Windows 7 Chrome Extension query

MrsG  and I both have Win 7 on a desktop pc on mine I can see the extensions at the right side of my address bar.

I can  show or hide them by hovering over the end of the address bar and a double end arrow appears allowing me to show or not the extensions. 

 

On MrsG's pc I can't  get the double ended arrow allowing me to show the extensions.

 

Any suggestions on how to overcome this are welcome. Thanks

go settings

advanced settings 

Restore settings to their original defaults.

Right click the address bar and see what options comes up - you may want one of them
