  1. He's not a miracle worker, so don't think we could have expected to suddenly get clean sheets, a good work ethic and a few wins already...as much as I'm disappointed we haven't picked them up lately.

Clean sheet still looks a distant possibility at this moment in time, but we do look more resilient than before. And we've only lost 1 of 4 matches, that match being the in-form team in the league...I'm slightly clutching at straws, but if not for the poor work ethic against Norwich, I'd say we can see some progress.

The problem is that we need to see rapid impact—a new manager bounce, if you will. I'm worried about it being too little, too late. And those home games do not fill me with confidence. We seem better away.

I assume JJ isn't fit enough to start. It isn't that surprising given the length of his inury, think some of the reactions to that are a bit OTT.

Not sure what Mukasa has done to deserve getting dropped for Reid mind.

That's fair. I guess there's an assumption that JJ would be ready again, but perhaps that's premature, especially given we'll need him for the other games this week. We don't even know how he'll be asked to play in a Rowett team either, to be fair.

Mukasa is the baffling one to me. Although nobody was good last week, Mukasa has been a key source of creativity since he joined us.

  3. Vietes really not rated then. Good for French I guess.

No Mukasa and JJ in the starting 11 is...oh I can't even be bothered to finish that thought.

C'mon lads. Please get us a positive result. We're in dire need.

  4. No win in 10 games. 7 losses over that same period.

The hope for the last two games has been snuffed out after that performance. I trust Rowett to try anything he can to save us. I don't trust this "squad". **** me this is depressing.

  5. Yeah I reckon if anything happens it will be a 20-40 point deduction, putting Man City just outside the relegation zone, but still too far ahead of those actually in it. They'll then use that to galvanize themselves and win the Champions League or something, meaning all they lose out on is cash from PL finishing position.

They're too much of a commercial draw for the league for the PL to relegate them. And that would be unprecedented anyway. No way would they get it to stick on appeal.

Bet he's flawless at taking the bins out, strikes me as the sort of man thats read the council guidelines to the nth degree and knows how to get the job done. Has them out there at 7.01pm the night before an just stands in his bay window staring at his neighbours.

    You've got to respect that

Always good to have a manager who knows how to take out the trash.

  7. This ad popped up on Instagram. Just a tad silly and made me laugh.

Considering he's now been sold and then loaned out by said buying club to another club, I think the social/paid media team should remove this from the ad carousel now, surely 😅.

  8. Just watched the goal back, and I think he's at fault twice in the build up to the goal. Strange pass to try and play (it wasn't on), and then sort of gets frozen in place as he realises his mistakes, making it easy to play around him. If he'd dropped back on making the mistake he probably could have cut off the supply or made an interception... disappointing.

I'm really not sure what to make of him. Would love him to succeed (and great he got a goal), but you can't make mistakes like that every week.

History has shown us again and again possession doesnt win you games, its interesting that even a manager such as Gary has decided to focus on that and bring Winks back in.  Its brave, but lets hope it works out.

I can't remember the exact quote, but when he was talking about that, he effectively admitted by omission that we need to play that way because we are incapable off the ball. I don't think it's the way he wants us to play, but he's identified that our shape and structure is shite off the ball. That may be what former managers have seen too, but he's the first to call it out as necessary rather than "the right way to play". I can respect that.

  10. Shit way for it to happen, but kind of relieved for the Owls now. They knew they were down, now that's over and done with they can just try to enjoy the rest of the season as much as they can. Maybe it'll speed up the takeover too, now relegation is officially confirmed.

Mind, I'd like if this didn't give them a bounce when they face us 😅

  11. Rowett spoke well post-match. He pointed out to the players and on the radio that whereas in previous weeks conceding a late equaliser has seen us completely collapse, or drop deep, today we pushed forward and looked the likelier winners. Maybe it's new manager bounce, but I have some hope that it's because of his influence. Hopefully with some more time on the training ground he can build a bit more mental toughness in the squad...and do something with our defence...

Mukasa's been really anonymous for what it's worth. Really failed to stamp his mark at No. 10 whatsoever.

As it is, may as well try Richards there, we haven't got much else.

Yeah Mukasa hasn't done much, but hardly helped from not getting the ball high up the pitch from his teammates. The one good thing he's done is slide it across to Ricardo for that pot shot.

If we had even one or two good defenders on the pitch that would be a something to build from. We just don't have any.

  13. So so pleased for Sammy. You love to see it.

Things you also love to see: Faes conceding a pen for someone that isn't us :sweating: (although not sure his audition at Monaco is going all that well, sadly).
