With 86 minutes played and the score at 1-1 at City’s Seagrave training base, Sheridan jumped for a header and sustained an injury as he landed. He required prolonged medical treatment before being taken to hospital by a dedicated ambulance crew. Palace have said they will provide an update on the 20-year-old when they can. With no ambulance then at the ground, the remainder of the game could not be played, forcing an abandonment. Both clubs are now awaiting a decision over the status of the fixture, and whether it will need to be replayed, albeit the Premier League’s official site has recorded the game as a draw for now and updated their table accordingly. Leicester City Under-21s match abandoned after Will Alves goal and rare Danny Ward start A serious injury to Crystal Palace defender Joe Sheridan saw the Premier League 2 match at Seagrave abandoned with four minutes left to play and with the score at 1-1 ByJordan Blackwell 10:23, 20 FEB 2024UPDATED14:24, 20 FEB 2024 The visitors’ had taken the lead midway through the first half thanks to striker Luke Plange but Will Alves equalised for City six minutes before half-time. It was the second time Alves had scored for the Under-21s this season, but on both occasions the match has been abandoned. Back in November, Alves scored in his comeback game against Newcastle, but a medical emergency involving a member of City’s staff just before half-time saw the match called off. The staff member was taken to hospital and after examinations was released to recover at home. On Monday, Alves was playing in a strong City line-up that included goalkeeper Danny Ward. The Wales international has not played a senior competitive match for City this season and was turning out for the Under-21s for the first time. He was perhaps looking to get minutes ahead of his nation’s Euro 2024 play-offs next month. Also in the City line-up were Wanya Marcal, Arjan Raikhy and Brandon Cover, while Tawanda Maswanhise came off the bench. All four have played senior matches for City since the turn of the year. If the 1-1 scoreline is finalised, it moves City up one place to 23rd in the 26-team Premier League 2 table. The top 16 qualify for the end-of-season play-offs, with City seven points off the pace with seven matches remaining. -

https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/leicester-city-notebook-enzo-maresca-9112589 Uefa financial report shows gives context over relegation Uefa released their annual financial report last week and doesn’t make great reading regarding City’s relegation last May. Part of the report lists the 20 clubs who spent most on wages around Europe and City’s inclusion in the list puts into context just how badly they messed up to end up going down to the Championship. It should be noted first that the list isn’t entirely accurate as City are yet to release their own financial statement from last season. That’s due next month. So the figure used in the Uefa report is City’s wage bill from the 2021-22 season, the year before. It’s expected that up-to-date numbers will show City’s wage bill has reduced slightly. However, with €215m paid to players and staff across the whole club in 21-22, that would put their wage bill 16th in Europe for 22-23. When City’s latest finances are released, they will only fall out of the top 20 if they have reduced their wage bill by at least €27m. Wage expenditure is often an accurate indicator of where a team will finish and in the chart, but City are the eighth highest spenders in the Premier League, behind the so-called big six and Aston Villa. A slight reduction will take them below Newcastle too, but they would still be ninth in the Premier League, nowhere near the 18th place they eventually finished. A rundown of the clubs who sit above City shows the kind of level they would perhaps have expected to achieve last season. From first to 15th, the list reads: Barcelona, PSG, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, Juventus, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, Aston Villa.

Then stop charging for membership so every one can have the chance of going to games. Allow people to sign up and buy tickets on the day on their phones or pc. They say they’re a big community club but where’s the community in their membership charge. Seems like they are courting this community status via none fans to give themselves a good image.

Someone looking for Click points https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/leicester-citys-top-9-best-managers-in-order-of-games-won-ranked/#nigel-pearson Leicester City's top 9 best managers in order of games won (Ranked) BYSIMMEY HANNIFIN-DONALDSON PUBLISHED 51 MINUTES AGO The Foxes most-successful managers in terms of victories ranked from nine to one. HIGHLIGHTS Nigel Pearson, Brian Little, and Jimmy Bloomfield are among Leicester City's most successful managers, ranking 9th, 8th, and 7th respectively. Martin O'Neill and Norman Bullock also achieved notable success, ranking 6th and 4th on the list of Leicester City's winningest managers. Brendan Rodgers, Willie Orr, Peter Hodge, and Matt Gillies round out the top three, with Gillies being the club's most successful manager with 201 wins. Leicester City are certainly a club with a fine history in English football, having won every major trophy available to them domestically. This of course included a fairytale Premier League win in 2015/16, and most recently, an FA Cup in 2021. But who are the club's most successful managers? Well, below, we've ranked the top nine managers at the club, according to how many wins they achieved as Leicester City boss. Naturally, those with longevity at the club feature highly, but there are some interesting names thrown up. Let's get into the rankings. 9Nigel Pearson The first name on our list, and coming in at number nine in terms of Leicester City managers that have overseen the most wins is Nigel Pearson. Pearson was in charge at the club between November 2011 and June 2015, winning 80 matches during that time. Pearson's achievements included winning the Championship in 2013/14 and a great escape from relegation in 2014/15, laying the groundwork for Leicester's Premier League title success in 2015/16. 8Brian Little Brian Little is the next name to feature on our list, and narrowly edges Nigel Pearson to rank eighth. Indeed, Little has recorded just one more victory as Leicester boss than Pearson, with 81 wins during his tenure. Little was in charge between 1991 and 1994 and won promotion to the Premier League in 93/94 via the first division play-offs. 7Jimmy Bloomfield Managing the club between 1971 and 1977, Jimmy Bloomfield ranks seventh in the list of Leicester City managers in terms of wins. Taking charge of over 280 matches, Bloomfield recorded 85 wins as Foxes boss. 6Martin O’Neill Martin O'Neill finds himself ranked number six in terms of Leicester City managers and their victories. O'Neill was in charge of the club between 1995 and 2000, taking charge of over 200 games. During that time, he won 85 matches, winning two League Cup's and promotion to the Premier League in 95/96. 5Norman Bullock Norman Bullock is the next former Foxes boss to feature on this list, coming in at number four. Bullock took charge of the club in the post-war era, between 1949 and February 1955. During that time, Bullock's Leicester won 91 matches, with one of their best moments being crowned second division champions in 1953/54. 4Brendan Rodgers The second Northern Irishman to feature on this list, Brendan Rodgers comes in at number four in terms of most wins as Leicester boss. Rodgers took charge of the club in February 2019 and remained in charge until April last season. During that time, Rodgers took charge of just over 200 matches, 91 of which his side took the victory in. Rodgers' Leicester won the 2021 FA Cup and FA Community Shield. 3Willie Orr Into the top three now and Willie Orr is the next former Foxes boss to feature. Orr was in charge of the club almost a century ago, taking over as manager in 1926 and lasting until 1932. During that time, Orr took charge of just shy of 250 games, winning 102 of these. 2Peter Hodge Ranking second in terms of wins as Leicetster boss is the man that Orr took over from, Peter Hodge. Hodge was manager of Leicester between 1919 and May 1926. Hodge oversaw over 300 games during that time, winning 125 of them. Hodges' Leicester were second division champions in 1924/25. 1Matt Gillies In at number one, and Leicester City's most successful manager ever in terms of wins whilst at the club is Matt Gillies. There's no doubt Gillies longevity gave him the upper hand here, with 10 years as boss between 1958 and 1968. During that time, he managed over 500 games, winning 201 of them. During his tenure, the club won the League Cup in 1964, and were runners up the following season. Gillies side were also runners-up in the FA Cup in 1961 and 1963
