liverpool game, but the fact we're away isn't promising.
  5. Something I'd noticed on the teamsheet and can't see that anyone else mentioned it... There was a player called Walne on the bench... Is this an academy player? She didn’t look that young. Have I missed something?
  6. There's positives to take out of that game, we could have easily been demolished, but it was a decent performance. The inability to take our chances harms us every time. We should have had a penalty and their 2nd should have been a foul in the lead up. Certainly that's how both looked from the stands. Same again next weekend. I'd like to see mouchon given a more extended run out.
  7. We've not been too bad really. Haven't taken our chances as usual. It's as the game goes on and we start pushing, we will start leaving gaps and then will try and take us apart if we're not careful.
  8. I don’t mind the experimenting, but the logic behind the choices they make is purely for the benefit of the bigger clubs and the lionesses. I am looking forward to there being more teams in the WSL and therefore being more games. The Euro qualified teams moan there's too many games, whilst others have to just get on with the bare minimum.
  9. Looking forward to the game tomorrow. I don’t expect us to get anything from it. A draw wouldn't be totally out of the realms of possibility, if we can keep it tight, maybe squeeze an early goal. It would be refreshing to take this like we should approach the games against the top 4 and go for it as a bit of a free hit. Throw everything at it.
  10. Probably a good move to give her consistent minutes. Ideally should have done this at the start of the season if this was how it was going to pan out for her. Really hope she gets reintergrated next season. Looks highly unlikely that there will be any incommers now.
  11. Emma Saunders reporting that we are looking to bring in Lexi Potter in on loan, but Chelsea are reluctant. Not sure she's the playmaker we need.
  12. Going to be an interesting day tomorrow for deadline day for both mens and womens teams. I expected maybe one more through the door before the deadline, but typically we've heard about them a little bit in advance, so maybe not. Correction - WSL deadline is tomorrow at 11pm
  13. I agree, specifically for the men's games, unfortunately there's a small minority that you can't trust, but will ruin it for everyone.
  14. She does seem like a good player and a great character, but hasn't been able to find her groove. I still think she has great potential, so hopefully can go and develop a little bit more and come back. But loans seem to mean that they are just surplus to requirements in the women's team.
  15. I honestly dont remember her touching the ball really.
  16. Good point. Still a game we're not getting points from, whenever it rolls around. Probably not the worst thing in the world to have a couple of weeks break after the past few results, reset and get the new signings more integrated. Hopefully we will have 1 or 2 more before deadline day. Not convinced though.
  17. We could and should have won that, lack of drive going forward and defensive mistakes have cost us again. Really thought we'd take this one, or draw at least. To see Liverpool win has blown it open massively. We are very unlikely to pick up any points over the next 3 games, hopefully those around us haven't picked up too much steam in the mean time. I can't say we played badly today, Swaby had a shocker, and the ref was abysmal. Cain has gone back to how she was last season in not being able to hit a barn door. The big difference between us today was they had quick and tricky wingers, which allowed them to sit with a flat back 5 and we just couldn't play through them.
  18. I fancy a tight 2-0 win. Excited to see the new recruits at home, hopefully they're fired up to give a good performance too. We do tend to have a decent record with those in/around us, particularly at home. I'm not putting money on it though.
  19. I agree, it is great to see her back running, I still think there's probably a very long road ahead though, im sure I'd read that Rick doesn't think she will even train with the first team until near the end of the season. We all hope she can pick straight back up again, but it's an extremely long amount of time to not be playing football.
  20. Off the topic of the moment. I've just watched the Spurs game extended highlights from the FA cup (late i know). We were totally our own worst enemy, it seemed like all the goals are from our own errors and 3-0 definitely flattered them. We didn't create a lot ourselves (no surprises there), but it shows we can hold our own, we really just need to stamp out these daft mistakes.
  21. It's a massive bone of contention, particularly personally as I coach my daughters U8 team, fortunately if we're playing at home, our kick-off times give us enough time to play and get up to the KP, but if we're playing away, often the kick off times are slightly later and we have a choice to make. It is cutting out a generation, not only to be fans of WSL, but potentially be inspired into playing.
  22. We need to build the club in some way, you can't sign good players if those players are just not really aware of your club. She's not going to singlehandedly win us games and I think everyone admits she's not a top quality player, but she's an improvement on what we have. And just look at how much activity there has been on this thread in the past 24 hours. It's been busier than I have ever seen it. Brings bums on seats and eyes on our games, whether we like it or not.
  23. Nah, the women's DoF was previously DoF for Villas womens team.
  24. Unsurprisingly, it's not Rudkin. The women's team have a different DoF.
  25. Only just announced and I am sure the engagement is higher than anything the women's team have seen before. It's even made it onto the men's team socials too... Never seen before!
