Crap signing, but does mean anything with regards to the identity of our next manager.

No he won’t. -
Well at least we’ll know whether the key variable was Marti.

Was he very salty?

We’re odds on to win with most bookies. You can get 3/1 for a Charlton win.

Premier League has charged LCFC with an alleged breach of PSR

React how? Everton were given one of their deductions in April, a month before the end of the season. -

No. The announcement isn’t ours to make. -

I wouldn't pay too much attention to phrase 'permanent manager'. I think it just means they don't intend to let King have it for more than a game or two—it doesn't necessarily rule out a longer-term interim manager to the end of the season. In fact I suspect they'll probably go down this route. -

Premier League has charged LCFC with an alleged breach of PSR
ClaphamFox replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
The statement above is from January last year, when the arbitration proceedings were ongoing. The PL charged us for 23/24 in May when the arbitration panel concluded that the PL did have jurisdiction for that period. In a statement in response to the charges in May, the club accepted the PL had jurisdiction for 23/24. However, accepting the PL's jurisdiction for that period is not quite the same as accepting the retrospective application of the rule change. Could we be arguing that although the PL has jurisdiction for 2023/24, it should not be allowed to charge us under EFL rules for this period because the rule change that allows this was not introduced until April 2025? This would be consistent with what Kieran Maguire has been heavily hinting at. Whether it's this or something else, I think it's safe to say that our case is turning out to be more complicated than previous cases. Last weekend various media outlets were suggesting that the announcement was imminent and the club was expecting to be docked 9-10 points. Yet it's now Friday and we've heard nothing, so clearly the source for this rumour was jumping the gun—or making it up. It wouldn't surprise me if we still haven't heard by this time next week either. -

I’m pretty sure that we didn’t submit our accounts for 23/24 on time because jurisdiction over that period was still being disputed. Whether that was a wise move is debatable, but it was a deliberate choice by the club. -

We are in serious peril of relegation to League One. Andy King has no experience as a manager and not very much as a coach. Are you genuinely content with handing responsibility for our survival to him? -

Yep, Ange is just the man to bolster our defence and stop us attempting to play high risk passes around the back with players who can’t do it 🙄 -

You may well be right, and the lack of appeal from the club does seem significant. However, Kieran Maguire was on a podcast last week saying that he’d been told by ‘his secret lawyer friends’ that the legality of the PL’s arbitration in this case is still open to dispute. Now I know that football finance experts’ opinions are ten-a-penny and should be treated with caution, but I also know that Kieran Maguire is good friends with Nick De Marco and may well have spoken to him about it. And if Nick De Marco is saying privately that the the PL’s jurisdiction has still not been established, it would raise the possibility that we’re still contesting it. -

The PL clearly believes it has the jurisdiction to charge us for 2021-24, even though we were a Championship cub in 23-24, via a retrospective application of the 'loophole closure' that occurred last April. I suspect our lawyers have strongly contested this based on the fact that, under English law, it is not normal practice to introduce new regulations and apply them retrospectively. I have no legal knowledge so cannot say which side will win the argument, but I wonder if this dispute over the retrospective application of the rules is one of the reasons why we haven't heard anything yet. And if the IC finds in favour of the PL, it wouldn't surprise me if we exhaust every avenue for appeal, possibly even taking it beyond the Premier League Appeal Board and into the law courts. This could drag on for a long time... -

In his interview on RL, Top said that he won't sell up until we're established back in the PL because we wouldn't be able to find a decent buyer otherwise. If you take him at his word, that means relegation to League One will only mean that he remains our owner for longer. -

I found it—it's from a story in the local rag in Portsmouth. I can tell you exactly what's happened here. The reporter has quickly cobbled together a story on the Top interview has used articles from other publications as source material, one of which (probably on Football Insider) has mentioned the possibility we'll get nine points in total. In his haste, the reporter has misunderstood and read it as nine points per charge, and has put that in his article. I guarantee you that a local reporter in Portsmouth will not have uncovered a massive scoop about us getting a record points deduction and then just casually dropped that into an article as background rather than selling it to one of the national tabs. https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/football/portsmouth-fc/portsmouthfc-news-leicester-championship-pointdeduction-psrhearing-5491470 -

I can get behind the idea of an interim manager because the job that needs doing now is fundamentally different to the one that will need doing in the summer. It’s who we get to do it that concerns me.
