Great Boos Up Posted 20 November 2015 Posted 20 November 2015 As I drive a lot, one of my favourite threads is what on the roads has annoyed you today (50% of them maybe me). Had a few of these dash cams for years now. You can now buy one for a tenner! Yes the quality may be rubbish but BUY one. ~~~I was stationary in a road and a car pulled out to turn right (driver looking left) and pushed me off the road. Lovely chap, was so apologetic and rang his insurance company at the scene to give details of his error and my contact details to get my car sorted. The insurance company called something similar to TESKOW insurance (legal disclaimer) then called me at the scene! with my claim ref number and said a garage would contact me in the next hour to fix the damage. They apologised for my inconvenience and thanked me for dealing through them. 24 hours later.. no call; so I contacted TESKOW and stated their reference number. " this does not exist now Sir it's in dispute". I contacted the driver who again genuinely told me he was at fault and he would get it sorted and even gave me his address and details again to make sure that the right thing was done. I call the next day and now TESKOW claim I am at fault. It dawned on me that insurance companies are only there for profit and will fight any claim to save a pound. I should have called my insurance straight away but when someone calls to take my hassle away, I thought what a good company. I then emailed my insurance company with my footage from my dashcam and courtesy car arrived at my house within hours! Additional: because TESKOW fully admit their client was at blame due to footage. These records must have been passed on and on and on. Four years later I still get cold calls from companies stating I could claim thousands. Additional, additional. I've got some weird and wonderful footage but don't know how to post it.
DB11 Posted 21 November 2015 Posted 21 November 2015 Don't engage in any correspondence with other people regarding claims. Just speak to your insurance company and let them deal with the other person's insurance company directly.
