After watching some of the world cup game some of the "smaller club world cup team" have some good players that we could do with
I know this is said with good intent, but we have to stop thinking we can sign players of any renown until we're back in the Championship some day. With the level of coverage on them, I can't see any of the players at any of those kind of teams landing at a League One club.

I'm confused by this article. Nowhere in it does it say Martin will hand debuts to these players, just that they, well, exist to be given debuts too. Very misleading headline.
That being said, I hope all 3 get a chance.

Less than two minutes into his interview, and he's explicitly called out us selling 23k in season tickets as an exciting thing about the club.
Tell me you've been fed lines by Anthony without telling me you've been fed lines by Anthony. Ugh.

Can you back up this claim that the 'idea is objectively right'? The risk of an interception on your own penalty area seems much greater than the potential reward to me.
Plus it makes you look a tit.
No football idea is objectively right. That's kind of the brilliant thing about football. But there is merit in inviting pressure and passing past opposition players, because it takes them out of the game.
But yes, if you get it wrong it doesn't make you look a tit. To be fair though, getting most things wrong tends to make people look like tits

Surely he'll wait for a Championship job at a more stable club.
There's no way his stock has dropped far enough that he needs League One and no way our combination of reputation and financial situation is good enough to attract his level of coach to drop.
Can see us being naive enough to waste time on him but can't see it ever happening.
Plus, it honestly wouldn't surprise me if Topkin think Martin is genuinely a better catch.
I mean, Ipswich job is available. Looks like a no-brainer to me that he would try for that. Whether they'd have him...not sure. Might be fishing in a bigger pond now. But Edwards is a similar sort of builder as McKenna, IMHO.
Then again, apparently Ipswich do this whole "planning ahead" thing, so probably have someone lined up already. Don't really understand that approach tbh. Where's the jeopardy?!

I'm not a fan, but have signings under him been unilaterally bad across his jobs? I am worried about the profile of players we'll sign though (e.g. overly possession focused).

Why can't Top just go and get Challinor, he wasting so much time as usual, when will the man realise he's out of his depth.
I hope this is another (deep cut) fish and ocean related pun.

Does Brussell have any track record developing youth?
I think he oversaw Tyler Dibling coming through? A few other young players like Shea Charles too, although he was bought from Man City rather than coming through the academy.

This is the bare minimum any football fan of any football club should be given.

Not even remotely surprised. Only our board could pull back on appointing a manger seemingly because our fans explicitly broadcast at a game how much they dislike him...and then 12 months later appoint him anyway.
Aiyawatt, Rudkin, what the actual **** is wrong with you? Do you have brains like sieves? What exactly is it going to take to listen to the fans and do the right thing, for once?

Club have missed a golden opportunity to use this game to launch the new home kit, straight away it removes any link from last seasons failures, offers the opportunity to launch it with loads of positivity, would have probably led to a big increase in attendance and you could use some of the premier league winners alongside some of the brighter academy players for the promo shoots with a slogan/tagline such as -
“They Made History. You Write the Next Chapter.”
there you go Anthony you can have that fecker for free …… if only you had answered my numerous emails offering consultancy support but hey ho 🤣
Stop it. I love it.
Maybe we're not fussed about signing a new striker because we just adore missing open goals...who knows eh.

Atmosphere was surprisingly jovial. Shame about the overall attendance as the Senior Players probably deserved a bit more respect given what the occasion actually stood for.
I'm glad those who went did have a nice time. It's not something I, like many I feel, felt they could support given everything happening at the club at the moment. But that doesn't mean others can't go there for a nice day out.
I agree it's a shame about the overall attendance, but it was abundantly obvious that would happen. There is little to no hope around the club or in the fan base at the moment after the last two years, so I think a lot of people (myself included) are relieved we're not playing for a couple of months. Everyone is so tired of the shit we've been served up, and this just wasn't a big enough draw given the circumstances.
Those returning players deserved a higher attendance, and I think the club missed a massive open goal by failing to show any real acknowledgement of failings or promise to do better. Even something like that, or indication they're trying to do something would have rallied folks a little bit more. They didn't even try—they just banked on the anniversary as a marketing ploy. Very sad.
But anyway, as I said, I'm glad some of those who went (players included) had a good time.

Did any of them play against the 15/16 side at all? Surely it should have been at least players that maybe we'd faced over the course of that season. Utterly bizarre.

Cremonese 1-0 down too.

It would be very Leicester to sign a potentially ex-Saint, huh.

It's been largely shit though hasn't it? Lots of the ball in Countys half without really doing much with it.
You say this, and yet I swear this game feels higher quality than most of our games this season. Baffling. And I'm not meaning to be hyperbolic. Maybe because it's just being played at a faster pace then it feels like football is actually happening...even if there haven't really been any chances yet.

The longer there is no "thank you and goodbye" for Rowett, the longer I think he might actually be under consideration.
I get hedging your bets, but...it's been 3 weeks since we were relegated. The second that happened, we should have started looking. At the latest.

Walked past the train station and everyone buggering off to all over the country.
I just don’t understand why people can’t support their local clubs, whether that be football, rugby, cricket or whatever.
If you're talking about it in relation to the Tigers being a "big club", then I get you. But from a City perspective, there are plenty of fans like me that were either born in Leicester and moved away young (so lost the accent, and have to travel), and/or grew up supporting Leicester because their family did. My "local" club is Brighton, but I've always been a Leicester fan. That's just how it is.

Good work. **** me, they'll probably postpone it now won't they, spinning it as "recognising it's not the right time to be celebrating while the club reflect on a disappointing end to the season". Not because they are, but because they don't want to be humiliated by such a low attendance.
Poorly organised, poorly communicated, poorly thought through. At Leicester City Football Club? In 2026? I'm shaken to my core.

Do we have a sports psychologist on the staff? I feel like we need a department built for it, and a manager who believes in that as much as being a good head coach for the group.

I can't for the life of me remember when this stuff usually gets leaked. Feel like normally we'd have an inkling of one of the kits by this time of year.

Group L: England, Croatia, Ghana, Panama

Saka and Rashford in, yes, but don't take out Kane and Bellingham for what could be a pivotal chance to finish top of the group. I'd rather us go strong to start and take off players 50-60+ minutes if we're cruising. Other less-high-profile nations in this tournament have shown you can't take anything for granted. And we just got shut out by 11 men behind the ball. Why would Panama play any differently?
