What a Difference a Decade Makes ... Same Results, DIfferent Vibe

Late goals coupled with playing poorly. I'm just trying to see all sides of this debate. This is more my situation. Usually in a game, certainly more so with all seater stadium that the fans feeling and actions reflect what is happening on the pitch. When something is happening on the pitch fans get excited and shout support, even, shock horror some will stand. However when there is nothing happening and not looking like it's going to happen then fans tend to just sit and watch almost motionless, then throw in a succession of errors fans will moan surely not an unexpected response. Enzo talks about it being like chess which is not generally seen as a spectator sport and watched I would think by people that know the intricacies, strategies and nuances of chess. I doubt there's many fans watching football for those and definitely won't have got their coaching badges. It will take time for fans to understand and appreciate this way to play and should be afforded the time to adjust. I never went to games looking at the tactical approaches to games rather focusing on individual skills and the outcome of those skills. with the help of @StriderHiryu thread on tactics I'm now starting to see more of that in games hopefully in time I'll come to appreciate that as much as I do individual skills the price maybe that there is less action to see. -

Because we've drawn or lost games where we should have been out of site by conceding last minute goal when that happens it doesn't matter how many times you've won. Fans reflect what is happening on the pitch like most spectator events. If a well known band is crap on stage do the fans cheer, if a play is being badly performed do the audience clap and want an encore. Football is no different really. -

Here’s what supporters have said on X, formerly Twitter: Ashley Parker: Enzo has done remarkable since being here taking the club from the lows of relegation to being top of the champ with a new style. Yes, it can be boring at times, but we are winning games and on course for record points tally so I can see why Enzo is getting frustrated! Andrew Joshi: Be careful what you wish for boys and girls Remember what you felt like last season? losing games and the toxic atmosphere. Don’t fall into the trap of wanting your cake and eating it. Just support the team & Enjoy the ride! WE ARE TOP! Sam Merton: Enzo has done such a good job that large sections of the home support believe a 76% win ratio is normal. It’s not. Stuart B: Am I really seeing people complaining about the way we're playing under Enzo? Yes, we pass it around the back, but then attack with purpose and crucially WIN GAMES. Would you prefer us to play like Leeds and make Play Offs! Katy: Enzo’s going to go if another club comes in for him, isn’t he? I wouldn’t blame him either, we’re top of the league and he’s fighting a losing battle with the ‘fans’ every week. As a fan base, winning the prem ruined us. Entitled & dissatisfied with everything

https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/enzo-maresca-frustration-boils-over-9068058 The Leicester City manager feels it is being taken for granted what his side are achieving after their 22nd win from 29 Championship games against Swansea on Tuesday ByJordan Blackwell 07:10, 31 JAN 2024UPDATED08:34, 31 JAN 2024 Enzo Maresca’s frustrations over the fan response to his style of play boiled over last night as he threatened to leave Leicester City if doubts over his philosophy intensify. Maresca oversaw a 3-1 win for City over Swansea on Tuesday night, a result that puts them 10 points clear at the top of the Championship. They’re not only on course for promotion, but to eclipse the highest-ever points tally in English professional football, Reading’s 106 in 2006. But still Maresca’s style of play has some detractors. There were smatterings of shouts to get the ball forward from the stands at the King Power Stadium, as well as a few groans when City went backwards to keep possession. Since his arrival at City, Maresca has routinely appealed to supporters to get behind his team and create an atmosphere to help them earn big results, and he did so again before the clash with Swansea. But he suggested afterwards that some fans are taking for granted what his side are achieving. “Probably the people, they think it’s easy to win games, but it’s not easy,” Maresca said in his post-match press conference. “I just want to remind that we have played 34 official games and we have won 26. That is a huge number and probably the people they think it’s easy to win games. But it’s not like this. “You can feel the fans when they’re not happy. Probably some people they take some things for granted. But it’s not like this. Twenty-six wins out of 34. It’s something unbelievable. Probably when you win, win, win at home, and you continue to win, people think it’s easy. But it’s not easy. “I arrive in this club to play with this idea. The moment there is some doubt about the idea, the day after, I will leave. It’s so clear. No doubts. “We have won 26 of 34, a huge number. If people think it’s easy and take it for granted, it’s not like this. Huge respect for the players and the effort they are doing. Hopefully we can reach and give our fans the right joy at the end of the season.” Most of the grumbles came in the latter stages of the first half, and Maresca did admit that his team lacked intensity on the ball in that period. He feels his players may have slacked a little after taking the lead so early, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scoring inside three minutes. “In this moment, because we are in the last part of the season, the most important thing is to try to win games,” he said. “Probably the first goal after two minutes didn’t help the team in terms of we thought it was more easy. We dropped the intensity on the ball, not off the ball because we pressed very well, very high. Then second half it was a little bit better. “Even if we drop a little bit the intensity on the ball in the first half, we still had two or three clear chances. I’m very happy because we are in the last part of the season and now it’s important to win games.”

