  1. Exactly. And the spread of the odds suggests nobody has any inside info on who we’re likely to get.
  2. These odds are pure guesswork. There is clearly nothing coming from the club - probably because the club itself has no idea yet who our next manager will be.
  3. He has, but any discussion of him is pretty academic in that there is virtually zero chance of the club going for him.
  4. Leeds fans really would riot if that happened. They are very, very emotionally invested in us getting whacked with a huge deduction and being relegated. It means a great deal to them.
  5. I didn’t say it was £25m below Forest’s.
  6. When we were charged by the PL, Kieran Maguire (who spends his life studying this stuff) looked at our financial statements over the past three years and estimated that our PSR loss would be £25m - ie, less than Forest’s. I don’t know how he came to that figure and he could of course be wrong, but that was his conclusion. We haven’t breached PSR for the season just gone and still may not. We were completely vindicated in our refusal to submit a business plan to the EFL, so we can’t get punished for that.
  7. That’s Everton and Forest. We have no idea what our PSR loss is for the period, unless you have inside information.
  8. Previous experience suggests he’ll need to reject us at least three times before we reluctantly move onto other targets.
  9. We’re not short of money.
  10. That’s a massive assumption. How do you know the club would not be on board with Enzo’s desire to strengthen the structure around the first team?
  11. If Enzo doesn’t get it, I assume he won’t be thanking Fabrizio Romano for telling the world that he was ‘super keen’ to join Chelsea…🤔
  12. Do we get more money from them if the logo is bigger?
  13. Not really. Managers rarely make public statements when they’ve linked with other jobs, especially during close season when they’re not being asked about them in press conferences.
  14. Yeah I know. But the fact that the odds are swinging around so much and no candidate has been odds-on yet suggests that nobody has a clue about how this one is going to go...
  15. De Zerbi is now favourite with the bookies. It makes sense, too - Enzo and De Zerbi are close friends who espouse the same footballing philosophy. The main differences between them are: 1) De Zerbi has much more managerial experience, including in the PL; and 2) De Zerbi is a free agent, which means there will be no compensation to pay. Enzo, by contrast, would cost around £10m. Given Chelsea's widely-reported challenges with PSR, this aspect should not be underestimated.
  16. Even if they say, "You'll have no input on transfers and Todd would like the power to overrule you on team selections if necessary"? I'm not suggesting they will say that, but your post implies that Enzo will take the job on any terms just because he's spoken to them. I'm not sure - I think it's pretty normal to talk to prospective employers and then turn them down because you're not convinced by what they say...
  17. Yep. He's been dragging his feet over taking a club job and Southgate may well be off after the Euros. It fits.
  18. Come on. It's obvious that if he speaks to them but isn't offered it, he'll just spend his days locked in his office at Seagrave, wearing a padded Chelsea coat with 'EM' embossed on it, watching videos of their 2005 title win under Mourinho while quietly weeping.
  19. The Evening Standard is reporting that there has been a lot of money placed on Mourinho in the past few hours...
  20. I guarantee you that if he speaks to them but isn't offered the job, he will come back and will remain as our manager. Top won't sack him and he won't resign.
  21. This is a classic example of attentional bias. We obviously pay more attention to the Maresca rumours because they directly affect us. However, this distorts our perspective so we end up greatly overestimating the probability of him leaving.
