Was still worth sending him on loan though imo. Game time is important.

Yeah agree with this, we’ve needed him all year but the game time he’s got is invaluable. Always the debate with loan players I guess.

good grief. If that’s a ‘ highlight reel tha gets people excited then no wonder we are in the mess we are in.

not saying he isn’t a good player but totally bang average highlight reel

Miles wide of the mark to the initial take, as per usual. Not saying he’s going to completely revolutionise our game, but that he’s (at least closely approaching) on par with what we have.

  3. By the way, Business of Sport is a fantastic podcast to watch/listen if you aren't already - watched them pre Charlie Methven getting involved (can't say I'm a huge fan despite him knowing his stuff) and its a great one to watch in terms of getting to grips with the stuff that the general fan, myself included, can't really wrap their head around.

  4. Might be worth setting up a thread of media/videos to post things into in one place now the wider footballing world are waking up to our demise and what's probably on the horizon - feel like that other Charlie Methven video was posted about a hundred times too.

Still amazes me that we won the league with okazaki as a regular starter.   Yes, he worked hard, but there was nothing about his game that suggested a top six level player.

He was a forward though and has said that it was a major gripe that he had to play in a more withdrawn role and that he was never really happy here.

There wasn't for the majority of that team no?

  6. I've thought about it and Finners is spot on. Only natural the club appeals and any increase on the original 6 just because of an appeal is unprecedented. Still think we deserved 6 mind and it's a bit shameless but they gotta do it as it could be the difference between staying in this division or not.

Excuse my ignorance in this But I was sure in my mind that you can’t be punished in the football league for something done wrong in the premier league and vice versa as they are two different companies if you like.

That changed after we took the piss out of them the last time.

  8. Let’s not kid ourselves, a load of money came in on the markets for Rowett within 24hours. Was talked about on here. Wasn’t like they didn’t know about him. They’ve clearly fvcked around with other candidates for a few weeks and have come back to Rowett.

Good luck to the bloke, I’ve always found him likeable. But this is another mark on Rudkins record.

Far and away the most absurd football club to follow the last 40 years.

Sat and thought about it the other day, my season ticket started in 2006, I can’t even comprehend what I’ve witnessed in that time.

I think that’s half my justification in thinking that anyone cancelling their season ticket is just a bit crazy based on our journey.

Fair play that journey might be over but I don’t think anyone can predict that.

disclaimer - I fully get if anyone thinks that is the case.

Jordan Ayew isn't the issue per se, it's his shitty attitude this season, the constant falling over that gets most fans, of course.

Here's to more effort on the pitch, and less licking grass.

The majority of this squad has a LOT to make up for. The only ones that come out with any sort of dignity so far to me are James, Fatawu (just) and Vestergaard (for his goals, mind – which is bizarre in itself).

The rest – sheesh, talk about underperforming.

I agree. I despise Ayew. But Rowett will come in with a blank slate and see just two strikers - one with established premier league experience. Let’s not meltdown come Saturday at 11:15am.

  11. Hard to articulate this, but this has been the most ridiculous club to support for the last 15 years. I’m not saying get behind this owner, but I think giving up your hard earned loyalty (points) isn’t the answer. As much as we want this ownership out, this club seriously wouldn’t surprise you if it flipped on its head  - we’ve been there, we’ve lived it.

I’m sure some will say I’m crazy, fair play I agree. But yeah, this club is even more batshit.

Scenes if he starts Jordan Ayew as our lone striker on Saturday.

I’m sure many more will say this but based on a 1 in 2 chance - plus factoring general footballing reputation, let’s not get our hopes up.

Also given how horrific our fitness has been for years since Pearson left and Rodgers gradually disassembled everything he left, the fact he was head of Sports Science at Man City at some point is also ****ing nice.

Was about to say the same, could clearly do with an overhaul in the S&C department at this point.
