Because guns are involved. The FBI have been planning and watching and have been waiting for the right time. What they were trying to do is wait until the militia leader was seperate from the rest and arrest him which would of made taking the camp alot easier. Divide and conquer. classic tactic.

Reasonable enough. Just thought they'd move in sooner with the possibility of more dead bodies given past evidence.
