A couple of important points: 1) The Premier League does not determine the punishment. That's decided by an independent panel - and they have shown that they usually award much lower points deductions than the PL wants. 2) We have successfully challenged the PL and the EFL when they've tried to act outside the rules. We can't be punished for that - that would be like a court quashing a conviction on appeal but throwing the accused in jail anyway for the hell of it...

This may well be the case. I'm just curious to know what the source is for the claim that we have already signed him - I've read it a few times but I don't know whether it's definitely true or just a rumour.

If it's just an agreement and is not legally binding, it may not be done after all.

The club won't go anywhere near Moyes. Maresca was appointed to play a particular style of football, as were Rodgers and Puel before him. Top wants us to play passing football, and we have assembled a squad that is designed to do exactly that. The plan was very much to continue playing that style in the PL. The plan is not going to change just because Enzo is no longer around to implement it - we will 100% be going for another manager who favours possession-based football. Moyes is not that manager so he is almost certain not to be considered.

They’re all basing it on the Daily Telegraph article, which itself is vague about where that range has come from. It’s incredible that they just keep repeating it when a simple fact check would show that anything more than 12 points is impossible under the rules.