Antique Audio Alcove · Eddie Cochran. Ray Edward Cochran (October 3, 1938 – April 17, 1960) was an American rock and roll musician. Cochran's songs, such as "Twenty Flight Rock", "Summertime Blues", "C'mon Everybody" and "Somethin' Else", captured teenage frustration and desire in the mid-1950s and early 1960s.[1] He experimented with multitrack recording, distortion techniques, and overdubbing even on his earliest singles. Cochran played the guitar, piano, bass, and drums. His image as a sharply dressed and attractive young man with a rebellious attitude epitomized the stance of the 1950s rocker, and in death he achieved iconic status. Cochran was involved with music from an early age, playing in the school band and teaching himself to play blues guitar. In 1954, Cochran formed a duo with the guitarist Hank Cochran (no relation). When they split the following year, Eddie began a songwriting career with Jerry Capehart. His first success came when he performed the song "Twenty Flight Rock" in the film The Girl Can't Help It, starring Jayne Mansfield. Soon afterward, he signed a recording contract with Liberty Records and his first record for the label, "Sittin' in the Balcony", rose to number 18 on the Billboard charts. Cochran died at the age of 21 in St Martin's Hospital, Bath, Somerset, after a road accident in Chippenham, Wiltshire, at the end of his British tour with Gene Vincent on 16 April 1960. After they had just performed at the Bristol Hippodrome, on their way to their next venue, Vincent, Cochran and the songwriter Sharon Sheeley were involved in a high-speed traffic accident in a private-hire taxi. The other two passengers survived with major injuries, but Cochran, who had been thrown from the vehicle, suffered serious brain injuries and died the next day. While they were preparing to board their taxi, Vincent and Cochran rebuffed musician Tony Sheridan's request to ride along with them, resulting in Sheridan's avoiding involvement in the accident.[4] Sheridan later became influential in the musical training of many British groups playing in Hamburg, many of whom would be instrumental in the British Invasion. Though Cochran's best-known songs were released during his lifetime, more of his songs were released posthumously. In 1987, Cochran was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His songs have been recorded by a wide variety of recording artists. Paul McCartney himself chose Cochran's "Twenty Flight Rock" as his audition piece, assured to impress John Lennon by his performance of it, which he did and was hired as a member of Lennon's skiffle group The Quarrymen, which later was renamed The Beatles.

This. In spite of our position in the league for the last number of games we've been underperforming compared to earlier in the season and there's little confidence that we can hang on to 1-0 leads so every mistake, and there are so many by any player causes concern. There was a period yesterday just before we got our 2nd goal where we couldn't get out of our own half through continual unenforced errors, it would have been hard for a neutral to tell which team was clear at the top and which was sitting in 16th place. We know our players are better than that. It's like a malaise sets in when we go 1-0 up and that draws in the the fans Of course there's an underlying feeling of entitlement when your sitting 7 points clear at the top, with the players we have and after last seasons totally unnecessary relegation why would that surprise anyone. That's not to say that after years of being an LCFC fan that people have lost that dread of being let down yet again even after the last 10+ years of success which even in that period has included several let downs. -

Emilia Pelgander Makes Leicester Switch LCFC WOMEN Published 27 Jan 24 1 MinuteReading time LCFC Women has strengthened its midfield options with the permanent acquisition of Emilia Pelgander following the expiration of her contract with Damallsvenskan outfit KIF Örebro, subject to league and international clearance. - Swedish Under-23 international joins LCFC Women - Central midfielder signs a three-and-a-half-year contract - The 19-year-old joins from Damallsvenskan side KIF Örebro The 19-year-old central midfielder has pledged her long-term future to the Foxes having signed a three-and-a-half-year deal at King Power Stadium following four productive years in Sweden’s top flight. Speaking to LCFC.com, Pelgander said: “I’m really excited and grateful for this opportunity. I really liked my first talks with the Manager, discussing how Leicester play and the philosophy here, and I think it will be a good fit for me. “It’s a style of football I like to play; aggressive pressure and trying to keep the ball, and I think Leicester have started a journey that I want to be on.” An exciting prospect, the youngster makes the move to Leicestershire as a regular Swedish youth international having made 22 appearances for the Blue and Yellow's Under-19s and 23s. Pelgander made her league debut for KIF Örebro in July 2020 and became the first player born in 2004 to play in Damallsvenskan. She would go on to make 84 appearances for the Örebro-based outfit in all competitions during her four years with the Club. A breakthrough 2023 season saw Pelgander make 25 appearances for KIF Örebro as her team recorded a 10th-place finish. She will now link up with her new team-mates at Belvoir Drive as the Foxes prepare to take on Everton away from home on Sunday 28 January (12:30pm GMT kick-off).

Stroud to referee Swans visit to Leicester City January 29, 2024 by Swans Info Hampshire born official Keith Stroud has been appointed the referee for the Swans trip to Championship league leaders Leicester City on Tuesday evening. It will be the second time that Stroud has officiated a Swansea City game this season, having been the man in the middle for the Swans Boxing Day drubbing at Southampton. Referee Stroud will be assisted by Lee Venamore and Mark Russell, with David Webb the 4th Official for the game at the King Power stadium. If you have a read of Keith Stroud’s statistics when officiating Swansea City games, you’ll understand why he isn’t one of the most popular officials with Swansea City fans. Keith Stroud EFL Championship Record 2023/2024 This will be the 15th Championship game that Stroud has taken charge of so far this season, during which he has handed out 72 yellow cards and 1 red card. Four of those yellow cards were shown to Liam Cullen, Josh Tymon, Jay Fulton and Joe Allen during the Swansea’s 5-0 defeat at Southampton on Boxing Day. This will be Stroud’s third Leicester game this season, having overseen the Foxes 3-2 home wins over Millwall last December and the 1-0 win against Sunderland in October. During those games he showed yellow cards to Conor Coady, Wout Faes, Kelechi Iheanacho, Jannik Vestergaard, James Justin and Ricardo Pereira.

A bit disingenuous especially as it was a positive report. Sure there was more than a handful of kids there but he has no way of knowing how many were attending their first game.
