Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
ClaphamFox replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Everton's eight points are for two separate seasons, not one. I'm expecting 4-6 for us, with 6 slightly more probable. You make a good point, but if you read the full statements of the panels that reviewed Everton's and Forest's cases, they do mention 'sporting advantage' quite a lot. So the extent to which clubs have gained from cheating would appear to be a factor in determining the punishment. But who knows? Certainly not me... -
Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

I don't think anybody really knows. Even the football finance experts seem to disagree - Kieran Maguire has estimated our breach to be slightly less than Forest's; Stefan Borson seems to think ours is much worse. And while Forest and Everton gained from their breaches, we were relegated. Will that be taken as mitigation? Opinions seem to vary. However, apparently the panel that deals with these cases only handles one at a time, so now that Forest's case has been dealt with we'll probably soon know when ours will be heard. -
I suspect that's because there isn't really an explanation, as such, for why people become so passionately attached to wild theories that have zero evidence base. It's not a rational or evidence-based position, so by definition defies explanation. It's a psychological phenomenon, not an intellectual one. As Monibot discusses in the article, some people seem to find emotional security in the idea that most of the bad things in the world are the result of a secretive cabal of (probably Jewish) villains whose influence extends everywhere but is impossible to pin down. Simple, all-encompassing theories are easier to digest, and therefore provide more immediate comfort, than complex reality. Anyway, a really interesting article. Thanks for sharing it.

Yeah but apart from that, there’s no excuse for us not signing 4-5 players before the end of May.
-
If Brighton is the best offer he gets I suspect he’ll still be a Leicester player next season.
-
I suspect Maresca will demand a lot more influence over transfers than just being ‘consulted’. He needs players who are capable of playing in the style he wants us to play. He will want the ultimate say on who we buy and sell.

Probably not until they’ve concluded negotiations with those they’d like to keep on.
-
They’ve just achieved back to back promotions after years of being in the doldrums. They’re back in the PL after 22 years away. Why on earth would anybody begrudge them a bus parade?
-
It won’t be 8-10.
-
Not when they’ve just come off the barbecue

I went out for a drink with a friend who supports Birmingham the other night. He was adamant they would win today and was asking me if we’d do the business for them. I promised him that we would. I don’t know what I was thinking - I feel really guilty now…😢

Yes

This is a perennial fact about Leicester kits.
-
I will be amazed if he isn’t.
-
Out of curiosity, why would you post a picture of a company’s logo in a thread on the new kit, without any comment, then laugh when people jump to the conclusion that it might be the new sponsor?
-
What’s damning about it?

It suggests the club is terrified of having honest conversations with our own managers about our finances. If we get a reputation for this, it won't exactly help us when we next need to recruit our next manager. I can just see Enzo in his post-match presser tomorrow, happily announcing that he's been assured by the club there will be ample funds available to strengthen the squad while Rudkin shifts uncomfortably, purses his lips and stares at the ceiling...

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

There continues to be a lot of chatter online about Leeds (and possibly other clubs) suing us because we've been promoted after being charged with a PSR breach. However, I'm completely ignorant on the law in this area and have found nothing online that provides clear guidance. Does anybody know how much of a case they'd have? Specifically, could they sue us for a 2020-23 breach given that we were relegated at the end of it and did not deprive them of a place in the PL? Their fans seem convinced they've got a case because they think we should have been given a points deduction this season and have gained an advantage by avoiding that - but given that PL/EFL rules did not enable a points deduction this season, would that hold any water, legally speaking? Just curious really. A lot of very angry people online are frothing at the mouth at the prospect of us being sued out of existence, but none of them seem to know anything about the law - they're just confusing what they want to happen with what is likely to happen. Can anybody provide a cool, objective legal perspective on the issue? -
Given that Taylor went on to prove himself as a top manager by winning major trophies at several clubs, I'd say it must have been the players' fault. Oh wait......I'm sorry. That happened in the alternative universe I occasionally visit when I get bored of this one. It's hard to remember which is which sometimes.

No he isn't, which isn't massively surprising given that there is no crime that he could realistically be prosecuted for. Clearly a lot of people are emotionally invested in the idea that he should be in prison because of the Iraq War, but you can't just throw somebody in jail because some other people quite like the idea.

The entire point of shirt sponsors is to generate additional funds - and if the past few months have taught us anything, it is that we really need to boost our commercial income. If FBS offered the best deal financially, that is who we should choose. If we could generate more funds with an alternative sponsor, we should choose them instead.

KP again, or a new sponsor?
-
Do we know that King Power will be the sponsor again?
