Bazly Posted 6 June 2016 Posted 6 June 2016 Facing the transfer out of Vardy, Mahrez and Kante this Summer the heart will be ripped out of the current LC side. The owners are in a tough position, double wages, treble wages, take a punt? The problem is if you treble the wages of these players then you need to double everyone else's. That would be an extra £50mn of the wages bill with absolutely nothing gained. We have seen what happened to the likes of Leeds, Blackburn, QPR, Portsmouth and a ruck other teams that chased the dream and woke up in a hole. That's why we have to let the 'star' players go if they want to go for the future stability of the club. OK its title defence over before it starts but hopefully there is more than enough craft in the side to comfortably remain well clear of the drop zone (though the odds on relegation are tumbling by the minute). With new reasonable priced signings on reasonable wages lots of money from the player sales can be banked or put aside for investment in facilities and the depth of squad. Lets face it and remain positive because it will probably be a completely different LC side that turns out for the Community Shield game then ended the Season at Chelsea but without a raft of £100k a week premadonna's. In Ranierri, the scouting team and the owners we have to trust. No choice really.
kingcarr21 Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 The heart of our Leicester City side is the fans not any 1,2 or 3 players. We get behind whoever puts the shirt on. If anyone leaves so be it our heart will still beat strongly
Blue will Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 I reckon it will be just Kante that goes! If vardy was going why wait and drag it on. Let's not panic it's gonna be a long window Let's go get Troy deeny and mendy to start
Loggy88 Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 Those clubs mentioned didn't have the financial stability and great owners we have, keep the faith. We are a fantasticly well run club.
Captain... Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 There are some things we can control some things we can't. If Vardy wants to leave and Arsenal have met the release clause there is nothing we can do, if Vardy is unsure and wants more money from us then we have a decision. At the moment we can afford bigger wages, but it is not a route I want to see the club go down, we either need relegation clauses, or supplement wages with massive performance bonuses to limit the risk, if the players perform they get big money, we get big money everyone is happy. If they don't and we get relegated we are not lumbered with astronomical wages. If we want to be one of the big players arguably we need to pay the big wages, but we aren't there yet and need to grow and develop and prove that last season wasn't a one off. I really don't want this to become a protracted wage/transfer saga as that is unsettling to the squad, if Vardy is going to leave I would rather he went now than on transfer deadline day.
halferowley2 Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 These players have had a career high, never to be repeated (for a few years anyway). The so called bigger clubs will always buy the better players and can do so within the finiacianal rules. No matter what these players go on to achieve they will always be remembered for being at LCFC. The rest of their careers could be an anti climax, they may get higher wages and further honours but battling against the odds and playing with their hearts is always going to playing for high wages and being expected to win. If they stay here or go to other clubs it's never going to be the same ever again for these players.
