Pop-Ups

Every time I open a thread, I get pop-ups saying along the lines of 'you're at risk of receiving a lot of viruses, and call 0800-something immediately', and it slows down looking through threads.

 

Does anyone else get this, and any idea how I can stop them?

If they're giving you a phone number it's a scam. Try malware bytes.

It's not the forum it will be your machine has malware or adware.

 

Try general clean up tools and anti virus.

Had a scan, and it says 'no issues' found.

 

Perhaps changing browser (from Chrome) may stop it.

hi there.

If you look in the corner of the ads you will see that it is a certain add on or extension in chrome. it usually changes your default browser too or pops things up infrnt of you and says "bought to you by"

if you can tell me what it comes up with that will be great.

also check your chrome extensions for something you don't recognize.
