RedSoxUK Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Baseball is back!! - I didn't see a thread so I decided to start a general. What are your expectations for the upcoming season? How has the off-season altered your teams play-off chances?Who do you think is going to win each division this year? Can SFG repeat their success,or will the Dodgers finally reach their potential this time? http://mlb.mlb.com/home
Lamby Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Wooo Yankees! I don't have a clue about it, I'm just rooting for them as I'm going to one of their games
Beliall Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Boo yankees. looking forward to the season. dont know enough to really make any predictions, but would be nice to see the cubs have a good season with the help of john lester, i think the dodgers will have a good season, and of =course the red sox, lets hope they can go form last to first (again)

Samu Posted 5 April 2015 Posted 5 April 2015 Another Red Sox fan here. Hoping for a big season, but it all depends on pitching in my opinion. There are some seriously exciting young players in the team this season and I'm excited to see how Betts and Castillo perform (when he gets called up). I also think Boegarts will have a great year. In terms of other teams, the Angels should do well, and the Mariners look like they might finally make some progress. In the NL, the Nationals will be seriously strong with the best starting pitchers in the league in my opinion. There's no way the Giants will repeat their victory. The Dodgers should be strong too, and I'm excited to see how the Padres do after their crazy offseason changes. All in all, looking forward to another exciting season!

marko Posted 6 April 2015 Posted 6 April 2015 Seems like an appropriate thread for this http://www.theguardian.com/sport/gallery/2015/apr/06/meat-cheese-and-lots-of-calories-mlb-stadium-foods-in-pictures

On a completely unrelated note - five home runs, including one grand slam for the Red Sox last night. What a start!
Brizzle Fox Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 quite unbelievable. poor phillies Just been in Philly for a few days and every Phillies fan you speak to is expecting a 100 loss season. Lots of old has beens on huge salaries. Sounds like Sven is in charge!
Samu Posted 8 April 2015 Posted 8 April 2015 You might well be right. Their best players (Utley, Papelbon and Hamels) apparently all want to leave and they really don't have much in the way of quality. Cliff Lee should still be ok when he gets back from injury but I can't see them doing well at all this season.
Beliall Posted 11 April 2015 Posted 11 April 2015 19 inning victory over the yankees, 6-5. ending in a nice double play. the sox have started well http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/17807232/v68555983
Beliall Posted 14 April 2015 Posted 14 April 2015 Mookie Betts had quite the game in last nights home opener against the nationals http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/11493214/v72151883/must-c-combo-betts-steals-the-show-on-opening-day
RedSoxUK Posted 19 April 2015 Author Posted 19 April 2015 Was very very frustrating to watch the Sox last night vs the Os- keeping Clay Buchholz in for that many innings when he was leaking hits was a costly mistake by Farrell. Didn't hit well either, and giving up a two run homer in the 9th is exactly why you should put in Koji to close regardless! Brock Holt's continuing to impress me, he has to start in a position instead of being regarded as a 'utility'. - It's looking bad for the Yankees (yes!) and the Giants have started poor.
